I don't know if any of you are cops (I just got hired, and had to learn a bit about deadly force); but basically, you can use deadly force at any time your life, the life of another officer, or any civilian is under threat of deadly force (even if the offender is wanted for even a minor crime or questioning). No hesitation, no warnings or warning shots, just pop. You are justified (although certainly will come under great scrutiny, so make sure it's clean).
