For someone who's so devoted to the military, I find it strange you're so in love with Blackwater.

Blackwater mercenaries are paid ten times what a real soldier is paid; they damage the reputation of the US military by their actions, and they help inflame resentment to the US presence.

They perform no service real soldiers couldn't perform, and the only reason they are there is because Rumsfeld wanted to do this on the cheap with as few soldiers as possible. When that plan went out the window, he ended up hiring thousands of mercenaries at hugely inflated prices so he wouldn't have to admit the truth and publicly deploy actual American soldiers.

They are nothing but gold-plated rent-a-cops hired to save Rummy and Bush from embarassment, at huge cost to American taxpayers, and to our reputation abroad. Your support for them is completely at odds with your claim of respect for REAL American soldiers. If anything, hiring Blackwater is spitting in the face of the American armed forces and real American men and women who serve.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more outrageous it is that you can even consider Blackwater as being in any way, shape or form to be morally equivalent to American Servicepeople. Mercenary contractors are not patriots; in many instances, they are not even American. They are only motivated by profit, which means they are NOT motivated by American interests, or the interests of the American people.

Indeed, it is becoming increasingly apparent that they are in fact a way of going around the will of the American people who pay their salaries. Their interest is in the US being involved in MORE conflict, and I wouldn't put it past them to actively encourage conflicts in which American lives would be lost and American interests damaged, all for the sake of another fat contract.

Equating these guys with American soldiers is outrageously disrespectful to the men and women of the armed forces. While they may consider themselves loyal Americans individually, they are nothing more than mercenaries as a whole, and a trend that needs to be rooted out and crushed.
