A Tuesday fundraiser headlined by President Bush for U.S. Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign is being moved out of the Phoenix Convention Center. Sources familiar with the situation said the Bush-McCain event was not selling enough tickets to fill the Convention Center space, and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside.

Sounds like "The Lame Duck and Grandpa Show" is not off to a great start.

Awwwwwww.

BWAHAHAHAHA!

In other words-they couldn't sell enough tickets to even pay for it...
Things are lookin' REAL bad for McLame/McSame......tell me-isn't he FROM Arizona?

Who'd they bomb this time?

McCain should stay as far away from Bush as possible.

Bush will ultimately cost McCain the white house!

Wait that headline is wrong, it should say McBush-Bush Fundraiser Bombs

Surrrprise, Surrrprise.

McCain-Bush Fundraiser Bombs

What Republican in their right mind would think Bush would be any kind of a draw when it came to raising campaign money. Bush is radioactive. Just the name "Bush" is toxic. Most Republicans can't get far enough away from him when it comes to their own campaigns. Usually politicians are honored to have any President agree to appear and raise money for them. Not in this case. Not with this President.

...kinda like when our moronic fearless leader tried to have a fund raising at Stanford's Hoover Institute (conservative think tank). The students forced his caravan to retreat to former Secretary of State George Shultz private residence in San Francisco, 30 miles away.HAHAHAHAHA

LOL!

To quote a previous poster:

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

lol!!!!!!!

PS:
I hate pres. Bush!

PSS:
Obama '09

Now that Hillary's about done maybe McCain can get Bill to help him raise money. He'd raise more money with Bill then GW.

things here in phoenix were a mess today as streets were closed off every which way so as to make room for w. and his clan.

some here were aware of his arrival though i, being removed from the mailing list early on, didn't know he would be dropping in.
then i heard it was a fund-raiser and started to wonder.
the end result answered all of those questions.

all the best.

as popular as Bush and McCain are with the military, you'd think GIs would be showing up in droves to hear them spea.....

oh wait

They could have sold the tickets. They just couldn't be 100% sure that most of the audience was loyal, and not there to heckle these two dimwits.

I'd have gone.

"A White House official said the event was being moved because the McCain campaign prefers private fundraisers and it is Bush administration policy to have events in public venues open to the media."

... which is why he never has events in public venues...

One hopes they have to pay for the Convention Center booking even if they cancelled.

RIGHTISRIGHT, break open your piggy bank.

Playing to an empty room never looks good on TV.

Why has this thread shown up twice in less than a week?

Twinpac- Because it's funny.

it is Bush administration policy to have events in public venues open to the media.

Just not open to the general public.

To all you Bush and McCain haters, wait until Flop Ears and Gorilla Girl get to the white house, sorry I mean the black house. It will be pay back time for the last seven years of your liberal asshole comments.

******* McCain-Bush Fundraiser Bombs *******

.......who wants to throw good money after bad.??..

I think what Ozzie is trying to say is that if Michelle Obama is forced to live in a place called the "white house" she not going to be a happy camper.

Obama probably couldn't care less but Michelle appears to internalize stuff like that.

Is McCain trying to lose?

LIVE OR DIE

The GOP had to throw somebody in there and McCain lost the coin toss.

McCain is going through the motions but he's a lame duck candidate from the git-go.

A video of Obama dancing naked in a fountain, twanging a ukulele and singing Tip Toe Through The Tulips wouldn't help the GOP win this election.

The country is royally pissed at the GOP, the neo-cons and anything and everybody associated with either.

**** I think what Ozzie is trying to say is......

......and what I am trying to point out is that there are way too many cheap, racist shots taken at Obama......

......if someone disagrees with his policies, fine, debate the policies, but to continually keep harping on race is a sign of political immaturity on the part of the electorate......

I don't know if I buy the sacrificial lamb bit, I think McCain wants to win.

But at the same time I think he's senile, possibly retarded.

What could have been a very centrist ticket, in a time when the GOP is perceived as too right wing, what did he do? He went running to Bush and gave him a big gay hug right on T.V., and changed all of his centrist positions.

What Republican in their right mind would think

Isn't that a rhetorical question?

McBush is trying to run away from the albatross around his neck.

LIVE OR DIE

McCain clings to Bush because he needs money and Bush still has a lot of markers he can call in.

(But not in Phoenix apparently)

No candidate in their right mind would be seen cozying up to Bush for any other reason than that. Personally I think they hate each other but politics make strange bedfellows.

Of course McCain wants to win. He may even believe that they have enough dirty tricks to make it happen. I'm sure they'll give it the ol' college try . . . or at least as much as his heart can stand.

But unless Obama and every default Democratic candidate drops dead, McCain is just clinging to a hope and a prayer.

"...and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside."

They were letting anti-war protesters into the venue?

Hagbard,

That could have been where the planning went wrong.

"A video of Obama dancing naked in a fountain, twanging a ukulele and singing Tip Toe Through The Tulips wouldn't help the GOP win this election."

would be a pretty sweet way of getting my vote!

hahah

Bush is not popular with the left, McCain's not popular with the right, and the center never existed.

gentlemen and ladies,

let me let you in on a little something about last night. reports are this morning that they raised THREE MILLION in one night.
and lets also keep in mind that YES obama has raised a lot of money and more than mccain..........but lets also look at the rnc and the dnc. I have read that the rnc still can dwarf the dems in money in their account.
and do dems REALLY want to start checking the size of dicks when it comes to bank accounts.
or should I say have a pissing contest............

3 Million what??? Dinars ????

Larry Mohr

No Larry, that would be dollars.

The closet door slowly opens...

I think even the most rigid righties will concede that next January we will stand like Louisianans after Katrina and say "whew, we survived eight years of Bush."

But did we? What will we salvage from a decade of looted resources, the nation's (admittedly not elite) youth dying in a pointless distant war, the pissing away of any respect left anywhere in the world for our once-great country? herm

LoD,
Good one...

Money was to go toward McCain's presidential bid and a number of Republican Party organs.

Do they mean Larry Craig's dick, David Vitter's dick, Jeff Gannon's dick, Mark Foley's dick, David Hager's dick, Jack Ryan's dick, Neil Bush's dick, Dan Burton's dick, Henry Hyde's dick etc. etc?

Yes, I know about Bill Clinton's dick problems too so you can pair him off with any two or three of the above. Dan Burton, Henry Hyde and more obscurely Charles Canady are three obvious choices since they were all part of the witch hunt.

3 million divided by 2,300 = 1,304. Hmmmm.... Oh, that's right a lot of it is going to the "organs"

Blue - I'm guessing by "organs", they probably meant replacement parts for McCain. Need to have plenty in stock.

"Bombs" is the right word to use for these two warhawks.

Obama's legacy has now started

"Democratic Party struggling to raise money for its convention in Denver"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"Democrats Miss Marks to Finance Convention"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Dear ASSHOLE Libs, I wouldn't call 3.5 million bombing. That goes for you to DRudge.

Ozzie - there is spittle on the corners of your mouth. Wipe it off, shortbus. At least I think it's just spittle. I suppose it could be some McAncient Juice, assuming he still produces it. Either way, wipe it clean, kid.

let me let you in on a little something about last night. reports are this morning that they raised THREE MILLION in one night.

From the haves and have mores, Bush's base. McCain missed the internet boom. Obama and Clinton's money comes largely from small donations. Lots of small donations=lots of people.

McCain's proud of his "no pork" history, but he does the lobbyists. After all the purges, he still has 48 more lobbyists on his campaign to go. . .
