BALLA, India -- Villagers in this rural Indian village several hours from New Delhi are celebrating the savage murder of two young adults -- a 22-year-old man and 21-year-old woman who was 22-weeks pregnant -- who broke caste rules against marrying someone from their own village. "From society's point of view, this is a very good thing," said 62-year-old farmer Balwan Arya, sitting smoking a hookah in the shade of a tree in a square with other elders from the village council or panchayat. "We have removed the blot."

Removing the blot?

Now, someone tell me that some
cultures are not inferior to others.

Thank God I'm an American!

"We have removed the blot."

the five blots I would like to remove:

1. mother in law
2. step mom
3. anyone who knocks on my door before 12 on Sunday
4. several lawyers
5. anyone who says, FABULOUS!

Obviously the rule was effected long ago to prevent inbreeding; still a tragedy. Different cultures, different customs.

I'm glad we don't have class issues here! That keeps alive my dream of meeting a rich sugar mama!

A people that believe in such will surely fall into their own black pit of _____. Fill in your favorite nasty place.

Kinda overkill but at least they're trying to enforce their code rather than taking an appeasement stance in regards to debauchery that the Political Correct (a.k.a Democrats) in the U.S. are guilty of.

That's not a good way to curry favor with the media.

The Worlds largest Democracy, an yet such acts of savagery, maybe Mr. Bush can learn that Democracy cannot change so quickly a history of cultural behavior.

Are you serious? Please tell me you're joking. Or perhaps I could slaughter you and your family for offending me. Yay, backwards customs!

IT CHANGED OURS

Judas-
And it's a good thing it was imposed on us by the French military, or we would not have sought it.....

..oh, wait...that's not quite how it went!

Well, whatever...BSG is back on!

True Democracy must come from within. It can not be forced upon a populace. See Taiwan for starters. They want independence and democracy but Mainland China and the United States won't let them. Funny Dat be how the "United States" (Read Dubya) wants to spread democracy but yet quashes Taiwan's dream of democracy. That should tell You all You need to know about Dubya but some are still dumbafied.

Larry Mohr

HERE LET ME BREAK DOWN THE SENTENCE FURTHER SINCE YOU HAVE A PROBLEM READING....

Democracy cannot change so quickly a history of cultural behavior.

NOW HERES MY COMMENT...

IT CHANGED OURS

LARRY...do you think democracy can change the culture of behavior????

IE .....like we do not enslave people anymore.....or we do not conduct with hunts anymore

like when is the last time we killed a tribe of indians

They want independence and democracy but Mainland China and the United States won't let them. Funny Dat be how the "United States" (Read Dubya) wants to spread democracy but yet quashes Taiwan's dream of democracy

LARRY.... i think troops deaths will exceed 4000+....are you willing to fight that kind of war

Democracy can not change ones behavior. The ONLY thing that changes behavior is a change of mind and or psyche. How a populace votes doesn't change anything other than giving people a voice. We still enslaved in the early years of the republic. What changed the behavior was a progressive thought process.

Larry Mohr

We could get Taiwan democracy without firing a shot. Take away the trade we do with China and refuse to accept their goods and or services. But We all know THAT won't happen.

Larry Mohr

LARRY... democracy does not change things over night...america proved that..but it does over time.....progressive thought thrives in democracies...unless you know another form of government that progressive thought does better in

We could get Taiwan democracy without firing a shot

LARRY...ISNT THAT WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN IN IRAQ....SOUNDS LIKE A BIG GAMBLE

Larry-
I have to admit that JUDAS has a compelling argument that Iraq simply does not understand our sincere and selfless motivations, and is rebellious and ungratefull for our gift of freedom without strings attached. You have to understand that after years of dictatorship, the very idea of a totally beneficent superpower occupying their country merely to bring them Freedom and Democracy is something that these poor little brown fellas just can't comprehend.

I just love Your sarcasm BetelG. Love it.

Larry Mohr

No it's not what Dubya thought. Iraq has absolutely NOTHING to do with spreading Democracy. You bought into the Bullshit hook line and sinker. It has absolutely everything to do with controlling the Oil in Iraq. So please do not try my pateince about this bullshit about Iraq and Democracy. Won't fly with Me.

I thought only those evil Muzzies did honor killings.

Ah, you are oblivious to the difference. This is an enlightened society. It is not the woman who is punished, but both malefactors. That should provide some consolation to your PC soul.
Guess we should invade India to bring them peace and democracy.

Chauvinism, Jingoism, Imperialism, all in the name of do-goodism intervention is what you lefties always propose.

Focusing on democracy rather than subduing and subjugating the Iraqis and securing unlimited use of their oil reserves at prices we set, was a problem Bush created, and for which he is criticized in some recent books.

Bush is at heart a compassionate idealist, whose goals are not necessarily compatible with those that should guide an imperial power. Bush was misled by his by his moral and ethical constraints, which restrained him from taking necessary and proper actions, which would be harmful to others.

Such limitations have no place in the psyche of a national leader, who should put aside such petty considerations and act in behalf of the good of his country without consideration of how his actions may negatively affect others.

That's Mr. Bush for you. Hampered by his idealism, his sense of right and wrong, his compassion, his kindness, and his desire to do what is right for mankind. Focus Mr. Bush. Focus on what is beneficial to the United States. Seize foreign oil so that we are not bankrupted. Raise our standard of living by utilizing good old-fashioned tried and true methods.

Why are all of these leftists such self-centered intolerant cultural imperialists.

These other people have maintained their societies for millennia, but narcissistic lefties denounce others as if the lefties themselves are originators of all good and decent values, and other societies which have managed to function over the ages, are necessarily "bad."

Aren't leftists a group of egomaniacal creatures with an exaggerated view of themselves and their societies as morally superior?

You guys are sociocentric, and because of your bias and conceit, feel qualified to denigrate others.

What has become of yur ideas of moral relativism? Have you abandoned them?

Now, someone tell me that some
cultures are not inferior to others.

Thank God I'm an American!

Now that's social and anthropological narcissism.

I can hear the Indians mouthing the exact same phrase in regard to our way of handling particular situations. Generally, most of us except for alienated American lefties nowadays, find the ways and solutions of our own cultures most congenial.

Our values and view and solution of problems, are culturally mediated.

Religion, it's a killer ain't it?

That's Mr. Bush for you. Hampered by his idealism, his sense of right and wrong, his compassion, his kindness, and his desire to do what is right for mankind.

Holy shit, you've got to be kidding me.

These people are barbarians.

See the video! Hot hot!

www.breitbart.tv

The girl's mother "did not express any regrets over the killing of her daughter and claimed that she is happy they did it."

How many here have DSL? I am sure you bastards can see the video, yeah?

The savagery of the human heart never lacks vehicles through which to express itself. I don't believe in apocalypse nor armageddon. And part of the reason is because humanity has been so barbaric for so many thousand of years, and still no omnipotent God above has struck us down. Goodness knows a strong argument could be made that we richly deserve it. So if it aint happened by now it's not gonna happen at all.

This video is nauseating. The couple's bodies are being left to rot in the street. The village thinks they are all to be considered "siblings"? Oh, please. Indians have swamped New Jersey and are the third largest group of illegal aliens to pour into California. Ain't diversity grand! Can't wait to share this culture.

Sorry, this is not my way of life, nor my culture, nor does it belong to American heritage and I have nothing at all in common with people that would do murders like these. That's all we need now in California. We've had Middle Easterners here in California holding underage girls as "slaves" for housekeeping duties, etc. not to mention everyone else's "diversity and political correctness" shoved down our throats. Now tons of people from India are being brought in on H1 visas. Honor killings, burning of brides whose dowry wasn't wealthy enough -- all considered "okay" in India.

Sorry, this isn't some pot I want to melt into. Globalism does not work. You cannot change other people's cultures and you should not force them on to our country that does not want them here. It's bad enough we have the Muslims complaining about pork in this and pork in that and complaining they want taxpayers to pay for a place for their footbaths to pray five times a day.

Kipling wrote: "East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet."
Let's keep it that way.

Globalism does not work.

When will you people realize that over 90% of the people on this planet are morons? No matter what culture they belong to.

Democracy, Islam, Philosophy, Maths, Science, Internet.... such things are only meant to be used and understood by people like myself (and a few others here). These are high-brow things.. not for the Great Unwashed.

The rest of everyone is just sheeple. Baaaaaa baaaaaaa. And one Canuck Potato. (where does he vanish these days?)

Maybe a thousand years ago some idiot said people from the same village are brothers and sisters.... they said it to stop the villagers from fighting among themselves, perhaps.

But people... being idiots.... took that so literally, even a thousand years later, this was the result.

Yes, some places have more than their share of idiots and some less... we can argue that for a long time.

Welcome to my world, Tosser.

On another subject, I read from other sources that Pakistan is on the way to being taken over by the Taliban. What does it look like to you.

What does it look like to you.

It looks like the opposite to me from here.

Who said that?

If Pakistan had been about to be taken over by the Taliban, how come the Taliban-supporters all lost in the elections? Everyone of them is out of a job.

The elections were their big chance to "take over Pakistan" and they blew that.

So now, no chance. Everyone saw they are only full of hot air with no political support.

I prefer to watch and see how events unfold. I do sense a strong sentiment against the US. Well deserved.

I do sense a strong sentiment against the US.

The "strong sentiment against the US" you sense is not really coming from the Taliban types. It is coming from people like me.

We are both anti-Islamist and anti-American. We can be both.

We are not anti-American like "death to America"... no, we are anti-American like "get out of our face dude". We recognize that there is... still... much good in America. But right now, you have lost control and we don't want to be art of it. This is why poor Mushi is so unpopular... because he is seen as Chimpy's pal.

That site doesn't know what it's talking about. To be anti-American, one does not have to be pro-Taliban.

You will also be happy to know that our kind of "anti-americanism" can be reversed. We can easily become pro-American again as we once were.

Get rid of the monkey.

Talking of Taliban taking over Islamabad with the force of guns is the same as if I talk of the Ku Klux Klan taking over Washington with guns.

Can't happen? Ridiculous?

Yep. Same here.

That's a healthy rational outlook, but I'm not counting on our political leaders to be rational. There is no problem they cause that they can't make worse.

First, there is the American military going after Taliban on Pakistan borders. Second, if the attack on Iran goes through that monkey will have grown into a guerrilla. These are dangerous times as I don't have to tell you.

Tosser

Taking into consideration what you tell me about the Taliban. What do you think the chances are of Musharraf being tossed out of office by his political rivals? In that event, I can see Washington getting hysterical.

Can someone please blot out Nancy Grace, for Christ's sake??????????

Here's an example coming out of the mainstream press.

"Musharraf is quickly losing his grip on Pakistan
Parliament is expected to confirm a new prime minister on Monday, further isolating Musharraf."
www.csmonitor.com

Ray:

That news is Ooooooldddd! LOL.

We have a new Prime Minister since late March.

We are also sure he is a lobotomized moron. He can't swat a fly, how can he take a swipe at Mushi?

Mushi won the election for President. He is President for the next 5 years.

Then we just had an election for the Prime Minister.

The President can fire the Prime Minister. So how is Mushi going to get tossed out of his job? It is very very hard to do. Almost impossible.

In that event, I can see Washington getting hysterical.

In case something happened to Mushi, America will become hysterical?

No.... the person behind the useless puppet of a new Prime Minister, is Bhutto's husband. He himself isn't Prime Minister because he isn't elected. But he controls all the stings.

And he can't say no to America because that is where he hid all the money his bitch of a wife, Benazir Bhutto, stole from the people of Pakistan.

American military going after Taliban on Pakistan borders

Let them. This is what they should be doing. Everything is fine as long as they don't cross the border. And that is something they can't do (they don't have the firepower).

This thread is about India....

If you or anyone want to talk to me about what is happening in Pak, here is my email (will expire in 7 days)

You mean the US does not want to support Taiwan in a war against China?

Caught you in a hypocritical statement, Larry. Care to comment?

How is My statement Hypocritical??

Larry Mohr

"JUDAS"....To try to compare the long History of INDIA with America, really shows who foolish your argument is. INDIA History is Thousands of years old, America is a pup in terms of History. An yet INDIA is where this happened, even though India has been a Democracy on for 60 years, there culture is thousands of years old. An I doubt they will change soon.

America has cultural behavior form 170 different Countries how is that equal to the Indian Culture, where 99.9% of those living there are INDIAN?

America is a new experiment in term of World history, there is no place on earth like it in terms of diversity, no comparesome at all....

The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign was launched on Mother's Day 2008. The goal of the campaign is to prosecute honorcides to the fullest extent of the law. We want honorcide to be classified as a hate crime and we advocate for every existing hate crime legislation to be amended to include honorcide.

Looks like gold is leveling off or even dipping a little? Of course everything can't keep going up non-stop forever (except for oil prices, it seems).

CELISARY....YOU MADE A GOOD POINT.....but i never said that things would change over night....if you would read my post....i said it would change over time

YES... some countries do mature faster than others....but you would have to ask yourself....when India becames a democracy...did it change for the better.....and do you think in the next 100 years it would be better than it is today

there is no such thing as McDemocracy....even though americans like having things fast

Wow...Judas...your...writing.. .is...surprisingly
