Hillary Rodham Clinton has told congressional colleagues she would be open to becoming Barack Obama's vice presidential nominee, saying she would consider it if it would help Democrats win the White House.

Clinton, a New York senator, made the comment on a conference call with other New York lawmakers Tuesday, according a participant on the call.

The senator's remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez who said she believed the best way for Obama to win over key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.

"I am open to it," Clinton replied, if it would help the party's prospects in November.

Yeah, right. Clinton has no pride?

I think she would choose suicide as the preferable alternative to running subordinate to Obama on the ticket.

Oh wait, it's an AP story. That means that it has no credibility. It's a PR thrust by the Obama crowd.

Johnson,

I just saw Terry McAuliffe on CNN, and he said if Hillary didn't get the nomination she would, in fact, be willing to do "whatever it takes" to get a Democratic win for November. Last I checked, Terry didn't work for the AP or the Obama campaign.

Johnson,

Did you catch the little clip from The View today? Whoopi Goldberg, reading from something fresh off the wire, solemnly announces Hillary Clinton will concede tonight. Barbara Walters says, "This mean Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee. . . ." But wait! Whoopi gets handed a statement from the Clinton campaign saying she has not conceded. Coincidence? Like I said: maybe, maybe not.

That's not the only "slot" she's got open.
