Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Support for Barack Obama's nomination bid has rebounded among national Democratic voters, who now favor him over Hillary Clinton by a seven percentage point margin, 49% to 42%. This is first time Obama has had a statistically significant advantage over Clinton since the race collapsed into a dead heat late last week. Prior to that, Obama was enjoying his longest front-runner streak since the start of Gallup Poll Daily tracking in January.

But that can't be! I posted every Obama-bashing article I could find. Hmmm. I wonder if posting pro-Clinton articles would have been a better tactic?

Naahhhhhh.

Lessee, going from an 11 point lead a few days ago to a seven point lead today is some kind of advantage?

Confucius say, "Man who chase daily tracking poll find his own tail at end."

Perhaps a more serious equation would intrerest you....

www.electoral-vote.com

perhaps not.

Who are these people that change their mind day to day? I don't get it.

"Lessee, going from an 11 point lead a few days ago to a seven point lead today is some kind of advantage?"

Yes, I would say so if the debate was actually the train wreck you insist it was in thread after thread.

The fact that she can't seem to sustain any kind of lead may well have something to do with her whole campaign, with you right out front, becoming about reasons NOT to vote for Obama rather than reasons TO vote for her. Ultimately, most people don't really care for that, and it shows.

Please 'scuse some of us who find a 50 point lead more likely to mean an actual win than a 6 point lead.

Looks like Obama has rebounded nicely from the "bitter" remarks and the debate. She should get a bump in the polls after tomorrow though.

That one was for 4/19. 4/21 shows Obama with a 15 point lead with 15 tied.

Interesting though is the jump for Clinton on 4/19. On 4/18, she was down 240 to 298. Then polls were down in quite a few states and she was up 289 to 239. That's a 108 switch.

A lot of states switched like OR, MO, WI, OH. WI was tied.

4/18, Obama vs McCain had NY barely GOP.

I question the accuracy of that. When was the last time NY went to Republicans in the general election?

What I don't particularly like about the electoral-vote.com is that is mixes old surveys with new ones. For example, CA was polled 4/16 and TX was 2/28. One and a half months have gone by between the polls. It's hard to get an accurate national picture with such wide variances between the individual state polling dates.

Guess you have to go with what you got though.

There were 160,000 republicans who changed parties and registered as a demo in pennsylvania. Obstensibly to carry out the Limbaugh manipulation. You really have to either be 1)a real mean person, or 2)an idiot to listen to this asshole

Polls are worthless in this election.

"Obstensibly to carry out the Limbaugh manipulation."

Not necessarily so....I know quite a few Republicans who are switchting to vote for Obama because they want Obama. I doubt the Limbaugh thing is much of an issue, I think most of those people are just folks who finally get it.

I love the evidence. "I know quite a few..." HAHA!

A few naive republican friends of Danni does not make "quite a few" on a national or state scale.

Not necessarily so....I know quite a few Republicans who are switchting to vote for Obama because they want Obama. I doubt the Limbaugh thing is much of an issue, I think most of those people are just folks who finally get it.

I tend to agree. I know numerous Republicans who support Obama.

I recall back in 2000 that several Republican pundits made the same accusations against Democrats, claiming they were simply voting for McCain to sabotage the Republican primary. While in reality, every pro-McCain Democrat I knew had every intention of voting for him in the general election.

good for you danni.....you have fallen for it because I disagree although I have no doubt there are republicans who will vote for him.
but since you HAVE NO VOICE in this election thanks to your democrat primary rules, I guess you have to talk about something.

thank you for that ringing endorsement,lip......comments like that from the left are all we need to read to know that everything is right on schedule.

but here is the real point to my post. this number is well and good for the obama mama's but remember ONLY THE REPUBLICANS have an attack machine....dems NEVER EVER do anything like that....and the swift boating will knock the dem down more than a couple of points.

AND....I think with numbers of republicans who voted dem mean that these poll numbers shouldnt be counted on too much when its mccain versus the winner here.

Obstensibly to carry out the Limbaugh manipulation. You really have to either be 1)a real mean person, or 2)an idiot to listen to this asshole

and yet the thousands of dems who voted for mccain in early primaries and put him in the lead that he retained were all 'good americans'......please....

"ONLY THE REPUBLICANS have an attack machine...."

OH, no doubt about that but most Americans have learned from their past mistakes. BLT one thing that will KILL any Republican hope....it's the economy stupid.

Obama's national lead is probably a function of the fact that he's winning the Democratic race. He's a better candidate running a better campaign than Clinton, but the issue divide between these two candidates is microscopic. If you flopped the delegate count and states won for Obama and Clinton, and Obama had not been driven from the race already, I'd expect Clinton to have the national lead.

Guys, you are right, I withdraw my former statement. I actually am one of those former republicans (actually liberatarian with no candidate) who will vote for obama.

I do not believe he will make a good president but then on the other hand I don't believe any off the candidates will, so I may as well vote for the one that is the most fun.

It does not matter, JM will be the next Prez.

Even when the polls are accurate, what is their real value and to whom do they provide the greatest utility?

Apart from the election as horserace entertainment value (which could be argued is of negative value ultimately), I think they are meaningless noise that shouldn't play into anyone's decision when they cast their vote.

I may as well vote for the one that is the most fun.

I was being sarcastic and it says something that your post doesnt seem to think it was sarcastic but the truth......mister soros with his billions and moveon's wont like to hear you ignore them.

so your idea of fun is to raise taxes????

and isnt it comforting to use a statment like this that can in NO WAY be refuted by the left. not when obama himslef talks about the capital gains rate and other taxes.......there is no denying that taxes WILL GO UP.....and then we will hear the obligatory rants from the left about how we all can afford them and that its only the RICH who will be taxed more....

and yet.......as in the capital gains matter....an amazingly high number of people in a NOT RICH level will be affected as if they are on the forbes cover.

ONLY THE REPUBLICANS have an attack machine...."

No stranger than voting for somebody to lose wars. And on borrowed money. Some stupid people actually believe in pay as you go. Like McCane used to, before he got Bushified.
Just remember your history-winning wars and surpluses=Democrats.
Losing wars and deficits=Republicans

Donald R. Diamond, a wealthy Arizona real estate developer, was racing to snap up a stretch of virgin California coast freed by the closing of an Army base a decade ago when he turned to an old friend, Senator John McCain.

A letter from Senator John McCain may have helped Donald R. Diamond, a longtime friend, gain the rights to develop property at a former Army base. Mr. Diamond has raised more than $250,000 so far for Mr. McCain's presidential campaign.
When Mr. Diamond wanted to buy land at the base, Fort Ord, Mr. McCain assigned an aide who set up a meeting at the Pentagon and later stepped in again to help speed up the sale, according to people involved and a deposition Mr. Diamond gave for a related lawsuit. When he appealed to a nearby city for the right to develop other property at the former base, Mr. Diamond submitted Mr. McCain's endorsement as "a close personal friend."

Writing to officials in the city, Seaside, Calif., the senator said, "You will find him as honorable and committed as I have."

Says it all, don't it....

mccain and barrywayne wont be tied at 45 when the public hears more tapes of two of the most ardent barrywayne supporters........ayres and his old lady.
listened to speaches from both in 2001 and just last year and its apparent that both should be thrown in jail for what they did in the 60's.
does this mean that obama is guilty of destroying public and private property? no......but it shows DIRECTLY the type of person who supports this false prophet.
members of the sds are all about obama....and if you are old enough to remember, then you are old enough to know the damage and pain they caused
and you can come back with what someone else did earlier....that its our right to protest and all that and you are so very much correct....but noone has a right to BLOW UP BUILDINGS and such to do it.

and oh yeah his quote from 2001.
"america is the biggest purveyor of terrorism in the entire world"

and we read just why so many here dont think this acquaintence is a problem

because people here believe the SAME LEFTIST GARBAGE>>>>>>>>>>>

andnow its off to cnn and see who they are predicting.......
