He also called Indianans "worthless," "white" and "shit."

One wonders if he ever refers to states with large populations of African-Americans as being full of "worthless, black shit" as well.

Nahh. Couldn't be. The Clintons and their cronies love all people.

By the way, were Carville and Snuffaluppagus vehemently disagreeing with the assessment?

Holy freaking crap, youtube rules!!

See the smirks on those douchebags faces?

Condemn and reject!
Shame on you, Hillary!

Hillary needs to do a speech on race denouncing his immediately.

Then Kantor and Rev. Wright can form a Nazi-unity party to run in the Fall.

White Nig .... ?

I think the corect term is "whigger" , right?

How do these assholes continue to get by with things like this?

Do you remember when Carville said that Paula Jones was the kind of woman that you attract by dragging a $100.00 bill through a trailer park?

(BTW: If true, what does that say about Bubba's taste....???)

Anyway, these kinds of things go to show what Clintonistas really think about less well-heeled Americans.

. . .a review of the original copy of the 1993 film The War Room, from which the excerpt was taken (around the 4:40 mark) is virtually inaudible. The sound suggests, if anything, that instead of saying "How would you like to be a worthless white n****r?" Kantor says, "How would you like to be in the White House right now?"

However. . .

The cropped video, which spread through the Internet like wildfire on Friday morning, shows Kantor with fellow former Bill Clinton staffers James Carville and George Stephanopoulos discussing results from the general election. In the footage, Kantor approaches the two aides and says, "Look at Indiana -- wait, wait, look at Indiana. 42-40. It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit." That much seems true. . .

Ummm....if I understand the term "whigger," I don't think that particular term describes the typical Indianan.

I think Kantor meant uncooth, unsophisticated, lazy, etc. -- not white guys who try to rap.

"Rich people---God bless us!"
Hillary Clinton

This video needs to be shown over the networks this weekend before the people of Indiana vote on Tuesday. And Hillary has the nerve to call Obama " Elite"???? This woman and her insiders will say anything, do anything to be elected.

Well, at least Kantor didn't call them "bitter." Some things are beyond the pale, you know.

-Well, at least Kantor didn't call them "bitter."

Apparently he didn't call them anything..... not whiggers, anyway.

"It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit" appears to mean that those people don't really count because, "It doesn't matter if we win".

Cropped video, out of context implication.... too bad.

Nice try, though.

"out of context implication.... too bad."

I see. Things are only "out of context" if they are bad for Hillary.

Corky really had to twist, lean, and push for that explanation: allied.blogspot.com

At least she putr her clothes on for this one: www.mikepellegrini.com

Whoa Corky...that's spreading it pretty thick.
Does context matter when you are saying shit like that about the voters? I don't think so.

Self-portrait, eh, Monte?

I think you captured your essence, though.

And the post does match your usual level of retort. Congrats!

Wow! How quick you are with the spin.

Apparently the Clinton campaign has your fax number. Your ability to refer to the talking points is second to none. You're a virtual "War Room" unto yourself.

Also, thanks for explaining to the rest of the world what this guy meant 15 years ago -- and that it doesn't matter. Indianans may feel differently about being referred to as "shit," however.

All I had to do was read Doc's post.

Perhaps you'll want to have the headline changed now that we know it is false, eh?

First of all, in the link provided in Doc's post Kantor refers to the most troubling part of his statement as unintelligible. Secondly, he denies ever using the 'n' word at any point in his life.

As a person with two ears, I disagree with his first assertion. Further, because I disagree with his first assertion, I find the second assertion to be -- if I may borrow a term from Kantor -- "shit."

Headline change?

OK:

"FOB: Indianans 'are shit.'"

I'll take that as a, "Doh!"

"God Damn American gun-toting, Bible-thumping, xenophobic bigots!" - Barrack O'Wright

Could you point out where the youtube clip departs from the unedited "War Room" clip for us, Corky?

Have you received the fax on that, yet?

And while you're at it, go ahead and explain why Kantor believed it was necessary to whisper.

I think you are obsessing on a 15 year old off the cuff comment by someone who is irrelevant to.... anything.

But I guess anything that might help Obama's downward Mo' is a straw worth grasping at.

"Do you think Mickey Kantor loves Indiana as much as you do, Senator Clinton?"

newsbusters.org
The second expletive, he said, appeared to have been entirely fabricated, with new audio dubbed onto the original movie

I'll take that as an admission that the youtube clip is identical to the original.

"What's more, Smith reports, Pennebaker says Kantor was referring to then-President George H.W. Bush's political advisors as "sh*t", not the people of Indiana themselves:
-I'll take that as an admission that the youtube clip is identical to the original.

"He said the initial expletive referred to the anticipated reaction in the Bush White House to the fact that Ross Perot's polling numbers were holding strong.

"What he says is he's surprised Perot's numbers are holding," said Pennebaker in a brief phone interview. "He says they must be shi**ing in the White House."

The second expletive, he said, appeared to have been entirely fabricated, with new audio dubbed onto the original movie."

from Kerrin's link.

So, now even the "shit" part stinks.

I think you have a real winner here, dud, er, dude.

Instead of having Pennebraker or any other Clinton sycophant interpret 15-year-old comments (partially whispered, oddly enough) for you, simply view the original War Room video and see how it stands up to the the Youtube clip. If you think the Youtube clip is doctored and/or not decipherable, that is wonderful.

In the meantime, just keep genuflecting at the hem of Hillary's yellow pantsuit.

Video: Clinton operative didn't call Indianans "white n*****s" in 1992 Update III: Dirty trick? Update: Character witness

"We're sorry, this video is no longer available."

Well, that didn't take long.

"We're sorry, this video is no longer available."

That about says it all.

"Update V: Here's the clip from War Room, thanks to Ed Driscoll. Go to about 4:30 in this YouTube, and see for yourself. The context is clearly the polling results and how bad they looked for the Bush campaign, referencing Texas specifically:

I understand the original video has been pulled by the owner. That tells us something.

Update (AP): For what it's worth, KP e-mails to say that she worked for Kantor at the White House and knows he'd never use language like this. I believe it: We're not talking about surveillance cam video here, where Kantor might not have known he was being recorded. Pennebaker had a lens right in his face. He'd have to be an abject moron to drop the N-bomb with the tape rolling.

I sure hope we don't find Team Barry's fingerprints on this highly racially polarizing little smear job."

Hot air, indeed.

-I sure hope we don't find Team Barry's fingerprints on this highly racially polarizing little smear job.

Wouldn't that be just.... scrumptious!

But then, who else would do it?

Corky,

Do yourself a favor and watch listen to this at about 4:30:
www.youtube.com

Afterwards, if you agree with the Clinton spin, great. If not, I'm sure you'll say you do anyway.

Kerrin's link has the original clip from War Room, not "Clinton Spin".

Game Over.

Thanks for playing!

Let me guess .... you listened to it .... and it confirms Pennebaker's recollection of the facts perfectly! Amazing!

The link has the original film that was altered for this hoax.

Is there something about that you don't comprende?

Give it up Anton...it was doctored!

Stay tuned as we figure out who created the fake tape. If it can be traced to the Obama campaign, it will probably severely damage him in Indiana and probably elsewhere.

So do you Obamaniacs suppose the Clinton's secretly created this tape to create this controversy? How Rovian.

"A former aide to President Bill Clinton, and current informal adviser to Sen. Hillary Clinton, expressed outrage and shock on Friday after a videotape from 1992 surfaced allegedly showing him describing Indianans as "white n---rs."

Mickey Kantor, who served as campaign chairman during Clinton's 1992 run for the White House and says he has offered help and advice to Sen. Clinton, insisted that the tape was a fraud and that he was exploring legal steps against the individual who posted it online.

"I've never used that word in my entire life, ever, under any circumstance, ever," an angry Kantor told The Huffington Post, citing his and his parent's work fighting for civil rights. "I have listened to [the video] and so have you. You can't tell what it is I'm saying in that second sentence, you can't decipher that."

Indeed, a review of the original copy of the 1993 film The War Room, from which the excerpt was taken (around the 4:40 mark) is virtually inaudible. The sound suggests, if anything, that instead of saying "How would you like to be a worthless white n****r?" Kantor says, "How would you like to be in the White House right now?"

The director of the film, moreover, says that Kantor never uttered those words. "He does not say that. He does not say that," D.A. Pennebaker told Ben Smith.

That's great.Listen to the original video, then.

After you do that, then look up the newspaper article from the Sydney Morning Herald in 1995 and the Washington Post film review from 1993 discussing the "shit" comment.

The original interpretation was that the word was directed at citizens of Indiana.

Someone take that shovel away from Anton before he hurts himself.

That almost deserves a self-deprecating funny flag. Unfortunately, I don't have an option for that.

Posted by montrosemom at 2008-05-02 12:24 PM

This woman and her insiders will say anything, do anything to be elected.

A politician would do this, and you are "astonished?" Where did you receive your instruction on the nature of politicians?

Fuck Johnson, get some original material. It was a lame retort in the first place.

Is Corky really Canadian?

There is a whole lot of "eh's" being typed on the keyboard!

We all know that the Clinton team has lots of respect for the voters... ho ho hum.

Much adoo about nothing. Clinton is finished. She reminds me at this point of that poor marathon runner a few years back. Everyone else had finished the race, but she wasn't gonna quit. She just kept on stumbling toward the finish line, even though she was publicly pooping on herself.
