The Liberal Canadian gov't of 2003 rejected the phony, illegal excuses made for invading Iraq and refused to be bullied into participation in the "Coalition of the Billing".

Originally Spud thought Canada was doing right by denying safe haven to deserters of the Iraq conflict cos it was an all volunteer army.

Since then the overly stretched troops have been bombarded with PTSD inducing tours of duty replete with stop loss orders and the like. The National Guard has officially become the international guard.

That sed, Bush-lite (aka Steven Harper) aint gonna be changing Canada's position on the matter anytime soon cos he's such a huge suck-up to the BushCo boys.

In Vietnam people were drafted, coerced, into war. Nowadays we have an all-volunteer military so I see no problem with Canada not welcoming these people. When you volunter for the U.S. armed forces you should know that most of the "wars" you will fight will not be to defend American interests, but rather to be the world's corporate rent-a-cop. You need to understand this before you sign up and deal with the consequences.

People dont hear when they arent listening. Alot of people come to the military trying to make it a 9 to 5. They come thinking they have, for lack of a better word, rights and such that the military doesnt put up with. The military has it's own culture and there are times that liberals who couldnt find a job the way they wanted it in the world, come into the military and try to mold it to civilian standards. Those are the washouts, usually. Recruits conform to the military, and it's not the other way around. It's funny to see people who are obviously from liberal families come into the military. They love to say stuff like, But that's not fair, and we laugh our asses off. Liberals dont seem to understand that life isnt fair...
