Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The U.S. economic downturn has spread personal financial worries far and wide, but women are more worried about paying bills, losing jobs, providing for children and saving for retirement, according to a study released on Thursday.

The study comes as the U.S. economy has been mired in a half-year-long period of stagnation accompanied by a shrinking job market, rising energy prices and a downward spiral in consumer confidence.

Thi story does not quite fit the lib template. It should read like this: The anxiety about the Bush economy is affecting women and minorities most severely. White guys are getting over again!

All women should be rich cunts and trollops like my second wife. I'm not sure how my first wife is doing, but screw her. She never flew me around in a private jet or let me use her bank accounts to launder bribes.

John McBush.

Women have more anxiety because they have always unfairly made less money than men at comparable jobs even when they worked just as hard -- ergo they have less money and more worry. Women too will be let go (or downsized) from their jobs before men are let go, and women in a divorce have to pay for raising the kids. Child support received (if the guy even pays it) doesn't come close to the real cost of raising a kid today.

Women worry more because they know it will be their children who are going to suffer the most. The Bush economy has rewarded the wealthy and the working class can eat cake.

You've got cake?!? Want to adopt me?

YEAH!
"A Woman's Place is in the Home" --- followed only minutes later with:
"Maybe they should spend less time raising welfare babies and more time working second and third jobs"!

This message brought to you by the Bush Coalition of "Family Values"

1. There is a lot of femenist propagand and myths out there about how much women earn vs men. More wone are graduating from college and in many cities and professions women are earning equal or more than men.

2. Of course, only women are concerned about their children, men just like to eat their young.

This should come as no surprise to anyone. Women are the canary in the coal mine.

This should come as no surprise to anyone, women just worry too damn much!

Somebody has to use their brain.

FF for Member (for saying women worry too much)! You got that right. If I walk out the door, my wife locks it, since, after all, there was a murder in the next state over.

Or is she trying to lock me out?

Hmmmmmm

"Women cling to worrying and antipathy to other children cuter than there own in times if economic slowdown" - B.H. Obama

Yeah, that whole equality things a real PITA, isn't it.

So we don't let you get educations, jobs or leave the home without some stupid uniform and men are the assholes.

You demand your equal rights and make your lives even more complex then men's and then are startled when it sucks and is stressful.

Frankly, I'm tired of this bullshit. Either get in the kitchen and get happy or live your "dream life" of equality, responsibility and all the stress that it entails. And by the way, just how exactly is it men's problem that women are more stressed out by shit. If you're stressed out, that's your deal. I don't expect my boss, parents or my friends to help me when I get stressed out. Deal with you shit ladies.

Women worry more because they know it will be their children who are going to suffer the most. The Bush economy has rewarded the wealthy and the working class can eat cake.

The tax cuts for families under $50k have realy hurt the people. What is wrong with you?

I've had this argument with my wife before. She does everything she wants and then complains about the stress level tht comes along with all of it. But she doesn't consider making changes to reduce the stress. I spend a day or two in the casa del perro every time this subject comes up.

But sometimes its just so crazy I go willingly and with a smile on my face.

Great post NG, but you forget to add the verified FACT that McBush's second 'cunt', as he likes to call her, is also a drug addict that stole drugs from a clinic for the poor to support her habit. She avoided jail time because she was wealthy. Seems VERY ELITIST to me!

Women probably do worry more. It's one reason why they deserve reproductive rights. Males who wring their hands about "murdered" fetuses refuse even try to understand that. herm

She's smart in being cautious. Anybody who leaves their back and front doors
unlocked these days are nuts and just asking for trouble.

are nuts = is nuts

I concur with you that they do indeed deserve their reproductive rights. I actually thought about that after I posted here, because it plays into the question of single motherhood and how those women are especially burdened by economic problems according to the report.

Without the right to avoid motherhood altogether and also the right to give their children up for adoption these women don't have the ability to free themselves from some of these anxieties. That said, that's part of why I don't like hearing the griping about how hard it is. No one said they had to have kids or raise them after they give birth to them.

You want to be equal? Act more like men and refuse to take on the role of caregiver for once. You'd be amazed at the empowerment that you'll feel just from saying, no. It's that or shut up.

Anyhow, I posted more about this over at my blog,
www.dumbwhore.com

You want to be equal? Act more like men and refuse to take on the role of caregiver for once.

So those who need a caregiver -- the young, the sick, the very elderly -- can just go to hell?

IF they want to feel less anxious, yes. I'm just saying bear the cross gracefully or set the damn thing down.

Health Care: Women and children and the poor hit hardest.

Economy: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

Gas Prices: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

Global Warming: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

Housing Crisis: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

UN Food Aid: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

Typhoon: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

Imigrant Crackdown: Women, children and the poor hit hardest.

This are examples of Headlines expected in high school newsletters.

Women are averse to risk and worry more. As if it would do any good.

Men accept it and consequently earn more on average.

This really pisses women off and they whine a lot and get more with less effort and risk.

Women, minorities and even illegal aliens are hired preferentially, particularly in Government jobs, the only growing field today

I don't think anyone's said anything about it being the fault of men that women worry more; it's just a fact. My husband doesn't worry about our financial situation as much as I do (and I am really stressed) but he uses his energy to try to solve the problem. Men and women are just oriented differently. There's no "fault" involved.

toni, don't you know we have to choose sides and argue about every post?

We are wired different and it dosen't just show in the worry department. There are a lot of differences between men and women. Some people just choose to ignore it.

How true. Men can slough things off so much easier while women naturally worry more. I think it's because women care more about what happens not only to themselves but to others -- their family, friends and acquaintances, and sometimes even strangers. Women are less able to defend themselves in many ways men don't even think twice about which also adds to a woman's concerns.

To most men it doesn't matter all that much what happens to others as long as it doesn't cause themselves any stress or personal inconvenience. That's the way it is. But the world would be a most unpleasant place to live in if it were totally devoid of a woman's touch or their natural concern for others.

The reason women worry more is cause they have more to worry about! Okay lets say for instance that the economy really does go down the toilet and it costs, I don't know $10.00 for a loaf of bread what do I tell DH when he comes home for his seventh consecutive dinner of beans and rice? when it costs half a week's wages to feed my pets? When putting gas in my car costs more than I earn a week? I am not saying that any of those scenarios are going to happen, I am simply saying that for the most part women have much more of the stress of every day living because for the most part women take care of the household. Personally I am hedging my bets. I am growing my own food, stocking up on essentials, going to buy some rain barrels in the next couple of weeks, if the economy really does tank, me and mine are not going to starve.
