The tornado that swept through Oklahoma ravaged the mining town of Picher, one of the most polluted SuperFund sites in the U.S., and could help persuade the last of its 800 residents to leave. "I guess I'll just have to move sooner," said resident Sue Sigle.

I'd stay now the piles of lead are in other places now.

Very sad story. I'd be gettin' the hell outta Dodge myself if I lived there.

(Or wait, Dodge is in Kansas...)

I have about 8 large bags of women's clothing in very good condition to give away.
Are there any local agencies in those tornado/storm hit states that are by chance hooking up with the Salvation Army or Goodwill and looking for clothing donations? I would be willing to contact Goodwill/Salvation Army here on my end in California and designate them for pickup specifically as a donation for those states that were hit the hardest and need the most help with items such as clothing, etc. If you don't know maybe some of your family members or neighbors might. I haven't seen OOHRAH on here to ask him.

Me wonder why nobody bitch about helping rebuilt home in tornado alley but plenty of bitching on rebuilding of New Orleans. People are so strange.

Tornado alley is a bunch of white people but who would say racism doesn't come into play! The republican party? The democratic party?

Birds of a feather....

Probably because people there tend to not just sit on their hands and wait for the chopper full of government cheese to come.
