Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, August 06, 2008

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told a gathering of supporters last week that she's looking for a strategy for her delegates to have their voices heard and respected at the Democratic National Convention -- and did not rule out the possibility of having her name placed into nomination at the convention alongside Sen. Barack Obama's.

Actually it is all about positioning. I really don't think she will register to have her name on the ballot:

Sources close to both Obama and Clinton tell ABC News that the New York senator is highly unlikely to allow her name to be formally submitted for a roll-call vote on the convention floor. The Obama campaign wants to avoid such a vote, since it would underscore the party's splits and remind voters of the divisive primary campaign between the two Democrats.

The refusal to publicly announce her intentions is widely seen as a bargaining chip Clinton is holding onto as party officials negotiate logistics regarding her convention speech and other activities, according to several Democrats who are closely involved with the matter.

I predict leg cramps for Corky.

Does anyone else feel better by the day that this bitch did not end being the Dem nominee?

Thank God she lost!!!!

How does having Hillary's name on the ballot promote unity?

A Hillary delegate at the end of the video said "We will have unity if we are able to vote for you on the first ballot".

All the Clinton supporters want an orgasm before they cuddle.

Obama has a lot of skeletons in his closet. If it comes down to him and McCain they will all come out.
I'm expecting to see Hillary pull some 4th quarter long bomb attempt at the nomination.
It's all a staged puppet show anyway.

Once you go pantsuit, you can never go black.

Fuck Bitch, you lost, move on. What do you want as a consolation prize some lipo and decent tits?

Like what? Maybe you know something in Denmark that we don't.

At least Obama wasn't part of the Keating 5.

If it comes down to him and McCain...

Wot do you mean IF?

They are the two nominees fer their parties.

If you have info spill it.

If not, quit playing the rethug game, Jeffn

Be Well.

On Topic?

Hillaryous is gonna unite the party by splitting it with a floor nomination?

Wotta self-centered, egotistical, power-hungry bint she is!

Be Well.

Actually, spud, I don't believe anything's official until it is voted on at the conventions. In other words, the fat lady hasn't sung quite yet, and there is still a remote chance that we could end up with a "hill" of trouble, as it were.

Knowing Jeff it's probably some kink fantasy of a video surfacing showing Obama being spit-roasted by Sadaam and Osama bin Laden

Hillary comes out to address the convention.

Obama comes to the stage just as she starts to remove that fake smile of hers.

Obama walks up to at the podium and punches her right in the face.

Obama goes on to win in a landslide victory garnering 75% of the Republican vote.

Do I have to think of everything?

I enjoyed watching Obama beat her ass in the primaries more than anything I ever witnessed in politics. I'm working against Obama but he is light years ahead of the Clintons. Barry turning this country into a socialist state under Cuba doesn't scare me as much as the Clinton's back in office. Watch your back dems!

MAKE IT STOP!

Just one trip to Dallas, I swear.

Hillary is like a bad case of the clap at a free love commune.

If everyone on DR on both sides of the aisle hate her then who are the people who voted for her?

"Barry turning this country into a socialist state under Cuba doesn't scare me as much as...."

Well, it should scare you dear, as that's about the most frightening glimpse into the political "thoughts" of a retard that I've ever seen posted on the web. (Except for the dozen or so other occasions just today)

How, exactly, is "Barry" going to turn "this country into a socialist state under Cuba"?///

Are you really that infantile? Do you really base your political decisions on bullshit like that?

If everyone on DR on both sides of the aisle hate her then who are the people who voted for her?
Posted by fwthom at 2008-08-06 06:35 PM

First, not "everyone" on "both sides of the aisle" on the DR "hate" Hillary.

Second, nor did "everyone" on "both sides of the aisle" on the DR oppose her, even without the fuel of hatred.

Third, not "everyone" is represented here on the DR.

I know, I know, it's a shock.

Let me know when you want the skinny on Santa Claus.

"If everyone on DR on both sides of the aisle hate her then who are the people who voted for her?"

Well Fwthom, one is probably the last guy to fuck you in the ass and then slap his shit stained dick across your face.

C'mon, Furio, you gotta knock this shit off.
I almost needed a Heimlichmeister when I swallowed my wine.
(As for Fwthom, he/she/it needs to swallow his/her/its whine.)

Beetlejuice,

My hyperbole went way over your head.

FWTHOM -

With you it's not hyperpole.
It's SOP.

I am so sick of the Clintons and I voted for the jackass twice. If this idiot had kept his pecker in his pants, Gore would have won, there would be NO Iraq war and 4,000 GI's still alive, one million alive Iraqi civilians, and extra 12 billion dollars a month for America and Osama bin laden would have been found by now.

So, you know what righties, your right: ITS CLINTON'S FAULT!!!!

"C'mon, Furio, you gotta knock this shit off.
I almost needed a Heimlichmeister when I swallowed my wine."

doc, maybe you should choose a box of wine that's at least aged for two weeks in the tub .

I get to buy up some tokaj for the year at a wine fair in budpaest in couple of weeks.

"My hyperbole went way over your head.

Your "hyperbole", as you refer to your bullshit, is all I know of you.

Furio -

I don't get my wine from boxes aged in a tub.
I go direct to the source.
The tub.

I have to say that her 'imperial' attitude is not endearing...

I was for Hillary early on in the primary fight. Until that imperial attitude you're talking about started rearing its incredibly ugly head. Bill didn't help, either. I'd voted for the bastard, twice, and simply couldn't forgive him for squandering his presidency---and Al Gore's chance for the office---on a dingbat intern and a few blowjobs.

I don't know how typical of the defeated legion Corky's attitude is, but anyone who voted for Hillary who either (a) doesn't vote for Obama in November or (b) votes for McCain is going to have to explain, at least to themselves, why they put pettiness over Roe v. Wade.

And that's just for openers.

I understand that conventions are about power politics. Naturally pro obama supporters are using the press is to create an image of hillary being obnoxious. However, it's not much of a stretch to see that hillary is a flaming cunt.

Clinton ROCKS

If this idiot had kept his pecker in his pants, Gore would have won, there would be NO Iraq war and 4,000 GI's still alive, one million alive Iraqi civilians, and extra 12 billion dollars a month for America and Osama bin laden would have been found by now.

Angel of Truth he could have still resigned and let Gore take over, even after Monica, but he hadn't the grace to do so.

Now he is sabotaging Obama because he's insanely jealous of him.

Hillary should divorce him NOW.

she could only hope, with audacity of course !

"Obama has a lot of skeletons in his closet. If it comes down to him and McCain they will all come out."

I heard that his former driver, Salim Hamdan, was just found guilty for providing material support for terrorism;-)

Well Fwthom, one is probably the last guy to fuck you in the ass and then slap his shit stained dick across your face.

Now there is a name from the past...

As for Hillary--You Go Girl!

A floor nomination would, I believe, be undemocratic. The People have already spoken, and what they have said is Barack Obama.

This is not to say that I salivate over Obama, or some diehard fan of him, just that I think Hillary lost this nomination, and that reversing the loss would be akin to awarding a win to a football team that just lost.

"The People have already spoken, and what they have said is Barack Obama."

The people of the red states spoke and were given more weight than the blue states. The people of the blue states voted for Clinton.

The funny thing is, the votes in FL and Michigan were done with little to no campaigning from Obama, so it was just off sheer name recognition. Most of those voters were not educated and knew nothing of Obama. Hillary was riding off her husband's coat tails and anyone who denies it is in denial. I'm glad he got the nomination because it wasn't the slightest bit fair and he's earned it.

"One of the things that politicians tend to do that drives voters nuts is they make all kinds of promises while campaigning, then forgets all about them once they get elected. Actually, it doesn't really drive folks any more -- we expect it. It's become a cliche'.
Well, no more. Senator Obama doesn't do that. Instead, he dumps his promises as soon as he makes them....More recently, Senator Obama made another financial promise he hasn't kept. When Hillary Clinton finally suspended (NOT ended) her campaign, Senator Obama promised to help her retire her sizable campaign debt. (I'm sensing a common theme here... politicians not paying their bills and keeping their promises.) The deal was that they'd each raise $500,000 for each other.
Hillary's kept her end of the deal, and both she and Bill have been good soldiers (well, as good as they can when they're not working for their own benefit) for Obama. So far, though, Obama's fallen a bit short of the money he pledged her.___About $500,000 short."

wizbangblog.com

It's pretty obvious who the right wing loons think would be the easier candidate to beat, just look at their praise for Clinton....they are afraid Obama is going to win in a landslide and embarrass the Republican party out of existence.

Does anyone, meaning her embittered supporters, actually think that if they, the embittered supporters, actually pulled something off at the Convention, that she would go on to win the Presidency? What a bunch of B.S.

Obama may well win in a landslide. There will be some who will not vote for him because of his race, but that will not make them vote for McCain. If the American people are not over-influenced by the "Right wing" attacks on Obama as a "Socialist Liberal" who is a tool of "Muslims" and "Hamas" etc.etc., all of which are crap and nonsense, he will have a big victory.

The Republican party should already be embarrassed virtually out of existence by the last eight years.

Oohrah you will have to determine for yourself if you are a loon or not but I think if you look at the state of the economy and still vote McCain it is a pretty good hint .... but your comments do make my point that Clinton's desire for a floor vote is counter productive to the hopes of working American Democrats and if Obama should somehow lose this election the blame will fall squarely on her shoulders. If Obama doesn't win in 08 Hilary should know in advance that most of us Democrats will never vote for her in 2012.

I'm rooting for a Romney nod.

Once America gets educated on how his business worked - laying off tens of thousands of workers and sending the jobs to China - he'll be toast.

Also, there's the McCain January and April statements "Americans are better off under Bush economically"

Laughable

"Why vote McCain? Aside from feeling screwed during the nominating process, they might prefer McCain's drilling/nuke views (driving down gas prices, something you don't really hear Dems talking about)..."

But that has been debunked by government sources. Drilling will NOT bring down gas prices. I can't consider your posts seriously if all you can do is post untrue talking points.

"as well as a stronger military candidate."...who doesn't even know the difference between Sunni and Shia....oh please the old dude is virtually senile.

"People are learning more about his policies and finding they might not be as pumped as his diehard supporters."

People are just seeing the attack ads, they aren't learning more about any policies that way, when they actually read his policies he gains voters.
Have you actually been to Obama's web site and read his policies???

Fuck Bitch, you lost, move on. What do you want as a consolation prize some lipo and decent tits?

The Dem love machine in action.......

Republicans rely on a long stated phony claim....that taxes cost jobs and that tax cuts create jobs. Over and over it has been proven that exactly the opposite is true but they still use that to fool voters. McCain's commercials lately state that bunch of b.s. and somehow, even in 2008 as we see the results of exactly that policy some folks still believe it. Some people will not recognize the truth no matter how powerfully it is presented to them and no matter how many times they are presented with the same facts.

Barr sucking off GOP votes. He's polling 6%+ everywhere they poll.

Danni,

The point regarding more domestic drilling isn't to address gas prices as they are right now. The point is that had we taken a more aggressive approach say 20 years ago, we'd have more domestic oil available to us now and such an increase in supply would have resulted in lower prices now.

People who understand this are thinking about the future. You and others seem to take the approach that drilling shouldn't be expanded because it won't have an immediate impact. What people like me recognize is that not only to we have to focus on measures that will help the current situation, we also have to look forward. As the industrialization of 3rd world countries like China and India continues, demand for oil will only continue to rise; in short the demand spike only looks to be higher in the future and as such we need to increase capacity to help offset ever-increasing demand.

If we all sit on our hands regarding this issue, the problem as it is now will only be worse in the future. THAT is precisely why when McCain talks about increasing drilling and refining and Obama doesn't we tend to take notice.

The more you see of Obama, the smarter Hillary looks.

Ye Gads!

All the pussified whining about the negotiating over how the Convention is run.

The problem here is that the Obama camp has yet to clarify the Convention schedule. Had they done so already there wouldn't be a debate.

Their combination of arrogance and fear over how Obama is seen as compared to Clinton is near laughable.

Danni,

ANd just how is obama going to turn the economy around????????

"The point regarding more domestic drilling isn't to address gas prices as they are right now. The point is that had we taken a more aggressive approach say 20 years ago, we'd have more domestic oil available to us now and such an increase in supply would have resulted in lower prices now."

Foreign producers would just cut their output to keep prices high. The small amount of additional supply involved will not effect the price at the pump even if we had started drilling long ago.

"If we all sit on our hands regarding this issue, the problem as it is now will only be worse in the future."

Right you are, if we continue to think oil will be our future then our future expectations will be worse but if we start building alternatives to oil it is a different story. The drilling issue is not even a real issue for McCain, it was just a nice sounding argument to throw out because he doesn't have any issues. Most intelligent folks realize this Jeff, I'm surprised you have been sucked in.

"To what do you attribute McCain's closing in the polls"

1. media wants it close for higher ratings.
2. the oil drilling nonsense
3. tax cut b.s.
4. attack ads
5. racism

Clinton lost. She should be gracious and concede. Instead she's a sore loser who the Democrats should banish to the basement if she doesn't do what every other loser in the primaries has done.

CORKY and Clinton. Birds of a feather. Losers

Americunt Goonity musta missed the concession speech and the fundraisers Hil has already done.

Had the Obamites finalized the convention schedule by now, and in a way that recognized that most registered Dems voted for Clinton during the primary, we wouldn't be talking about this.

Ted Kennedy took his campaign to the floor of the Convention when he had absolutely no chance to win. Clinton has been more than gracious.

Clinton plays a dangerous game. I think most Dems will not take kindly to any disadvantage in the election which results from any game playing at the convention. Winning in 2008 is more important than one woman's ego.

Oooooooooo "Americunt"

Corky you're a fucking moron

Hillary should have conceded already instead of holding the convention hostage for her own ego.

You two are absolute morons with egos the size of Texas, and brains the size of a chestnut.

What part of helping the Democrats and not being a pariah don't you understand idiot?

lmao!! At least we know one thing, were the impossible to happen. and it should BE impossible, and Obama were to somehow lose, it would be every one's fault but his own.

nearly as many dem primary voters voted for clinton as obama. I think she's doing the right thing by them as much as she's promoting herself. She's making sure that their votes are not going to be disregarded as irrelevant.

Winning in 2008 is more important than one woman's ego.

I wish I could believe this were true. I want to believe it but hillarys actions heretofore suggest otherwise.

I honestly and whole-heartedly believe she would kill innocent babies to have that nomination. If obama picked her for VP, he will have a vince foster type 'suicide' before his term was up.

Danni,

We have to start drilling now while we also get new sources online, which will take decades. The problem is that most folks think all we need to do is talk about it and it will happen. Wake the fuck up, it will take decades to perfect theses new forms of energy and to make them economically feasible. In the meantime..DRILL DRILL DRLL

"If we all sit on our hands regarding this issue, the problem as it is now will only be worse in the future."

That sounds familiar: "There will be other cartels and other shortages. American wisdom and courage right now can set a path to follow in the future." Jimmy Carter, almost 30 years ago.

Sorry, Jeff, but the Republicans/conservatives do not have a very good track record on this issue. Why should anyone believe them now?

-vince foster type 'suicide'

Tin-foil hat paranoia is an ugly thing to watch.

Funny, but ugly.

The Clinton's are on the verge of losing all respect within the Democratic Party.

Bill's ego can't handle playing second fiddle to Obama, and Hillary can't stand the fact she lost.

Hillary, and ONLY Hillary, is responsible for retaining the staff that planned horribly - even when it was readily apparent they hadn't even planned for a post Super Tuesday campaign. That does NOT show leadership. It is exactly what W did in retaining incompetent fools.

Meanwhile on the ranch, idiot supporters of Hillary would rather lose the election than support the man who WON the nomination fair and square.

Got news for ya. If Hillary doesn't get in line, concede, and get her supporters fully behind Obama, she'll be a pariah in Congress and America like we've never seen before. She'll make Joe Lieberman look like a Yellow Dog Democrat in comparison.

"lmao!! At least we know one thing, were the impossible to happen. and it should BE impossible, and Obama were to somehow lose, it would be every one's fault but his own."

Thee hath committed a mortal sin, thou hast alluded to defeat of The One, He Is Who He Is, in the Holy Election and thou shalt suffer the wrath of the disciples. Henceforth, thou shalt daily annoint thyself with ashes and be banished to the netherlands of the Republican Party with the other demons despised by the Chosen Ones.

Not as purely ugly as the purist form of stupidty exhibited by Americunt, but funnier.

Foreign producers would just cut their output to keep prices high.

So, it's one big, global conspiracy then? Why in the hell would OPEC sit back and watch American produced oil grab an ever-increasing share of the market?

Right you are, if we continue to think oil will be our future then our future expectations will be worse but if we start building alternatives to oil it is a different story. The drilling issue is not even a real issue for McCain, it was just a nice sounding argument to throw out because he doesn't have any issues. Most intelligent folks realize this Jeff, I'm surprised you have been sucked in.

Have you actually looked at McCain's energy proposals, particularly in regards to alternative, newly-developing energy technologies? I won't do your homework for you - check it out and then when you do, maybe you won't allow your ignorance and partisanship allow you to make such an uninformed proclamation. Further, maybe you'll realize that not everybody who disagrees with your worldview is simply an un-thinking sheep. Fact is, oil is and will be our primary energy source, particularly in regards to transportation, for the next 20-50 years. Until a viable alternative emerges and the infrastructure necessary to support it is built, we have to deal with the practical reality that is oil. I would gladly replace oil with another energy source provided said source is:
1. comparable or better in terms of output per unit
2. is comparable or better in terms of cost
3. is as simple and convenient to replenish as going to the pumps is now.
I can tell you this, I am quite confident that a majority of Americans won't latch onto a different energy source unless it meets the 3 criteria just stated. If Obama and his supporters want to shy away from the reality that is oil out of a devotion to feel-good bullshit, it only makes him even more detestable as a candidate.

The following is classic Danni-ism at its finest. I will translate each numbered point.

"To what do you attribute McCain's closing in the polls"

1. media wants it close for higher ratings.

Translation: It's all a big conspiracy. The big, bad nefarious media, even though it has clearly been in the tank for Obama, is out to get us all.

2. the oil drilling nonsense
3. tax cut b.s.
4. attack ads

Translation: People who don't share my worldview are simply idiots. They swallow whatever is peddled without thinking. If the rest of this country was smart like me, we'd have a 1-party system with a 100% Democratic majority in both houses and nothing but Democratic presidents from now until eternity.

5. racism

Ah yes, it had to happen sooner or later. Obama will get over 92% of the black vote and McCain won't get anything near of that percentage of the white vote. Yet, any closing in the polls has to be attributed to racism.

This entire post was classic Danni and can be summed up as follows:

1. Everybody who disagrees with me is an ignorant and stupid.

2. The only reason anyone who disagrees with me who possesses even a remote pulse of intellect and cynicism have been duped by BS and attack ads.

3. Their side is bigoted and nefarious while my side is accepting, pure and sheer genius.

It would be better had I said "You forgot the "You are sincerely a" part.
Right AllAmerican?

"That Carter quote was nothing but a platitude."

Then that pretty much describes "If we all sit on our hands regarding this issue, the problem as it is now will only be worse in the future."

"This entire post was classic Danni and can be summed up as follows:"

Not only is Danni permanently missing a few dots on her dice, she's been hitting that bong for several hours by this time. I usually just look at the time of her posts and ignore them if it's after 10:00 A.M. She'll be taking her little nappy-poo about noon and may be semi-lucid for a while after about 2:00 P.M.

Then that pretty much describes "If we all sit on our hands regarding this issue, the problem as it is now will only be worse in the future."

Except that my comment was coupled with a proposed course of action, thus it's not just a platitude.

Ah yes, it had to happen sooner or later. Obama will get over 92% of the black vote and McCain won't get anything near of that percentage of the white vote. Yet, any closing in the polls has to be attributed to racism.

This is a bogus analogy considering the great majority of African-Americans traditionally vote Democrat. Moreover, if you look at early polling in the Dem primary you will see that Clinton polled very well with African-American voters until the media made race an issue.

It is a convenient, yet logically unsound, position taken by the right as a means to make themselves feel better about any "closet-racism" they may have - granted, it is my opinion, and I really hope it is true, that those who will not vote for Obama because of his race are few and far between.

On that, I don't want to make this thread about race as race isn't really an issue here.

"Except that my comment was coupled with a proposed course of action"

Whoops. From that same speech:

Point one: I am tonight setting a clear goal for the energy policy of the United States. Beginning this moment, this Nation will never use more foreign oil than we did in 1977 -- never. From now on, every new addition to our demand for energy will be met from our own production and our own conservation. The generation-long growth in our dependence on foreign oil will be stopped dead in its tracks right now and then reversed as we move through the 1980's, for I am tonight setting the further goal of cutting our dependence on foreign oil by one-half by the end of the next decade -- a saving of over 4 1/2 million barrels of imported oil per day.

Point two: To ensure that we meet these targets, I will use my Presidential authority to set import quotas. I'm announcing tonight that for 1979 and 1980, I will forbid the entry into this country of one drop of foreign oil more than these goals allow. These quotas will ensure a reduction in imports even below the ambitious levels we set at the recent Tokyo summit.

Point three: To give us energy security, I am asking for the most massive peacetime commitment of funds and resources in our Nation's history to develop America's own alternative sources of fuel -- from coal, from oil shale, from plant products for gasohol, from unconventional gas, from the Sun.

I propose the creation of an energy security corporation to lead this effort to replace 2 1/2 million barrels of imported oil per day by 1990. The corporation will issue up to $5 billion in energy bonds, and I especially want them to be in small denominations so that average Americans can invest directly in America's energy security.

Just as a similar synthetic rubber corporation helped us win World War II, so will we mobilize American determination and ability to win the energy war. Moreover, I will soon submit legislation to Congress calling for the creation of this Nation's first solar bank, which will help us achieve the crucial goal of 20 percent of our energy coming from solar power by the year 2000.

These efforts will cost money, a lot of money, and that is why Congress must enact the windfall profits tax without delay. It will be money well spent. Unlike the billions of dollars that we ship to foreign countries to pay for foreign oil, these funds will be paid by Americans to Americans. These funds will go to fight, not to increase, inflation and unemployment.

Point four: I'm asking Congress to mandate, to require as a matter of law, that our Nation's utility companies cut their massive use of oil by 50 percent within the next decade and switch to other fuels, especially coal, our most abundant energy source.

Point five: To make absolutely certain that nothing stands in the way of achieving these goals, I will urge Congress to create an energy mobilization board which, like the War Production Board in World War II, will have the responsibility and authority to cut through the redtape, the delays, and the endless roadblocks to completing key energy projects.

"which will help us achieve the crucial goal of 20 percent of our energy coming from solar power by the year 2000."

Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the roof of the White House. In one of his very first acts as president Reagan ordered them removed.

As I said earlier, your side does not have a very good track record on this issue. Why should anyone believe them now?

From now on, every new addition to our demand for energy will be met from our own production and our own conservation.

Too bad Dems have continually blocked increased domestic production.

To ensure that we meet these targets, I will use my Presidential authority to set import quotas. I'm announcing tonight that for 1979 and 1980, I will forbid the entry into this country of one drop of foreign oil more than these goals allow.

Even if need and demand exceeds what his mandate allows? Enacting this as policy would have created fuel shortages here in the U.S. We already had that during Carter's term and it was ugly.

I propose the creation of an energy security corporation to lead this effort to replace 2 1/2 million barrels of imported oil per day by 1990. The corporation will issue up to $5 billion in energy bonds, and I especially want them to be in small denominations so that average Americans can invest directly in America's energy security.

Even if different sources are less efficient and more expensive? No wonder Carter is in the bottom-10 presidents in our nation's history. His adherence to feel-good over economic-practicality is astounding.

These efforts will cost money, a lot of money, and that is why Congress must enact the windfall profits tax without delay.

This is beyond stupid and is downright dangerous. A windfall profits tax? What constitutes 'windfall' and who decides this? Since when is a successful business operating at a profit a punitive occurrence? The bigger picture here is that he is suggesting that the government decide how much profit is "appropriate" and that the government confiscate earned monies that exceed his definition of 'appropriate' profits. It's no wonder that Carter lost his re-election bid in a landslide.

You know, Jeff, I am surprised you're not smarter than that. You claimed your comment wasn't a platitude because it was "coupled with a proposed course of action." You were saying that Carter's comment (which I posted) was a platitude because there wasn't a proposed course of action.

Instead of going off condemning each of Carter's points (which wasn't MY point) you should have said that, yes, Carter did include a course of action with his "There will be other cartels and other shortages. American wisdom and courage right now can set a path to follow in the future" comment.

Instead, you just impeached your own argument.

Truth,

I attacked Carter's points because I vehemently disagreed with some of them.

That said, you are absolutely correct, his original comment was not just a platitude. I meant to acknowledge that but instead got caught up dissecting his proposal. I didn't intend to move the goal posts, I simply shifted gears and went in a different direction a bit too quickly.

"and did not rule out the possibility of having her name placed into nomination at the convention alongside Sen. Barack Obama's."

I haven't ruled out the possibility of winning the lottery but I'm not holding my breath.

"Even if need and demand exceeds what his mandate allows? Enacting this as policy would have created fuel shortages here in the U.S. We already had that during Carter's term and it was ugly."

We never had any shortages of oil because of Carter's quotas but we did because of the oil embargo. YOu seem to assume that if quotas had limited supply that Americans would not then have figured out some new sources of energy. That is a very negative view.

Fuck Hillary,

Give Paris a floor vote.

It would be totally hot!

She'd crush the old wrinkly dude.

Is Danni writing her autobiography?

On topic, I believe Hillary is posturing herself for the 2012 election. She knows her chances are better to win the nomination if a Republican is in the White House. Thus, Hillary's "floor nomination" tactic is an effort to weaken Obama's chances in November.

"Clinton Doesn't Rule Out Floor Nomination"

OK, I'll nominate her for 'Linoleum Floor Of The Year'

I take that back.

Are you serious? I'll bet there isn't a poster, including the Obamaiacs, that does.

At least it's new material unlike your worn out act

You're waiting for an Andrew Dice Clay career comeback aren't you?

and Obama were to somehow lose, it would be every one's fault but his own.

A co-worker just made a great point when I brought this statement up. You can't really put blame on anyone else, but if Clinton supporters don't show up to vote for him, and he loses, those Clinton supporters better not expect any support from the Obama side come 2012. You get what you give.

Got news for ya. If Hillary doesn't get in line, concede, and get her supporters fully behind Obama, she'll be a pariah in Congress and America like we've never seen before. She'll make Joe Lieberman look like a Yellow Dog Democrat in comparison.

Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2008-08-07 10:07 AM |

WTF are you talking about? She conceded long ago. She made excellent speech for her supporters to support Obama. She has done all she can to throw support for Obama.

Dems aren't goosesteppers like republicans. Many just don't fucking like Obama, and honestly feel McCain would be a better President. Can't you grasp these simple concepts?

Obama will win--hell Bugs Bunny should be able to get more votes than McCaib--but it is painfully obvious that Obama is the second best candidate, as explained several times. He won no big blue states--got the nomination from the red states---and now people are confused as to why the election is close--people like you.

BB

She did not 'concede'. She 'suspended' her campaign rather than ending it with finality. Her supporters haven't gotten the memo yet.

Sounds like a concession speech to me. Call it what you like.

You still have the flawed thinking that if you voted for Clinton you MUST vote for Obama. That is as stupid as saying if you voted for Bush--you MUST vote for McCain since he is the same thing in just a slightly different empty suit.

There is nothing more Clinton can do to get her supporters to support Obama.

You should get another name. How about--MywayRhyway--much more apt--and your jokes really do suck donkey dick.

Hmmm. I've always been pretty nice to you BB

The fact that tomorrow Obama will be on his way to Hawaii for a weeks vacation while Clinton holds a campaign event for him in Nevada seems to have escaped Anemic Uterus' notice, not to mention the 1/2 million dollars she has raised for him.

But then, bricks ARE meant to be thick, aren't they?

Bill is almost openly hostile, Hil is making this about her, Obama can't figure out what to do and the Dems are split - pretty straightforward really.

The sound you hear is the wheels coming off the campaign - well done the Dems are doing McCains work for him and to be honest he has needed the help - so thanks!!

There is nothing more Clinton can do to get her supporters to support Obama.

How about a clear and unambiguous, "I call on my supporters to support Barack Obama wholeheartedly, and to cease any and all efforts on my behalf".

Then trot out a humble Bill Clinton to offer his complete and unambiguous support of Obama.

Their 'concessions' have been lukewarm and ambiguous at best.

Time for the two of them to lay down their egos and do what's best for the Democratic candidate.

The fact idiots like Corky are still railing on about Clinton and bashing Obama is proof positive of everything I've just laid out.

But be careful of him, Bob.

Too much reality causes him to hold his breath 'till he turns purple while posting demeaning threads about other Members, then threatening to leave forever.

Several times now.

And a 'suspension' of a candidacy is bullshit.

A decent politican 'ends' their campaign, they don't play donkey ball with their actions.

CORKY

You're one to whine.

You've lost all credibility around here.

Commiserate with your one Clinton supporter who won't give up.

Obama Denies Rift with Clinton; Says Unification has Been Seamless--
by Bonney Kapp
Barack Obama paid a brief visit to the small group of reporters traveling with his campaign on the eve of his Hawaiian vacation - likely the last time hell take questions before his week-long family trip. Curious of news that Senator Clinton recently asked that her delegates have a voice during the upcoming Democratic Convention, reporters focused much of their attention on the nature of the two former rivals relationship.

I spoke to Sen. Clinton this week. Shes campaigning for me in Nevada and Florida and she is very enthusiastic about the need for a unified party. I think were gonna have a terrific convention,-- Obama explained, adding Were still working out the mechanics of the four days and our staffs are in communication with Sen. Clintons staffs. But I dont anticipate any problems.--

While Senator Clinton has expressed that she does not believe she will steal the nomination in a brokered convention, it would still likely highlight any divisions within the Party. Obama would not speculate on how the dilemma will resolve itself, but did say their respective teams-- would work out the details.

A reporter wondered if having Clintons name entered in nomination would be cathartic-- as opposed to divisive. I dont think were looking for catharsis. I think what were looking for is energy and excitement about the prospects of changing this country, and I think that people supported a whole range of different candidates during the primary are gonna come out of that convention feeling absolutely determined that weve got to take the White House back,-- Obama replied.

Obama appeared annoyed when pressed on why the matter has yet to be resolved just days out of the convention. There hasnt been controversy other than what you guys are projecting right now,-- he implored.

Although Clintons supporters are talking about voting for their former candidate on the Convention floor, Obama said talks with her staff have been seamless.--

So whats the problem? A reporter wondered whats so hard about making the decision - yes or no. Just because I am not answering your question doesnt mean that it is hard. It is getting worked out by our staffs.--

embeds.blogs.foxnews.com

Of course, had Obama's "staff" worked this out a little sooner, there would be no controversy.

You know, nothing for pissants like Anemic Uterus to whine about.

not to mention the 1/2 million dollars she has raised for him.

She raised that for Obama or did Obama raise that for her to retire her debt?

Didn't teh Dems do this with Carter and Kennedy?

Romney suspended his campaign--so did Huckabee (I think?).

What's the big deal?

If HIllary wants her name to be read out for the floor nomination --so what!

Obama still leads by 80 votes--no problem.

Apparently she hasn't told those delegates to vote for Obama.

For all intense purposes--she's screwing with him.

Gotta love it--lol

Hey Nappy? I know you're proud of this because you posted it in other threads, so iit's gonna be like beating a puppy when I have to tell you this.

When doing satire, there has to be some relevance to the topic at hand. What does a brain in a jar have to do with Hillary? That's right, nothing. The movie you linked to was about a woman who got angry because someone else wouldn't let HER die.

You should have at least linked us to a poster about some movie/game/book wherein the creature/woman/whatever just wouldn't quit no matter how many times you kill it. Like.. The Thing.. or Castlevania.. or maybe.. Erin Brockovich *snicker*.

Bullshit CORKY. Bullshit.

If Clinton had "suspended' her campaign a month earlier when it was clear she wouldn't win, if she hadn't made statements praising McCain, if she'd just not been an idiot like her followers, we'd be a lot further along.

Instead we have fucking idiots like you rah rah-ing deplorable behavior for a major presidential candidate.

She has blown any chance of ever being the Democratic nominee.

BTW, I just sent in my $2300 check to the Obama campaign.

You're running on hormones instead of using your friggin' head. You trying to win a pantsuit by spamming threads about how Hillary deserves this and deserves that. The PARTY deserves better than you idiots dish out.

Maybe if Hillary is nice, Obama might fill her tires? No doubt proper tire inflation would help Hillary and all of us!

How about a clear and unambiguous, "I call on my supporters to support Barack Obama wholeheartedly, and to cease any and all efforts on my behalf".

Can you fucking read at all? I gave you her concession speech. Here is what she said.

"Today, as I suspend my campaign, I congratulated him on the victory he has won. ... I endorse him and throw my full support behind him."

"Then trot out a humble Bill Clinton to offer his complete and unambiguous support of Obama."

Bill Clinton isn't running. He has to say nothing.

Obama just has to convince the voters of the blue states to support him, since he didn't win any in the primaries. That's not Clintons problem.

Try putting the problems where they belong. Obama. He's the second best candidate. The polls showed it all along and they confirm it every day. Clinton had 327 EVs on her last day of campaigning. She had Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, WVa, and Arkansas turning red. How's Obama doing in those states today?

Don't blame Clinton for this being a close election--blame the flawed dem primary that gave more weight to Alaska than Ohio, and put forth the second best candidate.

"He's the second best candidate. The polls showed it all along"

That's a lie. In the TRUE polling places---the voting booth---he won.

BUFFALOwhatever.....

You're delusional. Goatman's right about you.

It is Bill's DUTY to support our candidate.

Hillary should have quit a month earlier.

Her negatives are over 50%, therefore she would not have done as well as Obama is in the general election. Republicans would have been motivated by her candidacy and turned out in droves for pure spite.

Finish whatever you're drinking. I'm done with you for now. Can't talk sense with an idiot.

That's a lie. In the TRUE polling places---the voting booth---he won.

It was a flawed primary that gave more weight to Alaska than Ohio. A flawed primary that put forth the red state candidate. Obama won none of the big blue states. Facts are facts. You seem to ignore reality.

You're delusional. Goatman's right about you.

What delusions are you talking about? I can back up every statement I made with facts.

It is Bill's DUTY to support our candidate.

Who says? You?

"Hillary should have quit a month earlier."

She was showing far ahead of Obama a month earlier. Why should she have quit? She is still showing far ahead of Obama in the polls. Don't forget. The only match up where Obama wins is the flawed dem primary that gave more weight to the red states and more weight to caucuses than to primaries. If the primaries were held like the general election, Obama would have been out in April.

"Her negatives are over 50%, therefore she would not have done as well as Obama is in the general election. Republicans would have been motivated by her candidacy and turned out in droves for pure spite."

You are mistaken. You seem to ignore reality in that she always showed better than Obama in the polls. Not everyone is as full of hate as you.

"Finish whatever you're drinking. I'm done with you for now. Can't talk sense with an idiot."

Tired of getting your ass kicked with reality. I can understand that. Run along punk. Keep blaming Clinton for Obamas weak showing. He should be around 350 EVs now.

"Obama won none of the big blue states. Facts are facts. You seem to ignore reality."

Hillary's not running in any of the blue states. Obama's winning all those selfsame blue states. Facts are facts. You seem to ignore reality.

But then again, we've come to expect that from you.

Danforth

Of course Obama is winning those states. How about winning the red states that nominated him. He is running close in the blue states because he was their second choice. That's why the election is close. Obama will win, and be a great President. But it doesn't mitigate the FACTS. This is a close election because the dems put out the second best candidate because of their flawed primary system. It doesn't mitigate the FACT that Obama would have been out long ago if the dem primary were held like the general election. It doesn't mitigate the FACT that Obama loses under EVERY OTHER comparison between the two except the flawed dem primary.

It is not Clintons fault that voters aren't clamoring to vote for Obama. It is not Clintons fault Obama is struggling.

You seem to want to make up your own facts and blame Clinton for Obamas poor showing. It is not her fault. It is the fault of the flawed dem primary that this election is close. Had Clinton been the niminee, she would be around 350 EVs by now. She won the blue states and had Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, WVa, and Arkansas turning deep red. How is Obama doing in those states? Got facts?

Didn't think so.

Obama will win the election---not because of who he is or what he stands for. He will win because he is not a republican. ANY dem put forth this year would have won. The republicans have 8 years of raping America as a platform, and the weakest candidate in their history. The only question is how close it would be. Kucinich would have won this year if he were the nominee.

-Kucinich would have won this year if he were the nominee.

In my dreams.

" It doesn't mitigate the FACT that Obama would have been out long ago if the dem primary were held like the general election."

And it doesn't mitigate the FACT if we made the highest golf scores win, I'd be a better golfer than Tiger Woods...as long as we're dealing in unrealistic fantasy.

"Obama will win, and be a great President. But it doesn't mitigate the FACTS"

You don't believe that. If you did, you wouldn't pretend the latter is on the same plane as the former. But I get it; your candidate didn't win, so you're intent on poisoning the well.

You still haven't addressed the fact that Alaska was given more weight than Ohio, or that caucuses were given more weight than primaries. Your deflection to golf shows your failure to deal with the fact that the dem primary is flawed and put out the second best candidate. A candidate that only wins in a flawed comparison.

"Obama will win, and be a great President. But it doesn't mitigate the FACTS"

You don't believe that. If you did, you wouldn't pretend the latter is on the same plane as the former.

I absolutley believe Obama will be a great President, and be a better President than Clinton. If you could go back a year or so in posts you would have seen one where I wanted anyone except Clinton because of the devisiveness she would have brought to the country. However, since then I have come to the conclusion that no matter who wins--the country will always be divided from now on. But my guy was always Kucinich. After that--any dem would have done fine. The reason I think Obama will be great is because he comes in relatively unencumbered by debts to other politicians and business, and I think he is an honest person.

But I get it; your candidate didn't win, so you're intent on poisoning the well.

You don't get anything. You just aren't used to talking to someone who isn't as biased and closed minded as yourself. I can see the facts and evaluate them for what they are. You seem to have to spin things to your concept of reality. An example is, I think JFK was a great President, and the country would be in a much better place today had he not been assassinated. But I also think JFK had Marilyn Monroe killed.

Facts are Obama only wins in the flawed dem primary. If the primaries were held like the general election--you get the best candidate for the general election. I suppose that makes no sense to you, but it is true, and had it been done that way--Clinton wins.

Facts are if the dem primary were held like the republican primary, Clinton wins.

Facts are Clinton was way ahead of Obama in the polls on the last day of her campaign.

Facts are, Clinton had Ohio, Florida, WVa, Kentucky, and Arkansas turning deep blue.

Facts are, Obama is behind in those states.

Facts are Obama is in a tight race and carrying few of the states that gave him the nomination. He is carrying the states where he came in second to Clinton.

That's why the race is close.

" A candidate that only wins in a flawed comparison."

And a Democratic primary.

"Facts are Obama only wins in the flawed dem primary."

But that's only your opinion about the dem primary.

"If the primaries were held like the general election..."

But they're not.

"had had it been done that way--Clinton wins."

And had a lot of football games had five quarters, other teams would've won, too.

"Facts are if the dem primary were held like the republican primary, Clinton wins."

Facts are, it's not.

"Facts are Clinton was way ahead of Obama in the polls on the last day of her campaign."

Facts are Obama was still ahead of Clinton in delegates on the last day of her campaign. ADDITIONAL FACT: The nomination is based>i> on DELEGATES, not POLLS.

Danforth

I'm just explaining why Obama is having such a hard time.

Facts are--he's the second best candidate.

You seem to think I am concerned with the last primary season. No. Only you are concerned with the last primary season.

You seem to think I am concerned about Obama winning over Clinton. No. Only you are concerned with Clinton.

You seem to think that the dems putting forth the second best candidate is a good thing. No. As stated--if the republicans weren't putting forth the worst candidate in their history, the dems would be losing.

Let me make it clear and see if it can get through. I am concerned with the flawed dem primary putting out the second best candidate in 2016--after Obamas term has ended.

My point is that the primaries should be run like the general election so that the best candidate is put forth.

Your point seems to be that we should give the red states more weight than the blue states.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

Danforth

And I see you are still ignoring the facts stated.

Facts are, Clinton had Ohio, Florida, WVa, Kentucky, and Arkansas turning deep blue.

Bullshit.

She won the primaries. Turn Blue: Kentucky? Are you out of your mind? West Virginia? Geesh.

His insistence that he is espousing fact versus opinion here is a great illustration

"If the primary were held like the general election, Obama would have lost big time."

It wasn't. Do you understand that? The rules are different, and Obama won.

And he's going to win in November with a greater number of Dems in Congress than Hillary would have brought. By definition, that makes him the stronger candidate, especially since a 3 EV victory gets the same office as a 300 EV victory. And since you've already admitted Obama will win, the question becomes who brings the most along with them. Hillary would've brought less.

Put up or shut up loudmouth. Which of my stated facts do you say is opinion, and why? Simple isn't it.

;-)

Looks like Buffalo Bob has reeled in another one. Guess there's always someone to fill Goatman's shoes.

Nullifidian

When you have nothing to say, try to use fewer words.

"IT IS ABOUT FUTURE PRIMARIES..."

If that were true, you'd start this in mid-November. That you're bitching about it now is all sour grapes. I notice you were nowhere to be seen when Obama had a 107 EV lead at ev.com. You only bring this up every time it swings a little closer.

"...SO DEMS DON'T PUT OUT THE WEAKEST CANDIDATE..."

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. But you claim it as fact, whereas I believe (my opinion) the one who will bring the most Dems along this November should be considered the strongest candidate, especially since you've admitted Dems will win the White House.

IT IS ABOUT FUTURE PRIMARIES SO DEMS DON'T PUT OUT THE WEAKEST CANDIDATE.

The only solution to this problem is to stop letting psycho lunatic extreme leftwing wackos vote in primaries......but that wouldn't very nice to not let you vote psycholunaticbob.

some lefties here including bob don't understand that THEY are the people who represent the lunatic fringe that dems don't even like but are forced to appease in a primary.

Which of my stated facts do you say is opinion, and why?

Danforth beat me to it.

If that were true, you'd start this in mid-November.

No one will give a shit about it in mid November, and the dem primary won't be a factor in 2012 because of Obamas incumbancy. We will coast into 2016 with the same flaws, and in 2016, I am sure the reps will come up with a better candidate than McCain.

That you're bitching about it now is all sour grapes.

Again, no matter how many times I say it--I'm fine with Obama, and think he will be a better President than Clinton. That the facts I state favor Clinton makes you think I favor her shows your stupidity--not my bias towards her.

I notice you were nowhere to be seen when Obama had a 107 EV lead at ev.com. You only bring this up every time it swings a little closer.

You mean like here?

electoral-vote.com

There was no hundred vote EV lead. You just don't know how to read the map.

Strong and weak dem--243EVs

Strong and weak rep--154Evs

Statistical ties--141

That is a close race.

Now here is a 100EV point lead.

electoral-vote.com

Strong and weak dem--312

Strong and weak rep--168

Statistical tie--58

I don't bring this stuff up until someone starts bad mouthing Clinton and then calling for party unity. Where Obama is in the polls has nothing to do with it, because it has ALWAYS been close with Obama. I think that as we get closer to election time, Obama will pull ahead, and win by more than a hundred EVs. I think Ohio and Florida will come around. That Clinton may have won by more is a moot point. That Kucinich might have won by less is a moot point. However, that doesn't invalidate any of my statements. You attack me rather than accept the facts. How about that.

;-)

"...SO DEMS DON'T PUT OUT THE WEAKEST CANDIDATE..."

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

It is not my opinion that Alaska was given more weight than Ohio. It is not my opinion that caucuses of red states were given more weight than primaries as to delegate count. If you think those factors put out the stronger candidate over running the primaries like the general election, I question your judgement.

But you claim it as fact

As I have shown again and again and you have not refuted. What part don't you get?

whereas I believe (my opinion) the one who will bring the most Dems along this November should be considered the strongest candidate, especially since you've admitted Dems will win the White House.

It is my opinion that the one who brings the most dems to the voting booth is the strongest candidate. In all comparisons EXCEPT THE DEM PRIMARY that candidate was Clinton.

I have shown you time and again how Clinton was the stronger candidate, and how and why the dem primary is flawed.

Now.

Your turn.

Explain to me how giving Alaska more weight than Ohio is a good thing for putting out the best candidate.

and

Any national comparison other than the dem primary where Obama shows better than Clinton.

The fat lady has not sung yet.

"As I have shown again and again and you have not refuted"

One doesn't "refute" another's opinion.

"I have shown you time and again how Clinton was the stronger candidate, and how and why the dem primary is flawed."

No, you have given your opinion as to why you believe Clinton would have made a better candidate, and your opinion as to why you believe the Dem primary system is flawed.

"Explain to me how giving Alaska more weight than Ohio is a good thing for putting out the best candidate."

Obama will bring more Dems along with him.

"Any national comparison other than the dem primary where Obama shows better than Clinton."

Obama will bring more Dems along with him.

"It is my opinion that the one who brings the most dems to the voting booth is the strongest candidate."

And it is my opinion the one who brings the most candidates to Washington with him is the strongest candidate. And since you already admitted Obama will win, the Congressional races now become the central issue.
