Senator Barack Obama's general election plan calls for broadening the electoral map by challenging Senator John McCain in typically Republican states -- from North Carolina to Missouri to Montana -- as Mr. Obama seeks to take advantage of voter turnout operations built in nearly 50 states in the long Democratic nomination battle, aides said.

He's got the resources to make McCain do a lot of tail-chasing. Go for it.

THE JOB FOR THE NEXT PRESIDENT WILL BE A HEAVY-DUTY ONE...
OBAMA IS A LIGHT-WEIGHT
McCAIN IS TOO OLD,CAN HE HANDLE PRESSURE..
HELP ME,WHO AM I GOING TO VOTE????

Bad, you have to be 18 to vote.

You mean those red states that don't count?

Thank you Howard Dean, for helping small state Dems get noticed. Consider North Dakota. 2 Dem Senators and a Dem Representative. Hasn't voted to send a Republican to DC since 1980. Touches Minnesota, and two provinces that have had Socialist (NDP) governments. Leaders in renewable wind energy. Why not try to get Obama elected there? As Garrison Keillor says, "you know... they are sipping lattes in the basement of the Lutheran Church in Lake Wobegon these days".

as a Missouri resident, it'll be the same shit, different day. KC and STL will be blue, as will Boone County. the rest of the state will be as bright red as ever.

keep in mind, this is the state which gave us John 'Prayer Circle' Ashcroft.

I for will be glad to see Obama waste as much money as he wishes in red states.

Let me offer some other potential Obama voter states to help him out a little. How about Utah, Alabama, Arizona, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and Georgia.

Don't forget to spend lots of money there and tell them all about your liberal social programs that will wreck the economy and explode the deficit even further. Add in some midnight basketball and tax increases for good measure.

Meanwhile McCain can concentrate on Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Iowa, New Mexico, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Bee Swell

Obama better be careful in some of those states... no what I'm sayin'? They ain't known for their open arms policy when it comes to people of the "neegra" persuasion.

Or, maybe they are. Depends on how you define "arms", I guess.

Colorado has a very good chance of going for Obama.

Iowa will not be close. The anti-war sentiment has been very strong, and the Dems statewide look poised to win big once more.

The righties here are depending upon the ignorance and stupidity of their traditional voter strongholds. Could happen that they aren't as dependably stupid and ignorant, a few learned to read and started explaining the truth to the rest.....could spell trouble for the forces of evil.

Something wrong with the words "Obama" "GOP" and "hunts" used in the same sentence.

Positively Huckabee-an.

It's simple economics. Obama has far more money than McCain will so instead of conceeding the red states and letting McCain focus his meager budget on swing states Obama will make him spend in traditional red states as well.

Unfortunately, the repubs have an advantage in this county of fat, lazy, uniformed dolts.

oops - uninformed

oops - you made more mistakes in that one sentence than you even know.

Obama is humty dumpty and all the money in the world will not fix what is broken with him.

At the end he was outspending Hillary 4 to 1 and still getting his ass stomped.

Without black votes counting more than white votes in the democrat primary he would have lost anyway. In the general election they won't count any more.

Bee Swell

...social programs that will wreck the economy and explode the deficit even further...:

CRACKPIPE

He'll have his work cut out for him to ever best George W Bush's horrible handling of the economy, or to top the massive record deficits and doubled federal budget and national debt that are W's and the GOP Congress's legacy.

Largest new social program in 40 years: The Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.

A plan in which the GOP Congress made it illegal to negotiate the same rates as a company of 40 employees can get from the pharmas.

So Americanunity tell me who is responsible for the deficits of the last 2 years? Surely you are aware that the democrats have control of the house and senate now. Since all spending originates in the house the democrats are ultimately responsible for the last 2 years.

Barackula was in the senate for those 2 years and could have spoken out and voted against all the wasteful spending his democrat colleagues keep putting in the budget but like an empty suit he stood silent. Hardly someone you losers claim speaks power to truth.

Just another bullshit lying politician who has the democratic sheeple eating out of his hand.

Bee Swell

So Americanunity tell me who is responsible for the deficits of the last 2 years?

Bush has doubled the national debt - which now costs us $500,000,000,000 (billion) a year to service (OK - we put $250,000,000,000 of that in Bush and the GOP's column since they incurred it)

Iraq War - $12,000,000,000 a month X 12 months = $144,000,000,000 (billion)

Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (the GOP made it illegal to negotiate prices, so let's add another $20,000,000,000

$250,000,000,000
$144,000,000,000
$020,000,000,000
----------------
$414,000,000,000

$414,000,000,000 deficit incurred by the GOP and their policies

2008 deficit? $410,000,000,000 (billion)

Deficit when Bill Clinton left office? $0 In fact, we had a surplus in 2001, and surpluses projected for 10 years out from that point.

Can you understand that?

Unfortunately, the repubs have an advantage in this county of fat, lazy, uniformed dolts.

Oh really? Point them out.

Tell me how the aveage American isn't fat.

Convicve me the aveage American is informed on the issues of the day.

Prove to me that the average American isn't lazy.

My favorite is watching people drive around and around at the gym so they won't have to walk far from their car, or parking in "no parking" areas in front of stores so they won't have to walk far.

Don't forget, this is the country that elected Geroge Bush. Think he would have had a chance anywhere else? lol

Hangs head in shame. I am one of those who will waste 2 gallons of gas to obtain a parking spot closest to the door whereever I am parking at. It sure pisses My family off to no end. I have a reason for doing it too. I hate having to drag ass all over the parking lot with My groceries and shit. I want easy access to My vehicle once I leave a store. I hate pussyfooting around. Get in get My stuff and GO. That is one of My biggest complaints. TOO MANY Handicapped stalls. I admire a store that caters to the handicapped but jesus 40 Handicapped zones for say WalMarts?? It's craziness I tell You.

........no........he can't........

.....he will never let a fact cloud his opinion....

I just visited the huffington post website, i didnt know that obama was already elected president. is it november already?

this is the state which gave us John 'Prayer Circle' Ashcroft.

To Missouri's credit, you voted in a dead man for Senator over Ashcroft.

I am thinking the traditional strongholds of the Right are going to be hurting as much or worse from the Bush debacle than prosperous Lib enclaves like NY and LA.

I am thinking they are belly up the bar at the Dew Drop Inn, sayin', "Haill, Jim Bob, how come we is worst off today than we wuz 8 yrs ago and the Republicans still didn't get us what we wanted?"

Their kids are in Iraq for the next 100 years and they can't fill up the pickup.

Oh really? Point them out.

That both parties, not just the repubs, have control on their own set of lazy stupid people.

Tell me how the aveage American isn't fat.

Convicve me the aveage American is informed on the issues of the day.

Prove to me that the average American isn't lazy.

I actually agree 100% with you on that one.

But there is no partisian twist to that reality.

As opposed to a black man in the White House begging for change???

Obama--looking for votes in all the wrong places...

Looks like the GOP's gonna get crushed into sauce, then all eyes will be on the bad-apple Dems, who need to be shaken out of the tree. Regardless, Americans' faith in politics should dwindle soon. I hope the many people tuning in to politics for the first time will realize what BS most of it is, and realize that the most significant changes are probably not going to come by way of legislation.

Obama's weakening his stance on pulling out of Iraq, McCain also moving more toward the center on his war stance. Looks like either will end up doing the same shit. I hope Barack will be able to do something to pull our troops out of there, declare victory and go home. Instead of selling out for a few GOP votes.
