A U.S. appeals panel has upheld a deportation order against an 83-year-old Wisconsin man accused of serving as a Nazi SS guard whose duty was to finish off dying Jews in Poland. "Josias Kumpf participated in a 1943 Nazi operation that resulted in the murder of thousands of innocent victims. His culpability in this atrocity does not diminish with the passage of time," said Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew Friedrich.
