Just do it, Dmitry, if Moscow has the stuff.

In a way, in the recent mortgage meltdown, European banks have paid a heavy price for American spending --- acquired from easy homeloans and equity loans.

I blame the Iraqis. They should have read the "short, cheap greeted as liberators war" memo from Dubya and McSame and got on board.

The U.S. corporate financial system is based entirely on the "Zionist" model. (*"Zionist" meaning Greedy,Fascist Criminal!)

Well, we wanted to be in charge of the whole world and tell everybody what to do. Guess it's not working out so well.

I blame GWB and the neocons. Really.
Bill Clinton left GWB an economy in perfect health. The right wingers fucked it all up. (And yes I know, but Clinton got a blowjob.)

Oooops sorry about the repeat post.

***"Bill Clinton left GWB an economy in perfect health."***

Not really

Yes, really. But since that is too much ugly truth for partisan Republicans to swallow they will all deny it until their dying breath.

Hey Russia, kiss my pink nuts!

Collapsing dollar, inflating gas, housing collapse with inflation. A clueless President in denial publically. Won't admit he's wrong about the Economy, Privatization, alleged War on Terror, killing Weapons and Climate Treaties, Iraq, Health Care, Education... Yup, they have a point. Not that I'd trust Putin.

Gas spiked before. No one listened to Carter. Reagan tore down White House Solar Cells.

Then the Saudis dropped the price of oil to punish Russia for pumping too fast and simultaneously kill US alternative energy projects.

No matter, they get it all back now. We live at their mercy. They can kill any plans for energy independence just by lowering their price, however briefly.

Medvedev has a point, but I think it would be better received from someone who doesn't have Putin's hand up his ass, working his mouth like a Muppet.

Heads up!

QUEEN live in Montreal 1981 on PBS

I wonder if any Americans at the end of the Cold War even conceived of the possibility that a RUSSIAN president would one day lecture the U.S. about appropriate capitalist risk analysis and responsible monetary policy. Imagine the look on their faces if we could reach back in time and tell them just how quickly things changed. Of course, we wouldn't want to give them heart attacks, so we'd have to keep mum about him being right...

Other than possibly Israel and a few other isolated countries An Obama presidency will thrill most of the world's population with at least the prospect of sensible policies.

With the size of our economy, and a (past) reputation for healthy innovation we can act as a responsible world leader. i.e. without hollering war in everybody's ear.

And now, for a musical interlude:

youtube.com

During the Cold War we allowed the military industrial complex almost complete freedom to grow and hopefully keep us safe. Finally the Soviet Union collapsed and was returned to a capitalist economy but without the need to replicate their version of the Military Industrial complex and thus their economy is starting to grow. In our own country we have not yet taken back control of our own military industrial complex and it is still bleeding us dry at the same rate as during the height of the Cold War but our people are unwilling to pay the taxes that our parents did. So, us Americans need to finally take back control of the greedy, war provoking, oil profit gouging, military industrial complex. WE also have to tell the American people that taxes are a necessary part of a healthy economy and a balanced budget is an absolute necessity. Reaganomics was based on a concept that deficits don't matter and today we are paying four dollars per gallon of gas because of that sack of bull shit the Republicans have been selling us over and over, each round getting progressively worse.

Bush's fault

Bush fucked us all to death in the name of Corporate cronnieism. And all the asshole can get up and say now is...

"We need to make the Tax Cuts for Americas most wealthy permanent and we need to bomb the shit out of Iran"

That all this sorry SOB has left.

The Russian government is run by gangsters.

This is the smartest thing I've every seen you say, even through sarcasm. The point is that the current financial crisis has everything to do with the dollar falling. If everyone would have gotten "on board" and made sure that the dollar doesn't fall, then there is no crisis. However, I think the current crisis is all part of the plan to move to another currency and leave US holding all the debt.

Bush's fault

If you want to label the Rich of the world as Bush, then you're right.

After this crisis is over, the Rich will own all of the world.

People are so stupid! Bill Clinton IS a neocon. He's so much part of this group.

If you really want to split hairs though, Bill Clinton inherited an economy that was booming from the changes that Reagan made. Clinton handed over an economy spinning out of control.

BUT, Presidents have little to do with guiding the economy within their own administrations. The changes they make have affects over decades.

This stupid "stimulus package" that Bush put out is so not working.

this is huge subject and I just touched on the highlights, but being so naive as to say that economy is bad, must be the President's fault is just stupid! You think Bill Clinton had anything to do with the run up of Web-related stocks in the the late 90's? idiot!

i blame russia for the advent of marxism. alive and well right here in the good old u.s.

I blame Nanc for the advent of uber-stupidity, alive and well in most of her posts.

I blame government for my baldness and erectile dysfunction.

Sincerely,
Ray

"The Russian government is run by gangsters."

as opposed to America that is run by patriotic public servants.

Robert Mugabe has no shame, no conscience, no compassion. A thief. The Burmese junta is no better. Putin is a sophisticated siphoner.

America will not experience recession. Its on the border, but will shoot up once the alternative to fossil fuel is solved.

Robert Mugabe has no shame, no conscience, no compassion. A thief. The Burmese junta is no better.

well condi's buddies at UNOCAL heart the junta. While I agree with your first three statements, I din't think that alternative is going to get here anytime soon.

The text won't copy, so you'll have to click the link. The author tells us Brazil, Russia, China and India are forming a political alliance to the exclusion of the US. In essence they are trying to isolate the US politically and economically.

well I usually dont attack unless attacked first, but since your last post to me had little more than profanity, here goes.

look fuckface............how many FUCKIN times does it take for the left to understand and comprehend when this subject is brought up.
I have been told that great surplus was a matter of "Cooked books" and if I knew more economic facts, I could use that with more certainly, BUT I DO KNOW that clinton just HAPPENED to be there during the dotcom explosion and one way he had that surplus was to GUT THE MILITARY and when we were attacked REPEATEDLY...........he looked the other way.....I mean he looked down at the back of monicas head...........
and then of course ANOTHER thing you forgot was 9/11 and the disasterous effect it had.....but NO you and YOUR ILK wont even consider those things..

and by the way............WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT RECESSION>.......oh yeah it went the way of all those tom delay convictions............IT DIDNT HAPPEN...............

and oh yeah.............unemployment lower than EVER UNDER CLINTON even though it just went up a littel.

AND when was the stock market over 1300 during the clinton years.................NEVER, PERHAPS...........

Bush has doubled the national debt - which now costs us $500,000,000,000 (billion) a year to service (OK - we put $250,000,000,000 of that in Bush and the GOP's column since they incurred it)

Iraq War - $12,000,000,000 a month X 12 months = $144,000,000,000 (billion)

Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (the GOP made it illegal to negotiate prices, so let's add another $20,000,000,000

$250,000,000,000
$144,000,000,000
$020,000,000,000
----------------
$414,000,000,000

$414,000,000,000 deficit incurred by the GOP and their policies

2008 deficit? $410,000,000,000 (billion)

Deficit when Bill Clinton left office? $0 In fact, we had a surplus in 2001, and surpluses projected for 10 years out from that point.

Anemic economic growth, record foreclosures, the highest unemployment since 1986.

Ya, things are hunky dorey.

"I have been told that great surplus was a matter of "Cooked books"..."

The "cooked books" you're referring to is the usage of SS overcollections to mask the size of the overall debt. Clinton used those overcollections to claim a budget surplus, but had true surplus budgets delivered to W's door.

W took that same accounting procedure you're calling "cooked books" (and even LARGER overcollection), and all he could muster were the largest deficits known to man since the dawn of time.

"and if I knew more economic facts, I could use that with more certainly,"

Hell, I wish you knew anything about economic facts; that would be a start. Instead, you'll bring up this now-debunked point next chance you get, won't you?

Load of Crap from RUSSIA... as if their own oligarch's weren't running hand in hand with the capitalists in this country.

But as long as the price of oil remains high, Russia can say and do whatever it pleases. They don't even have to pretend to be democratic since they don't have to tax people to do all they want.

Deficit when Bill Clinton left office? $0 In fact, we had a surplus in 2001, and surpluses projected for 10 years out from that point.

The reason we may have had a surpluss is because Clinton was "borrowing " from monies going into Social Security and other failing "entitlement" programs. Now we will not have Social Security benifits.

"because Clinton was "borrowing " from monies going into Social Security and other failing "entitlement" programs."

As was Bush Senior before him.
And Boy George after him.
And the Democrats over the next 8 years.
