Keith Olbermann points out vividly that John McCain was as wrong about Iraq as Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, and all the PNAC crowd - from before we invaded, after we invaded, and even now. He lays it out in undeniably black and white terms using McCain's own statements below the fold and in the linked article.

McCain was as wrong as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz before we invaded, after we invaded, and even now. Rosy scenarios that never came to pass.

Why should be believe he knows what he's talking about now?

RCADE

Can you take down the other one? Thanks

The gerbil was taking a rest and the page never loaded in several minutes, so I hit "PUBLISH" again. Thus the two.

McCain's going to get hammered on Iraq and the economy, arguably the two most volitile, important, and relevant isssues in the '08 campaign.

From Carpetbagger's Report: (If you follow the link you come to this list with additional links documenting each statement).

* McCain has been confused about how many U.S. troops are in Iraq.

* McCain has been confused about whether the U.S. can maintain a long-term presence in Iraq.

* McCain has been confused about the source of violence in Iraq.

* McCain has been confused about Iran's relationship with al Qaeda.

* McCain has been confused about the difference between Sunni and Shi'ia.

* McCain has been confused about Gen. Petraeus' responsibilities in Iraq.

* McCain has been confused about what transpired during the Maliki government's recent offensive in Basra.

* McCain has been confused about Gen. Petraeus' ability to travel around Baghdad "in a non-armed Humvee."

* McCain has been so confused about Iraq, in November 2006, he couldn't even do a live interview about the war without reading prepared notes on national television.

And we're not supposed to say McCain's "confused"? Why, because it might make him sound old?

Tell you what, reporters and McCain campaign, pick a better adjective for us. "Confused" sounds like an attack on his age? Fine. You tell me. Befuddled? Bewildered? Baffled?

The problem isn't that McCain's critics are picking loaded terms; the problem is McCain doesn't seem to know what he's talking about when it comes to his signature issue.

"...the problem is McCain doesn't seem to know what he's talking about when it comes to his signature issue."

Pretty much THIS!

McCain may be Navy Royalty and a MIC insider but he can never be accused of being overly right about Iraq.

His credentials as CiC are shit.

John "Welcomed as Liberators" McAncient.

Do. Not. Want.

Be Well.

McCain voted for Iraq.

Nuff said.

Even if he claims he was misled via bad intelligence, it's his JOB to get the facts, and know exactly what he's voting for when it comes to action that put American lives in danger.

McCain never had a command and graduated 5th from the bottom of his 800+ class at Annapolis. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to war or military matters.

......He's never had a real job in his life......

......just like Bush.......one of many similarities.....
