"This puts us on the path toward diversification of our energy sources so that by 2015 we should be reliant on wind for 25 percent," said Rep. Mike Villarreal, D-San Antonio.

With 5,519 megawatts of installed capacity, Texas is the nation's leader in wind power.

Texsas already leads the nation in wind generated power. In 7 years, 25% of the state's power will be from wind.

Let's hope the rest of the states follow Texas' lead. Think how much imported oil we could shuck if every state generated 25% of its power with wind in 7 years as Texas will be.

Yea, but hot air will only take you so far....

That's right. 25% in this case. Wish the other states were smart enough to do this, too. Think how much oil we could 'just say no' to.

I am surprised. I thought Liberals would be happy with a red state like Texas using so much renewable resources.

It is time to put up or shut up. Dems whine the whine but don't walk their talk.
There should be more than a few under construction.
Why do dems want to keep buying foreign oil?

Because windmills block the nice view.
