Of course the rightists thinks that all discrimination is a thing of the past and we can just forget about any civil rights legislation since there are no more bigots hiring people or deciding their futures. maybe they should consider this part of the 1967 USSC decision:

"There can be no doubt that restricting the freedom to marry solely because of racial classifications violates the central meaning of the equal protection clause," the court ruled in a unanimous decision."

And this statement by Mildred Loving:

"We loved each other and got married," she told The Washington Evening Star in 1965, when the case was pending. "We are not marrying the state. The law should allow a person to marry anyone he wants."

However, as stated several times in the past---the government decides who can marry and who can not marry. Religion has nothing to do with marriage laws, and religion does not say who can marry and who can not. The right to perform marriage ceremonies comes from the government--not the church, and not any particular sky fairy.

"The People" had nothing to do with this decision as is the case with most laws.

It was illigal in Virginia until 1967.

Personally, I think it was a great mistake to repeal a law forbidding interspieces marriages. Nothing makes me sicker to my stomach than the sight of some negro beast walking arm in arm with a White woman. I find it offensive and revolting.

What about MY RIGHT not to be make sick to my stomach? Why should I and millions of other Whites have to suffer just so a handful of people can satisfy their jungle fever?

I'm looking forward to the day when we as a nation can come to terms on a demoographic America that will make everyone happy.
