Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, May 22, 2008

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) issued a subpoena to former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove for testimony about the politicization of the Department of Justice (DOJ), including former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman's case. Yesterday, Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, sent a letter to the Committee expressing that Rove would not agree to testify voluntarily, per the Committee's previous requests.

"It is unfortunate that Mr. Rove has failed to cooperate with our requests," Conyers said. "Although he does not seem the least bit hesitant to discuss these very issues weekly on cable television and in the print news media, Mr. Rove and his attorney have apparently concluded that a public hearing room would not be appropriate. Unfortunately, I have no choice today but to compel his testimony on these very important matters."

Maybe we'll get to see that Rove frog-marching day after all.

www.needlenose.com

How sweet that would be...

Karl Rove is a weasel. He gladly will spill his guts for a fee on Faux News but will not speak the truth for free for the good of the Nation to Congress.

It's all about the Money to the GOP.

Tell him it's a speech to Neocons about attacking Iran and there will be a hefty speaking fee and he will be there tomorrow.

I like the alternative to the courts: Send out the Sergeant of Arms to arrest him. And don't forget Harriet Myers or anyone else who refuses to show up. We used have a Congress that did just that, and jailed the perps in the basement. FACT!

I read an interview with Rove in a new GQ. Either the guy is totally incapable of candor, or he really believes his own bullshit. There is nothing in the interview that even hints that he thinks anything that's happened during the last eight years is bad, nor does he seem to feel that helping to install Lil' Bush at the behest of big Bush was a catastrophe.

I think the man is delusional.

And of course, he's hawking his forthcoming book.

Yee Haaa - sell tickets to the waterboarding!

"Either the guy is totally incapable of candor or he really beleives his own bullshit..."

Both, I suspect. Liars still need to think well of themselves.

Doubt that this gets .1 inch past executive privilege.

Throw that fat little doughboy in jail.

Gotta love it.

Orgasmic Schadenfruede, fur die die Deustch sprechen.

Lets just WATERBOARD this Fuck, I can guarantee this coward would squeel like a PIG, maybe we will get to bottom of this Criminal Administration, yea lets WATERBOARD this fuck!!!! An Lets do it on FOXs NEWS after all they have no problem with it!!!!

I think he's a real cool guy.

Come on folks, we all really know nothing is going to happen to Karl Rove. The Justice Dept. will not pursue justice. It is just business as usual. FAce it folks, we'll be happy if these criminals leave office when their terms expire. Karl Rove will get away with his crimes and laugh at American justice for the rest of his life. That's just the way it is.
God bless America.

"I think he's a real cool guy...."

Well, I'll admit Rove got more milleage out of falsely accusing a sitting governor of lesbianism than any other living person.

"I think he's a real cool guy...."

I think that means you are definitely gay.

The only way kkkarl rover(arf arf!) could be cool...

Is to store his dead body in a freezer for about a week and a half.

Instead of trying to prosecute Karl Rove, Obama should hire him to run his campaign. Karl Rove is a political genius.

FWThom-
Einstein was a genius. The guy who enabled Bush to screw the US into the ground for two freaking terms is a sociopath - maybe a very smart sociopath, but sociopathic nonetheless.

Finally.

On Siegleman, there's no "executive privilege." If Rove claims so, he's indicted Bush in this Alabama fiasco.

YAV-
whatever. You're dealing with people who once claimed that the Office of the VP wasn't a part of the executive branch. They don't obey laws - it's a matter of principle to them.

More the lack of principle.

"We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested." (Conyers)

We'll see. I would really enjoy seeing some fortitude from the Dems.

Looking for Love in all the wrong places...

Looking forward to the Michelle Whitey tape..

He who laughs last laughs the best...

Murphy

You're equating a rumor, even inflammatory words with Treason, corruption and blatant violation of law?

Of course you are. You're a Republican.

Wasn't Karl Rove the guy squealing like a pig in Deliverance?
He looks like that guy.

I always thought Rove looked like a grownup version of Piggy from Lord of the Flies. Or perhaps the sibling of Ms. Piggy on Sesame Street. Okay, my bad.

A democrat subpoenaed Karl Rove. Big fucking deal. One measly prosecution of Scotter Libby in a Fitzgerald witch hunt. Thats all you libtards have to show for millions of dollars of taxpayer money being wasted on endless investigations. How pathetic.

SEE YOU IN DENVER!!!

Bee Swell

Ah...yes, Murph. Loads of chuckles.

Try this one...President Obama. (cue cricket track)

Every one's a Maserati. (cue the laugh track)

I think this is a great development, everyone that serves in any adminstration at any time should be supeonaed by the opposition for every decision they make.

It's not only a great use of tax payers dollars, but it's that 'fresh change' in politics Hussein Obama loves to talk about.

Next up on the docket, the entire Clinton adminstration, since they fired all the federal judges.

John Conyers is such a smart guy. I can't wait for his next impeachment hear in the basement, where the other sewer dwelling, shit eating, rats live.

Rove if he wants, can turn up in the US Congress wearing a shirt that says "all I got from the White House was this t-shirt and..ah..oh yes...a Presidential Pardon!!!"

AAAAAHHHHHHHHH you guys are great, you know it.
rove masterminds the election of bush twice and now you are going to get back at that with congress coming up with this nonsense and in the meantime the democrat congress cant even present a bill WITHOUT 34 PAGES MISSING.....what incompetent boobs!!!!!!!!!!!

Quit repeating what you hear....

Lay off the mid day AM dial...

"A democrat subpoenaed Karl Rove. Big fucking deal. One measly prosecution of Scotter Libby"

YEAH!

You tools are truly incapable of learning anything!

If you Wingdings were smart they would realize this is the one of the few things that can save yourself.

Publicly repudiate Bush and his rubber stamps or permanently suffer the consequences and forever have them hanging around the neck of anyone who proclaims to be "conservative"!

See, in all their effort to discredit Obama with Rev Wright ---- all they ultimately did was neuter the "Religious right" from politics!
And, in the so called "conservatives" continued effort to protect what they are now saying "wasn't a conservative" all they are going to do is drag the "republican" brand down to a level of low they can't fathom!

They want to "re-brand" the party, but refuse to remove what destroyed the "brand" in the first place! A fitting end in my opinion! March on!

......The most salient point is that the DOJ has opened an investigation into the wrongful prosecution of Sieligman........

.......There will be a new Attorney General coming in with Obama's administration......

.......anyone who has read up on this case, knows that people will be going to jail for what they did to an innocent man........

Another expensive dog and pony show with the Democrats using the political machinery and expending tax money for naught. Rove is protected by "executive privilege." He was before, and he is now. The Democrat drama kings and queens will have an opportunity to emote.

We have problems. The strangulation hold of the OPEC countries that have declared war against us is impinging on our lives, and instead of preparing to counterattack and seize the oil, these clowns are engaging in a masturbatory political orgy.

Get back to business. Jerks.

And when Rove stands at the foot of Capitol Hill thumbing his nose at Congress and setting fire to the subpoena (figuratively or literally - with Rove and his crowd who knows?), what will Congress do then? Hold a press conference, flap their arms up and down and accomplish exactly - NOTHING. Business as usual.

Executive priviledge works differently for Democrats and Republicans because the Supreme Court is a partisan body. Rehnquist forced Clinton to testify about nothing of national importance and sewed his own Impeachment Robe. It was the same partian bullshit that was thrown in Gore's face. Cheney and Bush simply refuse to co-operate on matters of life and death for millions of human beings and trillions of dollars and nothing is done about it. The system protects criminals better than law abiding citizens.

You have no credibility here or any conservative blog for that matter.....

Posted by lfthndthrds at 2008-05-23 08

sure and lfthwhatever......and you would be just tickled pink if I were made to shut up and not given the same right to speak out as you have. you would just love that but it wont happen.
if you think credibility is a prerequisite for posting here, then you have never read the writings of redneck or buffalobob or .....well ....how about yourself........but hey...nice talking to ya and when you have a point that actaully speaks to the subject rather than just more personal liberal fuck nonsense, then we can talk........

the bush administration will be seen as much more than any of you fucks predict, but it wont be from media today or your side, but in the future when libs are proved wrong, yet once again.....when iraq becomes more like jordon than it is like iran, which is happening and could happen faster rather than later....

and dont tell me it cant happen......who would have thought that israel and syria would be in.....of all things....peace talks........and yet they are.

How about getting some yahoo to actually bang Rove and make him squeel like a pig? Tom DeLay would do it (Fox would televise it),

"the bush administration will be seen as much more than any of you fucks predict"

BLT, I actually agree with you on this one! Some time far in the future, when all of the Top Secret documents this government has obsessively covered up come to light, the US citizens will find out that Shrub's crimes against the Constitution and citizens of the United States were far broader and far worse than we can even begin to suspect today.

And by the way - do you kiss your mother, wife or children with that mouth? Shame on you!

As a proud citizen of the great state of alabama, I can tell you that something was very weird about that whole thing. Siegleman was an OK governor.

Then when he went to jail, there was no outcry, everybody was running around saying, what did he do, oh nevermind, we have to go fight turrurists.

The whole time, he maintained that he was framed and no one listened.

The irony is that he would enjoy hard time. Just think of all the time and money he spent smuggling Jeff Gannon and Matt "Dirty" Sanchez into the White House for 3-way frolicks.

"Crackpipejunkie"....Take some of that shit out of your nose your making no sense. Are you telling me that you are really concerned about how much Congress is spending to investigate this Administration? This is what Congress is suppose to do Asswipe, not just rubber stamp every thing that this Administration has done sine 2000. OVERSIGHT, Google the word you may learn somethng.

Were you just as Concerned when the Republicians went after Clinton, at a cost of nearly 300 millions in investigations??? I THINK NOT, you are a typical Republician ASSHOLE....

Celery: How do you survive a day at this place? Surely your blood pressure exceeds 300/180 as you type a retort. I can practically see the veins in your forehead throbbing from here. You're face must be as read as a beet.

Chill out, dude. It ain't all that important. It's only politics. Besides, the spittle spray is getting to be a bit too much to bear.

another investigation going nowhere.

How effing sad.

Supoenowned

"Thats all you libtards have to show for millions of dollars of taxpayer money being wasted on endless investigations. How pathetic."

What a coincidentally idiotic statement, when you consider the front page story of the NYT today dumb ass.

"Iraq Spending Ignored Rules, Pentagon Says""

www.nytimes.com

"GOATMAN"......Among many things my lifes pleasures is to keep you Hacks accountable, for to many years you clowns have been given a free ride with your crap, no accountability, well if I get a rise out of you fucks, than I know I'm serving myself an my Party no more free rides deal with it. Thanks for caring about my health but I will be here a long time deal with it!!!
