It is self-delusional to think that all of the uncommitted delegates would have gone to Obama.

Second, the Rules Ctee gave Obama 4 of the delegates Hillary Clinton won.

Hillary is showing an extreme lack of judgment that does not reflect well on someone who wants to sit in the Oval Office. I'm not impressed by the petty destructiveness.

What do I care what sex or race a candidate is? This is the first time the Democrats have produced a major candidate that is either and as a result, they've become racists and sexists during the selection process.

I'll gleefully take four years of McCain if it means killing one of the two corrupt political organizations that have a stranglehold over us. Granted, the Democrats' recent failures are not as great as the Republicans'. But the Dems don't act like an opposition party and the fact that they are now talking about seating these delegates at all shows a complete lack of integrity. Good riddance. I can only hope the Republicans are next but after what they've got away with recently, its hard to say what would make people stop supporting them.

She could still step aside and be the frontrunner in 2012 or 2016 but she seems bound and determined to become nuttier than Lyndon LaRousch only with less votes.

If she has any desire to run again in 2012 or 2016, she needs to shut Ickes up and bow out after tuesday. Her diehard fans may think she's doing the right thing here, but I think the rest of the Dem. party will remember this as selfish, divisive, and counterproductive. If the situation was reversed and Obama was making this stand, I'd feel the same way about him.

The pledged delegate math has been unalterably against Hillary for at least three months. Nobody can blame her for soldiering on until the final figures are in even those of us who didn't think that it made any sense. Once the math has its final say she should accept it as final and concede. Nothing else makes any sense.

With 86 pledged delegates left the fewest that Obama could now possibly get is about 30 of them and it will probably be nearer 40. That will leave him needing at most 34 of the remaining 204 superdelegates or 17% of them. The pledged delegate math was settled March 11 after Obama had won 15 of 17 primaries. The remaining superdelegates will finish it off by June 5th.

Ironically that at the beginning the Dems were drolling over their potential two starts. They were so happy to have two great candidates to choose from.

Fast forward six months and those two candidates and their followers hate each other passionately.

These included John Edwards.

You can't accurately count a contest that was supposed to never count to begin with.

I don't have a dog In this hunt but, as I see it Clinton and Obama agreed in the beginning and now that she is losing she wants to renege and include states that they both agreed upon to not seat. Obama conceded to her to seat both states with half of their votes as punishment for defying the DNC. Don't know much about it but if that's the way the DNC or RNC want to run their shit , so be it.

As a Maryland "unaffiliated" voter this is not attractive. It's not even about Obama anymore, just this behavior is very telling.

And please, don't get me started about her supporters. I watched the rules committee Saturday on TV and thought that the Obama contingent was very generous, even altruistic, but not foolish.

It is a close race and Obama hasn't won enough of the votes in the states to seal it. It is up to the Super delegates. If they have any sense they will put forth the strongest candidate, and not the choice of the "dems" in red states.

At first I didn't care -- still don't for any of the ones running -- but now the battle has gotten interesting. Hillary's been counted down and out by the media and the Obamafans about 15 times but she keeps gets right back up and comes out swinging. Makes it more fun to watch the campaign. Every week all you hear is "It's all over for Hillary, she's got no chance now" but she just tells them to politely stfu and keeps right on going. How many primaries are left now? I'm dizzy trying to keep track.

Its already been thrown out of court a couple of times. An Appellate Court may hear it, but highly unlikely now since both MI and FL proposals were submitted by the states themselves and backed by the state parties.

Additionally, courts have held numerous times in the past that political parties have the right to establish and enforce their own rule re: primary elections.

The political scene has shifted quite a bit there in the last 3-4 years.

Hopefully the racist scene has changed there too. Bozeman wasn't too bad... but they didn't have any black people in Bozo so there wasn't any way to really determine how they felt about them.

Granted, there are not a lot of minorities in Montana, except Native Americans. Most of the Blacks tended to be athletes at the Universities, or military personnel.

However, having grown up there and still visiting often, I find there to be far less racism in Montana than in many larger, more diverse places I have lived.

My soul really is from Montana/Wyoming but there isn't a racism problem anywhere you don't have diversity of races. If you never have to think about them, deal with them, no problem. Lived there for 6 years and one of the reasons I left was the uniformity of the population.

Fair point to ask about...

Coming from a big city with lots of different people, while I lived there (MT), I used to inject race into conversations to see how people responded. Sometimes I'd say I heard a black family moved into a house a couple of blocks away, or ask people if their children told them about the new black children in their school. These were all lies of course. But you could see the discomfort in their faces as they tried to show casual disinterest, i.e. try to hide their racism.

Bozeman and Missoula were the two places where the responses were at least a bit more controlled, if not PC. But a majority of the populations there come from different places and there is the University factor you mentioned before.

I guess my implication was not to say all Montanan's are racist, only that they keep it better hidden due to the fact that there aren't too many races there. I never had a "states rights" conversation before I moved there either, but had it at least once a month while I did. We both know what that is usually code for.
