Helen Thomas: Some readers resented The Washington Post for publishing an Associated Press photograph of a critically wounded Iraqi child being lifted from the rubble of his home in Baghdad's Sadr City "after a U.S. airstrike."

war is hell.

yeah, imagine if you actually had to fight the fucking thing.

so easy to be an arm chair quarterback...

yeah, imagine if you actually had to fight the fucking thing.

yeah, and imagine you were in an army where you were sent by fucking incompetent lying politicians to fight in one, where nobody knew quite what the fuck you were there for.

We should never be informed about where our bombs land. It upsets the children, is in poor taste, and is most probably un-American.

No offense, but you are one queer creature - and I can't say I entirely disagree with your sentiment. However, if we can't know what our own "children" are killing and dying for what point is there in supplying the military with anything whatsoever? They have lied from the get-go - shock & awe was a tremendous mistake, flattening Fallujah is now disastrous, Basra is never going to be safe for Americans, it's an untenable situation all 'round. The end result of not knowing these events until well after the fact - we are stuck in Iraq attempting to rebuild an infrastructure that cannot defend itself. A constant stream of government murders, extortion and corruption at every level cannot govern without massive payoffs. Plus, we now have generations of anti-Americanism across the globe. Even though we didn't see this damage first-hand, someone else certainly does.

redlight:
Never say "never." I'm sure McCain can turn it around in, say, 100 years.

yeah, and imagine you were in an army where you were sent by fucking incompetent lying politicians to fight in one, where nobody knew quite what the fuck you were there for.

Sitdown, you might wanna get into the 21st century? I understand it's hard to get out of Vietnam mode, using the same lines now as were used then. Maybe you've smoked too much dope, or sniffed too much glue?...but we're doing well over there in Iraq...case you didn't hear.

but we're doing well over there in Iraq...case you didn't hear.

Five years on and you Repub pussies haven't got shit to show for it except 4000 dead and $1/2 trillion borrowed from China. Why don't you stop drinking the oxycontin laced pus from Rush's anal cyst and enlist already.

Yes, and REINSHITBAG you're hatred of Bush doesn't allow you to see anything else but your hatred.

"But we're doing well over there (Iraq)...."

As far as I can tell, and I watch constantly, there's been almost no net change in Iraq for almost five years.

Feel free to bring out any point to the contrary you desire. I could anticipate the two or three available to you. It would be a pleasure dissecting them into triviality.

Douchetard Thomas is just another pathetic chickenhawk pussy who buys into the cancervatives bullshit about the "progress" being made in Iraq. Have we turned the corner yet dumbfuck?

And miscreants like REINSHITBAG dupe themselves into believing that free health care will save us!

There's a muslim. Boo!! Douchetard Thomas probably just crapped his pants like a good little Chimptard.

"Free health care will save us...."

As others have noted, the money spent in Iraq might have formed the basis for a dandy health system in this country.

Go talk to a land mine the next time you think you have cancer. Be sure to explain your symptoms slowly and carefully. Tell me if you improve later. Really, I'm interested.

Go stick your hand into the wound again, Doubting Thomas. You are unreal.

No shit it sucks.

I always laugh when Right Wing Fucktards glorify war and psychopathicly shrug off civilian deaths.

As others have noted, the money spent in Iraq might have formed the basis for a dandy health system in this country.

Uhuh, and the 6 trillion dollars this country has spent on the war against poverty gave us a dandy poverty fighting system too! Last I checked, we've exacerbated poverty with our govt. wellfare system. Hey, but I'm sure they'll get it right with health care!

Been listening to John Lenin's "Imagine" song again, haven't you REINSHITBAG?

Demented ThimbleDick, Chimpy needs more cannon fodder for his excellent adventures. He's even lowered admission standards so that low life scum such as yourself can get in on the fun.

It is past time for the US MSM to find their collective balls and start telling it like it is to the American people. We've been sheltered enough from the horrors of this war and before long those horrors are going to come home and roost right on our faces. We have our young soldiers coming home mained in body and mind. Committing suicide in record numbers and we have to wake up and see what is happening. It is time for us to be horrified and for us to also find our collective balls and tell the mis-administration and the eunuchs in Congress that we have had enough of the killing and the lying and the crazed spending of our tax dollars. Time for us to take our government back from the criminals who have stolen it from us.

"A dandy poverty system, too...."

You miss the point entirely. Money spent in this country for peaceful development always has the chance of increasing basic productivity.

Money spent on the military always remains just money spent on the military. Not to repeat my self, but when you need a school but only have the mortar shell people don't have a place to become educated.

These are not radical ideas, by the way. I take my lead from President Eisenhower, a great man.

I've looked into a few national health systems. None are perfect, but each of them seems inordinately better than what we have now.

"I've looked into a few national health systems. None are perfect, but each of them seems inordinately better than what we have now."

You are right Zed. None are perfect. Also something the right wing fucktards forget is the socialist health care systems often require co-pays for visits and don't cover elective procedures. they also don't waste money only extraordinary efforts that won't prolong life. But they are focused on preventive care.

But the real kicker is the US spends twice as much money on health care than EU countries although the life expectancy for many of these countries are longer than in the US.

Basically the US system is the most ineffeicient and expensive as compared to most EU systems and less beneficial.

Please, what are the qualifications for "doing well over there"? From the recent contractors testimony on C-SPAN it's apparent that hundreds of millions of US dollars, military equipment, government infrastructure have been wasted, stolen and otherwise misappropriated since the onset of the invasion. I'm hoping for something to demonstrate Iraqi's are capable of defending their families and places of business, but it's a pretty glum picture thus far, imo.

What gives you any idea that there is an emerging benefit in any way? Has another 12x12 schoolroom without electricity and water been nailed together?

Speak of which, how often is the electricity operational in Baghdad's green zone? From where do you get your information? Links please.

Some folks are just so stupid that they believe the same lie no matter how many times you tell it.

Money spent on the military always remains just money spent on the military. Not to repeat my self, but when you need a school but only have the mortar shell people don't have a place to become educated.

'Guns or butter?' These are not radically new concepts you're speaking of, zed...(ike) unless one is an ignorant daddy worshipping dittohead like doubtingthomas...

The warships launched somwhere were obviously detrimental to his education.

BTW, NODOUBTYOUREARETARD, Have you seen where the Washington Post today is reporting that the Pentagon has been cremating the remains of our dead soldiers in a pet crematorium? Keep supporting the troops you 21% "Bush is still the greatest president" morons!

Have we turned the corner yet dumbfuck?

You make a very good arguement rei.

Just 6 more months! We're turing the corner!

I would so liket to see a DR right-winger - ANY right-winger - make a point. Some kind of logical, coherent argument. On ANYthing. Something other than calling names, or accusing those with very real criticisms of "hating." The rightie sound is at varying levels, their fury an inarticulate frothing-at-the-mouth that someone is better educated than they. But they still signify nothing. herm

or 'innocent' terrorist organizations...

Cheney/Bandar/Elliot Abrams Funded Terrorist Group Now At War in Lebanon

In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, May 22, New Yorker magazine investigative journalist Seymour Hersh repeated charges he published in that magazine in March, that the Bush Administration has been working with Saudi Arabia to arm Sunni fundamentalist cells, to fight Hezbollah. The recent explosion of violence in northern Lebanon between the Lebanese Army and the previously little-known group Fatah al-Islam, is but the latest example of this rotten collusion, Hersh charged.

"The US is trying to put the blame for the Lebanon melt-down onto designated patsies Iran and Syria, but the reality is that the US has been playing their usual covert games, and it just blew up on their faces." says M.R. of WRH

Er, adjust for racial and ethnic minorities, and review the life expectancy of people of comparable background.

The Iraqi have no consideration for human life. They use civilians, even woman and children, as targets in suicide bombings and as human shields in engagements.

So, there are casualties. That's the nature of the world.

Move to Erewhon if you want to live in some imaginery realm. The real world is different. Young little animals, still suckling, are killed to provide veal and lamb. In Argentina as I recall, nonato was a delicacy. That's unborn calf, prepared after its mother is slaughtered.

You're not living in the Garden of Eden. Be thankful that the combat is occurring elesewhere. Let's keep it that way. The fighting has been unnecessarily prolonged by our restrained tactics, not demolishing the strongholds of our enemies and destroying their ability and will to resist using our technological superiority.

Our worst enemy is the maudlin sentimentality of those of you who have been sheltered from real world events all of your lives, living in the protected society of America.

You folks should be down on your hands and knees kissing the soil of this great country.

& we do:>)LOL

Johnson is just going off like a rabid fucktard once again.

Are Danni & I the only ones who "get" Johnson?

wow.

Johnson is a plant. Or a vegetable. Not sure which, but I refuse to believe someone on this board could be crazier than Tadowe.

Perfect

Seems like old times.

Nah. Too much brevity.

Tad's post would have been extremely long, verbose, and full of bold, italics, and 3 different type sizes.

Fucking Puling Hypocrite scum sucking subversive Anti American traitorous terrorist loving appeasers. Does THAT help You TedBaxter?? I hope so because now I need a bath after that. NO Bubbles though just a cup of clorox will do nicely.

Larry Mohr

Larry, Larry, Larry,

You can stop now.

I find I don't miss him all that much after all.

Ted issues the standard Leftist mockery, "Damn, that's impressive."
It is impressive, despite your anti-military effort at sarcasm. It must really get your goat that there are still Americans loyal enough, and dedicated to our way of life and laws, to serve voluntarily in the military ... right?
I noticed that Leftists and, or Democratics treated our soldiers much better and with much more respect when they were invading Bosnia to involve the USA in a foreign civil war for Democratics ... then those air wars against Iraq, then the efforts to assassinate a Somalian political leader, then the invasion to involve us in a Haitian civil war ... Our soldiers were brave and dedicated heroes, then ...
Now, of course, since a Republican is in the Whitehouse, to Democratics our soldiers are torturers, murderers, fascists and nazis that can be used for political purposes when they die fighting for democracy and against human sacrifice by stacking them up in piles to count as HORROR and FASCISM'S REWARD!
What a pack of puling, poltroonish partisan pissants they make of themselves in their "Democratic" hypocrisy and anti-patriotic acting out ... scum sucking traitors!

man, you sure must be diligent to find that one, Larry...or really bored?:>)

Bani probably really bored and stupid. But hey just trying to help TedBaxter in His time of need. You know when You miss someone so much You wish You could somehow go back in time and relive it again. Just trying to bring a little Tadowe back into TedBaxter's life.

Larry Mohr

Tadowe had a fiery tornado style of writing ~ that's for sure...

Larry,

Thank you so much. That will be quite enough.

I'm over it now.

You are quite welcome TedBaxter always eager to help.

Larry Mohr

No they read the NEW YOR SLIME.

Helen Thomas ends her editorial stating the it is up to the news media to tell the truth. My question is WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO START. HELEN!

"Tadowe had a fiery tornado style of writing ~ that's for sure..."

I always thought he kept it a little "fair and balanced." After all, the leftist-socialist "elites" here had DethSpud, Redneckville, Danni and a few others while the conservatives had Tadowe. Some of our little friends just need to lighten up....pull the cobs out of their asses.

I can't wait till Obama Pulls us out and millions of muslims kill each other.

It didn't seem to hurt the US after our civil war..

Due to life's propensity to occasionally throw a couple of unexpected high & tights, my participation here over the past couple of months has been marked by extended periods of necessary absences. I take it that ToadWoe no longer graces us with his vitriolic verbetical fecundity? Aw..fudge. He was the Sun Ra of posters. Johnson is just a babbling Foghorn Leghorn impersonator pinin' for the fiords and not qualified to fluff Toad's johnson.

"I can't wait till Obama Pulls us out and millions of muslims kill each other."

Obama won't pull us out. Once he assumes office our presence in Iraq will become some sort of a a "change of purpose" to repair the damage of the Bush administration. We'll have an obligation to remain there to restore, rather than exploit the nation etc. etc. Same shit, different story, & the public will swallow it hook ,line & sinker.

From ealier:

"...Yes, and REINSHITBAG you're hatred of Bush doesn't allow you to see anything else but your hatred.Posted By Doubing Thomas"

This coming from a turd-blossom who doesn't allow himself to see anything but his Hatred for Clinton(s) who hasn't been president for 8 years!

Hypocrite!

Helen Thomas failed to mention the intentional use of civilians to shield terrorist murderers....you can't decide not to kill them just because they hide behind civilians.....They're counting on you not doing that....Terrible method, outside of Geneva, so we owe them no Geneva concessions...What they should do is point out these civilian deaths and point out every time the terrorists do this, assigning them the responsibility for it.
