Bill lost more collateral in the public arena during this election season than Hillary did. In a matter of 2 or 3 months, he went from being viewed as a popular statesman with the golden touch, to being a vindictive hillbilly with the appeal of a guy who just farted in the elevator. Having him speak on the high-impact last day is a chance for him to help get himself back on the liberal radar by making the "surprise" announcement that he has in fact decided to endorse Obama, which will give the hags on "The View" something to get all juicy about the next morning, and allow Jan Wenner at Rolling Stone to further fellate Obama by running yet another cover article about how orgasmic it was to see Bill and Obie on the puplit together ... it's nothing but theatrics, which I guess is what these conventions are all about.

And I agree with the previous posters' who have said this is Bill's way to leave on a high note... until he lurks back in the next election cycle..

I agree with that...assuming the Clintons grow up. They lost the nomination by rules they agreed to and have acted like it was stolen. Now we gotta worry about how much Bill and Hillary are hurt by what had been said? Childish.

A common Democrat reaction to any loss, anywhere... why would you have expected a losing Dem to act differently this time?

So here is the real deal my friends - the Dems screwed themselves because a section of the party wanted to stick it to the Clintons and somehow the Clintons managed to help them do it. And so the party ended up with Obama and now they are realizing that he is likely not to win and sections of the party are starting to run for cover.

Just look at how many prominent Dems or party hacks that have disappeared from the campaign over the past month...

And so the Clintons smell blood in the water and are looking to 2012 after Obama's defeat this year. Obama and his team look weak because they have capitulated to the Clintons instead of backing them down. So get real there is no detente or unity, this is a street fight and Obama must not have sat in on street fighting 101 at Harvard. Looks like he brought the gun to the knife fight but forgot the bullets....

If by some disastrous even Obama managed to lose this election his career will continue but Hilary Clinton may find that Democrats blame her more than him. Her speech at the convention will be one of the most important of her career and then she has to worry about what Bill will say too.
My bet is that she would have been happier if there was some polite way for the Dems to ignore Bill.
