Just a year ago, Fox News Channel was considered a pariah in many Democratic circles. But it appears that the cable news network is no longer in the doghouse. Consider this week: On Sunday, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) made a long-awaited appearance on Fox News Sunday, a booking that host Chris Wallace had been seeking for more than two years. (The show airs on both the Fox broadcasting network and its sister cable channel.) On Wednesday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) granted her first interview to Bill O'Reilly, a commentator viewed with antipathy by much of the left, in no small part because of his denunciations of the Clintons in the 1990s. And this coming Sunday, Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean plans to sit down with Wallace for the first time since November 2006.

Too classic.

Billary and Obambi pandering to Wallace and O'Reilly...what's next, the former head of the DNC praising Fox News as "Fair and Balanced"?

Frustrated by what they see as a pro-Obama slant in much of the media, Clinton backers such as McAuliffe and Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell have been particularly complimentary of Fox News of late.

The channel even ran a promo recently featuring McAuliffe lauding it as "fair and balanced."
Oh...never mind.

I have a feeling that a large number of the DR Left will feel like their heads are going to explode if they take the time to read this article.

"Billary and Obambi pandering to Wallace and O'Reilly...what's next, the former head of the DNC praising Fox News as "Fair and Balanced"?"

Yeah! What's next, JC talking to Hamas, BHO talking to Chavez, Castro, and Ahmadinejad? I thought Liberals liked dialogue with their enemies, was I wrong? Is Fox News more of an enemy than Iran to then?

LOL!

My head isn't going to explode, and I have always felt that the angst against Fox News (at least the pure news part) has been overplayed by the Dems. I can't stand their commentators, who are (un)fair and (un)balanced, but on the whole I don't have a problem with their straight news reporting.

First the righty tighties pitch a royal bitchfest declaring that Obama and Hellary are too chickenshit to go on foxnews. Then when they DO go on foxnews they spew the liberals will all be up in arms about it. You can't make Republicans happy. They always find SOMETHING to pitch a hissy fit over.

LAR-
I think what you are referencing was the Dem failure to debate on FOX.

As to an individual deciding to go on the enemy network, it's all about getting votes. Nothing more. We all know there are plenty of Dems and 'moderates' who watch FOX and those are the folks both Clinton & Obama are vying for during the primaries.

Personally I'm glad to see they've stepped out of their comfort zone. I think, deep down, you are too.

" I can't stand their commentators, who are (un)fair and (un)balanced"

That's their job. It's why they are commentators, No different from the hacks on the editorial page of the NYT

"I have a feeling that a large number of the DR Left will feel like their heads are going to explode if they take the time to read this article."

I haven't exploded yet but I do feel a tremendous amount of pressure building, I am going to do something though, I will have my son ready with a camcorder just in case. At least he could become rich selling the footage. If you don't see my posts for a while you will know what happened.

Obama has to soothe the feathers of the gun-nuts. I watched these hicks screaming about how he was going to take away their assault rifles. Oh No!!

While I don't think anyone needs a 30-round banana-clip for their 'hunting rifle", I also have yet to see ANYWHERE where Obama has said he would try to take away the guns from you rednecks. It will never happen. There's nothing to worry about.

Also, he's half white as well and I don't think he has any plans to enslave all you toothless southerners to get back at you for slavery. No worries.

Then when they DO go on foxnews they spew the liberals will all be up in arms about it.

Actually, Larry, if you go to Kos, the average poster there is apoplectic about this. I haven't seen this much vitriol since the last time AU threatened to leave the DR for good.

ff for Danni

Even i have to admit that was good danni....

Why would I think going on the Foxnews (Bush Propaganda channel) is a refreshing feeling OohRah?? I mean come on the Foxnews network just parrots whatever the Administration spews no matter how assinine it is. Hell how many times did those sad sacks declare that WMD was found when they knew it was BULLSHIT. So why would I rejoice at Hellary and Obama making the rounds to Foxnews. I figure now it may shut up the Righty Tighties for a while but I ain't holding My breath. I ain't THAT stupid.

Larry Mohr

Cozy up to Fox?

What is it called when MSNBC airs their nightly Pro-Obama rally? Cozy up to Obama maybe?

Hey Danni make sure You put enough towels down when You DO explode. I'd hate to think about THAT mess.

Head of Fox News gives $4,600 to Hillary's campaign and $12,500 to the Democrats.

Yes, but I bet you see people like Chris Matthews, Wolfe Blitzer, Lou Dobbs, Keith Olobermann, etc. as the fairest and most balanced commentators on television. Just remember, the next time you're upset with FOXNEWS, that every other station on the dial is left and has been since forever. The right gets one station that doesnt make them want to throw their TV's out the window and you guys can't even handle that.

You're right...EVERY other channel is left of FAUX News....because they're so far right. I'm not saying that the FUX is the only right-wing media. In fact, most of the MSM is right-wing, but the right tells you that it's 'left wing' media and so you believe them.

FOX ain't right. That's just what the lib ho's call anything they don't like. FOX just reports the news instead of trying to influence it. "Courage!"

Fat little fuckers like Hannity and Limbaugh are making millions sermonizing on hate radio/TV... with just a little luck in the coming elections their IRS taxation rates will go way up into the stratosphere... and I'm sure the sleazy bastards are losing sleep over the prospect.

It's not hate, Lib....it's just reporting the news in an entertaining sorta way. Why are you so worried? The other channels are dominated by anti-establishmentr libs like you...pick your channel. "CHANGE!"

"The other channels are dominated by anti-establishmentr libs like you...pick your channel."

LOL! Yeah, GE, for instance, is "anti-establishmentr"!

You're a riot, dude.

Hell, BusyB, the owner of your "Fair and Balanced" red-white-and-blue channel isn't even an American, and its print version, the Washington Times, is owned by the Rev. Moon (aka, head moonie aka Son of God).

It doesn't matter. The news is to the point and true....unlike your fav's.

Anyone voting for Hillary has to seriously ask themselves why do the republicans want so desparately to go against Hillary and are terrified to death of facing Barack Obama. I would think if the republicans are confident of their message they would be dying to confront Barack who is according them so far left wing.

BusyB-
You didn't know any of that, did you?

Huh?

BusyB-
Hell, where to begin:

Did you know that the "anti-establishmentr" channels you hate are owned by good ole American corporations, and the channel you love is owned by a foreigner, while your favorite print newspaper is owned by moonies?

In any case, it frightens me when anyone - of any political stripe - claims that they are getting the inerrant "truth" from any one source.

REZNWERKS,

We don't care who we face from the democrat party both candidates suck.

Also, many of us like myself don't really care if John McCain gets elected either.

What we want is for the american people to see what a cluster fuck the democrat party really is and throw their sorry 11% approval ratings asses out of congress as well as state and local offices.

They are all going on FOX for different reasons.

Obama has to repair his image with moderate working-class clingers.

Hillary has to reach the same folks and she knows there not watching MSNBC or the other Obama-can-do-no-wrong channels.

Dean is just an idiot that has been getting so trashed lately, he'll go anywhere where he might get a fair shake.

BTW, anyone catch Jon Stewart ripping Dean a new one last night. Good stuff!

This about Fox getting behind the winners baby. Fox was and will continue to be the mouthpiece of the administration and the administration will be Dem. Fox is just rolling out the welcome mat to the next Pres.

Crackpipe-
If McCain got elected would he be for extending Bush's tax cuts, as he says now, or against it, as he vehemently said then? Would he be for his own immigration bill, as he obviously was then, or against it, as he claims now? Would he revert to claiming that many lead conservative ministers are "agents of intolerence", as he did then, or would his views now reflect his strategy of eagerly embracing their endorsements, as he does now? Does he now believe that we should leave Iraq as soon as possible, as he said then, or should we just stay for a hundred years, as he says now, etc. etc.?

Oh, and when is he going to release his joint tax returns with the young heiress whom he cheated with and then married after dumping his crippled wife (and mother of his children)?

The tools of propaganda belong to the party in power. Fox is gonna be a registered Dem. in 6 months. Mark'em.

re: "Fox was and will continue to be the mouthpiece of the administration and the administration will be Dem."

Did you watch FOX in the nineties? Their history is fairly clear: Demonize Democrats, and give Republicans a pass on just about anything.

lol

I disagree with you because FOX has been trying to get the Democratic candidates on for a couple of years.

I have to admit however, I admire your positive outlook. heh

Anyone voting for Hillary has to seriously ask themselves why do the republicans want so desparately to go against Hillary and are terrified to death of facing Barack Obama. -Rezenwerks

a. Because the Right has dirt on Bill and the Clinton marriage which they think might totally undo Hillary's electability./>

b. More credibly, because they feel correctly that Obama would beat McCain by at least 15%, and bring up to 10 Senators with him.

Yep, I saw it. They are far more about entertainment than news. The conservative show has become stale and unpopular and will be cancelled like a bad sitcom.

Sit,
They don't even need dirt to beat Hillary. I think your right about the congress though. Obama as president means Dem domination of congress.

COMMONSENSE - Just for the record, should you do a little research on the background of the 2nd Amendment, you will find that it is not about 'hunting'.

"Also, many of us like myself.."

Crackpipe do you think there ARE many like you?

Scary

The dems are running scared so they run to FOX... I LOVE IT.............

sitdown, is that what the rep party told you? 15% give me a break. JM will smoke either of them.

You're right...EVERY other channel is left of FAUX News....because they're so far right. I'm not saying that the FUX is the only right-wing media. In fact, most of the MSM is right-wing, but the right tells you that it's 'left wing' media and so you believe them.

Oh, give it a rest already. Ty to look at it this way. Being on the left it is only normal of you to view left leaning news reporters and interviewers as being straight forward. On the other hand, someone on the right sees and hears the bias from the commentator because it jumps out at them.

You view FOXNEWS and the right leaning commentators say things that jump out at you but it doesn't bother conservatives. This is why you are unable to see the bias from CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, etc. The cable stations tend to be more left leaning, but I think it's very obvious that CBS, especially, comes across with left side reporting.

It's just the way it is and for you to deny that it doesn't occur shows that you are in denial, or you aren't being intellectually honest.

They always find SOMETHING to pitch a hissy fit over.

uhy larry.....I beg to difer....I have NEVER 'pitched a hissy fit'...how gay is that? LOL

Hey BLT I hear Wally World has a sale on clues. Buy 4 get 3 free. I am sure You have a Wally World within Golf Cart distance. Maybe You should check into it.

Larry Mohr

"barrywaynehussin"

?

Is this some shibboleth of the whacked-out lunatic fringe that I've missed, BLT?

Betel--

Fox News is not owned by Moon--It is owned by Murdoch.

We are not talking about the Washington Post--who cares?

Hillary did a great job with O'Reilly.

Obama did fine with Wallace--

And the Daily Ko and others are going nuts.

Wait till Obama goes on O'Reilly!

Watching Obama on Meet Depress and it's the same ol' shit for a guy who is close to being a communist in his views for the country.

Appease the enemies --1920's. Economic policies that would result in worse realities for the country. He wants to do the same as Carter--tax the oil companies profits--bad idea--been there done that with disaterous results.

More welfare for people--especially for blacks--nothing wrong I guess with that--but nearly all of the Obama bills in the senate were for blacks only.

Murphy

"communist"?

Please, get some new canard material.
