It was a house like any other, in a peaceful Wisconsin neighborhood -- until the unthinkable happened there.

dang looked like a nice house too.
Shame it had to go but I can understand the reasoning.

If a murder was committed in a home, most realtors are obligated by law to disclose that fact to potential buyers.
Ghosts of people who died violently sometimes come back to haunt the place where they met their demise. I wonder if ghosts would still haunt the property if the house where they were killed was destroyed?

The only "ghosts" in that house most likely are the bodies buried in the walls. i.e. whatever the real reason so many people donated money to have the place destroyed.

The house that was owned by John Wayne Gacy, and the site where he buried 31 of his victims, in the crawl space, was torn down and all the soil under it was removed.
The house that was built on the site sticks out like a sore thumb. It's a much newer design than all the other houses in the neighborhood, so it kind of draws you're attention.

What a waste over superstitious nonsense. There are probably few spots on the planet where atrocities have not taken place over the course of human history. Is every place haunted?

I agree, that money could have been used for a much better cause.

Sad, but for that community a necessary but nonetheless superstitious response to a very tragic event.

I bet the owner of the house was glad. I think it was a nice gesture that the families will draw comfort from every time the see that vacant piece of land. Their neighbors cared enough to donate so that the reminder of so much pain may be removed from their sight. I only wish I had such caring neighbors.

My house was bought new by a young Marine Corps pilot and his wife, their initials are carved into the tree out back. He was killed in Beirut, and she couldn't keep it up, so we bought it. Several years ago I was taking a picture of a butterfly on one of my plants. When I uploaded the shots I saw what I thought was a person standing by my poplar trees, looking towards the back, where the tree with the carved initials is.
Can you see him?

My Dad committed Suicide in Oregon in His Home by gun. As the Trustee I asked the Realetor if I had to disclose this. She said that in Oregon that doesn't have to be disclosed. I don't know if they ever found out. I live in S.W. Missouri so Inever had to see the Buyers. I told the Agent that if they asked why it was being sold to go ahead and tell them if she wanted too,but she never said anything about after that one conversation.

Brit: your photo looks like an out of focus impressionist painting, and I don't see the figure you mention.
Which isn't to say I don't think this world has it's share of ghosts roaming about.
24 years ago, my wife and I moved into an apartment in Mpls. I awoke one night absolutely frozen in terror to see a group of 5 or 6 of what I would describe as migrant worker Hispanics or Indians at the foot of our bed, silently saring down at me. I was so scared, all I could do was close my eyes, and hope they'd go away. I fell asleep again pretty quickly, as I recall.
The next morning I told my wife of my experience. Her jaw dropped; the previous night, the exact same thing had happened to her, the same exact apparitions standing at the foot of our bed. She didn't tell me what she saw because she thought I tell her she was crazy, so she talked herself into believing she had dreamed it. I know that what I saw I didn't dream. I also know that a group of 5 or 6 migrant workers didn't climb our stairs and unlock our door just to look at us asleep.
Perhaps something happened to them at one time in that apartment, or on that land; something that drew their energies back. This world is a mysterious place, that's for sure.

It was the houses' fault that someone got murdered there. F*****g libs always think an inamanate object can do harm.

People, the house wasn't torn down for superstitious reasons -- that's just where the thread turned.
The house was torn down because it would be a constant reminder for the families of those affected by the tragedy. Keep in mind this is northern Wisconsin -- people have a tendency to not move out of a town, so there'd be lots of family of those killed looking at that house for a long, long time.
It was an attempt at healing, not an attempt at exorcism.

If they would have applied for a govt grant, they could have put it on wheels, moved it to the inner city and turned it into section 8 housing and eventually it would make an excellent crack house.

I have a couple of true ghost stories. I don't claim to know what it is, but things do happen.

I saw your ghost right away. He looks as though he's wearing brown pants, a long sleeved white shirt, his right arm is slightly behind him, with his back to the photo. Also, he oddly appears to be leaning back on something with his knees slightly bent yet there appears to be nothing underneath him. Are you seeing the same thing as I am?

OOHRAH
Study it a bit. There's a face, a shroud, and even a halo and wings.
Strangest thing I ever saw.
I'll give you the strange story behind the photo if you interested.

Took me a minute but then there she was -- large wings, both of which seem to be more to her left side as you look directly at her picture with her her face and body facing to the front. She has long hair (or high collar of some type?)and even a halo. Did you see the same thing?
Got to run to the vitamin store now so will read later.

Look a little to the right side of the photo and you'll see her face. It's not detailed like a regular photograph but it's very clearly a woman's face with a shroud, halo, wings ~ very ghostly looking.

I remember that pic from last year or the year before that had dozens of 'orbs' surrounding a little crippled boy.
Just a quick look at 'The Google' (thanks George) got a lot of hits on pics of orbs.

It was my camera, a Minolta Point N' Shoot, that was left sitting on a table while my friends and I were up at the bar ordering something to eat. I didn't take the picture ~ it just showed up on the film when I had it developed a couple weeks later.
There was no smoke because it was a non-smoking establishment. I have no idea how or why the picture got there. It just did.
I've often wondered why an angel would be in a bar but then, on second thought, what better place should she be?
I am curious about your take on this if you'd like to share it with me.

You obviously don't live town.
You did not know any of the victims, nor were related to any of them.
So you don't give a frak. Says something fundamental about you, methinks.
Take 10 bucks out of petty cash and buy yourself a cup of compassion.
