Actually, I think it is a heart-warming story. If you read it, you would know it's not about circumcisions. It's about a man's medical contributions to some needy people -- everything from removing cysts to dental work. Circumcisions were mentioned only a couple of times. I think rcade just put it in the title for sensational value. Read the entire story. I don't think you'll find it so "creepy".

Does it never occur to Americans that there are places in this world- plenty of them- where availability of condoms is sketchy at best? These circumcisions are one of the few protections these kids will get against HIV, and even though it's limited protection, it's proven in field studies, done at a cost that will not burden poor communities.

In a perfect world, every little boy should get to make the decision about circumcision for himself when he grows up. But when it comes to dealing with a pandemic, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
