A couple months back, I was not an Obama fan and was hoping someone - anyone -- would come out of the woodwork and give me someone else to vote for besides him or 8 more years of Bush policies with John McCain.

But the last few weeks I have really been listening and watching Obama. I think he is handling the Iraq situation quite well. Face it, the only way this war in Iraq will ever be "won" is not using our full military force on scattered groups that change daily, but thru negotiations with the heads of the many various Iraqi clans, militia groups, tribes, neighborhood gangs, and the current Iraqi politicans.

I like the idea that Obama has enough of a brain (waaaaay more than Bush) to have realized that we need to get our troops over to Afghanistan ASAP and start lessening our troop presence in Iraq and ressolve it thru more diplomatic measures.

If Obama loses this election is will be solely because he wants a wide open border, unlimited immigration (legal and illegal as he refuses to recognize any difference) plus he insists on giving all illegals also drivers' licenses.

If any, his pro-illegal immigration and open borders agenda is THE single issue that will take him down. The media isn't talking about it at all but it gets a LOT of airplay on local radio talk shows.

Obama's talk about having a good health care plan for all Americans means jack crap if our medical system would also have to absorb all 22 million illegals here now PLUS the millions and millions who will most certainly pour over our open borders for a guaranteed free health care insurance and drivers licenses.

If Obama doesn't get his head out of his butt on the immigration issue and realize we can't afford his kumbaya, open borders and free medical care for the rest of the world attitude he'll lose. That is the one issue where he can win over conservatives who are fed up with having to pay for everyone here illegally with our tax dollar.

McCain thinks just like Obama on illegal immigration (McCain is an open borders globalist) but McCain is downplaying his stance before the election. Hello everyone, As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle , got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General.
As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with
weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
