In the first Washington Post-ABC News poll since the Democratic nomination was decided, Barack Obama and John McCain are even among political independents, a shift toward McCain over the past month.

Let me make a small correction:

If everything is so good for Barack HUSSEIN Obama, why isn't everything so good for Barack HUSSEIN Obama?

I am sure that that is what you really wanted to write, right?

No, that is what you wrote.

Jones!

Why is it that Rethugs like Member and Johnson would be the first in line to suck a pretty black man's cock in a public restroom but would never think of voting for one????

I am just so happy to see the second coming is at hand. Barrack Hussein Obama will make everything better just follow the light and don't ask too many questions. The sooner we rid ourselves of those pesky Bible and gun carring Christions the better off we will be.

Now there's a sentence I can agree with.

Since Obama is giving up on FL and OH--his plan should really work well.

Where is his 19 point lead?

It went down again today with a new poll--Gallup I think it was..

44-42

And yes--pick Sabileus as the VP--

Should really work well with the Hillary supporters.

They are up 1.5 million now--get to 3-5 million by November--yahoo!

Obama should be far ahead of McCain at this point with the war, economy, and $4.00 gas working against the Republicans. We smell weakness and will be on you libs like pit bulls on a poodle.

i found a survey that actually lets me vote for McCain/Clinton ticket. Has anyone else tried this? www.optimize-08.com

Besides Indies drifting to McCain, the real news here is that there was no Obambounce after he won the nomination.

What's that about?

I mean, I remember being told by several people here that after he became the nominee there would be a 15 point bounce...... wtf?

Corky-
Yeah, what happened to McCain's bounce?

It may take a while for the negative effects of Hillary's negative campaign to wear off. And, of course, there are still bitter people like you Corky who are clinging to their vagina monologues. Don't worry - you and the others will come around.

Montecore

Thinking the others will "come around" is wishful thinking. You assume there aren't valid reasons for voting for McCain and against Obama. Many people do not think as you do. Millions, in fact. You denigrate Joe in his blind support of Clinton, while you have the same type of blind support for Obama. Blind support that stops you from facing reality. Reality like others having valid reasons for supporting McCain after 8 years of Bush. Facts you ignore are that Obama was the second or third choice in states totaling 430 EVs. Obama lost every major blue state. Obama lost 7 of the last 13 primaries. Obama got most of his support from the red states. The dem primary is weighted to give more power to red states--if the states were weighted as they are in the general election--Obama loses. Had the dem primary been run like the general election, Obama loses. If the dem primary were held like the republican primary--Obama loses. Obama was way behind Clinton in the polls. Clinton could have won without one Obama vote. Obama can not win without Clinton supporters. Obama will win this election--but it will be close. Much closer than if Clinton was the nominee, and Obama could lose.

The only way Obama is the nominee is by the way the dems run their primary. Their primary gave as much power to Alaska as Ohio in determining the nominee. Your blind support of Obama sees these simple facts as attacks on Obama. They are not attacks. They are simple facts.

BuffaloBob

Yesterday I heard Obama had only a 4% lead over McCain in nationwide polls for the election. 4% is within the margin of error and to be that close when Obama is running against McCain who represents the party of the worst Administration in U.S. presidential history is not a good sign!

McCain so far has done everything possible to assure us he will be a continuation of Bush's third term and follow Bush's disasterous policies in every way possible. WHY does Obama not have more of a lead in the polls? Right now 80% of this country can't stand Bush, his approval ratings are in the 20's, and you would think most of the country would lean in voting for McCain's opponen. I think the Dems maybe made a big mistake putting up an unknown guy in a year they could have walked away with the Presidency in a heartbeat. What is your opinion?

CC - if you think Hillary would have just walked away with the presidency, you are delusional. She would have stoked the fires of the Right, and all of them would have crawled from their holes, and slunk from their trailers to vote against the Evil Wicked Clinton. At the same time, I don't see that she would have brought any new, young, voters out the way I think Obama will.

" She would have stoked the fires of the Right, and all of them would have crawled from their holes, and slunk from their trailers to vote against the Evil Wicked Clinton. "

Absolutely right, which is why picking Clinton as VP would be insane.

Montecore

Not that many hate Hillary that much. Most of that hate is in your imagination, not reality. The polls clearly show you to be mistaken. Hillary haters were not excluded from the polls. Again, your blind obeisance to Obama clouds your vision of reality.

BBob - who is Joe?

Also, you wrote: "Reality like others having valid reasons for supporting McCain after 8 years of Bush. Facts you ignore are that Obama was the second or third choice in states totaling 430 EVs."

How does that "fact" I ignore make someone want to vote for McCain?

Query: who polled the highest negative, Hillary or Obama?

By the way, Bob, you are talking out of your ass a little bit. I would have been perfectly fine with Hillary as POTUS, and I would have supported her candidacy against McCain with money, time, etc. Just because I thought Obama was the better candidate (because of Hillary's votes on Iraq and Iran, which mirrored McCain's) doesn't mean I'm some sort of "blind Obama supporter." I actually think it was a crying shame that the first legitimate black candidate and the first legitimate woman candidate came at the same time.

BuffaloBob

What is your opinion?

Well?

Pollsters admit they're missing millions and millions of under 30 cell phone users in their polls - voters who will overwhelmingly go for Obama.

Corky should just get it over with and send in an absentee ballot for McCain. He/She must not really stand for anything at all but vengence and vitriol because her candidate lost the primary against an insurgent. Hillary was owed the nomination, therefore voters shouldn't have even bothered casting votes according to Corky's logic.

President Obama. Has a nice ring to it.

Hillary would have been a shoo in for VP if she and Bill had not gone nuclear with racial attacks and implying McCain and Hillary were the only ones qualified to be Commander in Chief. A lot of flag officers disagree with that assessment and so did 19,000,000 voters.

BBob - who is Joe?"

"My mistake--I meant Corky.

Also, you wrote: "Reality like others having valid reasons for supporting McCain after 8 years of Bush. Facts you ignore are that Obama was the second or third choice in states totaling 430 EVs."

"How does that "fact" I ignore make someone want to vote for McCain?"

Who said you ignoring that fact would make someone vote for McCain? I just said you were ignoring that fact as one of many showing Obama to be the second best candidate.

"Query: who polled the highest negative, Hillary or Obama?"

Among who? Republicans? Who cares. Among democrats? Who won the big blue states?

Montecore

"By the way, Bob, you are talking out of your ass a little bit. I would have been perfectly fine with Hillary as POTUS, and I would have supported her candidacy against McCain with money, time, etc."

I am just as happy with Obama and support him as well. Hillary made mistakes on her votes and I agree she voted wrong. However, I would want the strongest dem candidate to face republicans at all times. Too many factors showed Hillary to be the strongest candidate, and only the flawed dem primary put out the weaker candidate.

"Just because I thought Obama was the better candidate (because of Hillary's votes on Iraq and Iran, which mirrored McCain's) doesn't mean I'm some sort of "blind Obama supporter.""

I don't like those votes either, but still, she showed better in the polls than Obama and won on many other levels.

The fact that Obama will be elected doesn't mitigate the fact that when election time rolls around again aftger 8 years of Obama, the dems will put out the weakest candidate again because the dem primary gives too much weight to the red states. In 8 years, the republicans might not have such a weak candidate.

I actually think it was a crying shame that the first legitimate black candidate and the first legitimate woman candidate came at the same time.

My opinion is that most of it is racism. Some of it is his name. Some truly believe the republicans are right.

But you are correct. The race shouldn't be this close.

Thanks, BBob.

BBob

One more comment -- as for the race being this close, it leaves no room for error on Obama's side. There's not much we don't already know about McCain that isn't already out there in the public domain -- no surprises. But we haven't even begun to see the GOP attack machine get into gear against Obama yet. Oh well, we'll see what happens won't we.

I've kept reading about the impending GOP Obama smear machine for a couple of months now. Maybe I'll keep reading about up to the day that Obama is elected? The "liberal" (aka non-racist) media is already there to pounce on any racist BS attacks the GOP might dish.

Yeah right. The media is as much to blame for the Iraq conflict as Bush. The media promoted his lies and sold it to the public.

-Corky should just get it over with and send in an absentee ballot for McCain

-AmeriCuntVanity

I just wish whichever of you guys took this little girl's virginity would just give it back to her.

What a whiner!

I should reiterate: those of the media who are "liberal" non-racists (Olbermann, Matthews, Jon Stewart) will defend Obama from racism. I didn't mean to sound like I felt like the entirety of the media would defend him against BS.

For cryin' out loud, would the Democrats give it a break for a second?

"Instead he's losing those who value strength
and experience over change, who doubt Obama's
qualifications and who see him as a risky
choice... "

Do you think the Republicans put the Boy Dunce in office by quibbling over his experience and strength?

In opposition to everything the Boy Dunce ever was or is, Obama displays intelligence, coherence, and stability.

What more can you ask?

Having spent a little while Googling Corky's posts here's what I found:

Corky thinks:

George W Bush is as smart as John Kerry
Thinks John Edwards is a 'retard' (although he has nice hair)

Ah, I couldn't even go into all the slurs on every Democrat but Hillary Clinton going back a few years.

Corky is a fake Democrat and a Hillary groupie. Guess the girl/man wants more of the same for 4 years.

I used the search term "Corky" and "Hotair.com"

Select 'Cached' under the URL's and scroll until you see his/her posts. Pretty sick.

CORKY wants McCain to win.

It's pretty obvious

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

What a tool! Wants someone 100% juxtiposed to everything Clinton stood for.

What a tool! What a tool!

Hey, CORKY

Here's your 'red state':

www.realclearpolitics.com

Uh, who's ahead by 11%?

Vote for McCain you worthless tool!

AU

Have you seen these computer models?

There are caveats of course, but I'm a whole lot less concerned about McCain after reading this:

HISTORIANS SEE LITTLE CHANCE FOR McCAIN

Thanks TWIN. Very interesting.

That last link was Ohio.

Here's FLORIDA:

www.realclearpolitics.com

Of course, they're missing most voters under 30, who only use cell phones and are VERY motivated this year.

McCain's blathering on on C-SPAN about drilling more and building more refineries.

A. It takes YEARS to get either up and running
B. There is NO shortage of gasoline. What's all this BS about refineries? I can buy all I want. ESPECIALLY with gas so expensive, people are cutting way back on their driving - thus more gasoline available.

God, they'll stoop to anything.

Also, I've noticed they've hired screamers at McCain events. Same 4 people at every event from the sound of it.

This should be in the bag for the Dems this year.

You're welcome AU.

I'm thinking that you should be posting links to the more historically accurate computer models instead of polls.

They're a bigger bang for the buck.

Ya, you're probably right, but polls are about all we really have on a day to day basis.

As you know, historically the party that's been in power for 2 terms loses the White House. Probably will happen this year too. Especially since only 36% of Republicans are happy with their candidate.

That leaves putting wedge issues on the ballots in states to increase turnout. But, abortion and gay marriage are pretty worn out and I doubt the American public, ESPECIALLY after 8 years of criminal idiocy, will want a candidate that's just an older version of the present president.

Things are pretty well set up for a landslide. EVEN though Obama's color is an issue, it's only so for those who wouldn't have voted Democratic in the first place.

I enjoyed the article. Thanks.

Again, there's also the fact that this year voters under 30 will be turning out in record numbers. Pollsters are completely missing them in polls.

It's great to see young people fired up about our political process isn't it?

Pennsylvania:

Ohio:

Florida:

Corky?

AU

I get around Florida a lot and I don't hear much about Obama's color any more. I get the impression he's overcome that scary black man stereotype. There are pockets of racists for sure but for the most part, people are paying more attention to his words and less to his color.

He's doing a marvelous job presenting himself.

As for McCain, people are still fixated on their disgust for George Bush. However, when speaking about McCain, one plain spoken man summed it up quite nicely.

He said "He talks to us like he thinks we're all stupid."

Another woman got a standing ovation at a meeting when she stood up and said "Somebody should tell McCain that Florida is a peninsula not an island. We know what's going on."

I hope that's a harbinger of things to come on November 2 and Florida hands the GOP a blue state on a platter.

Ha ha TWIN! I don't know a single person who's voting for McCain. Well, maybe two....reluctantly.

June 18, 2008 - Obama Leads McCain In Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll Finds; Clinton On The Ticket Does Not Help Dems --- FLORIDA: Obama 47 - McCain 43; OHIO: Obama 48 - McCain 42; PENNSYLVANIA: Obama 52 - McCain 40

www.quinnipiac.edu

He's got an 11 point lead in Ohio in the PPP poll.

This could be a landslide with Obama making inroads into the West - CO, NM, maybe even Arizona (WHAT?!! yep, Arizona is even starting to turn blue).

Corky? Corky? I know you hate every Democrat but Hillary (saw it all online via Google search using 'Corky' and 'Hotair.com'as my search words), but are you REALLY going to vote for McCain - someone who stands for everything Hillary was opposed to?

Doh...sorry AU, I put that poll on the backpage before checking on this thread. You beat me to it.

Put it everywhere!

Have a good one

AU :-)

Wow!

The prepubescent cheerleader thinks that there is only one Corky in the universe. Never been to hotair, but I did check your Google and they do have one there. Lucky them.

Now if they only had AmericuntVanity.

Yeah, and other polls have Obama way ahead. Why do we keep posting poll results and then take turns agreeing that they are meaningless?

I am inclined to despise both of them.

McCain '08 eh sore loser?
