Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Since the beginning of McCain's public life, the many witnesses to his temper have had strikingly different reactions to it. Some depict McCain, now the presumptive Republican nominee for president, as an erratic hothead incapable of staying cool in the face of what he views as either disloyalty to him or irrational opposition to his ideas. Others praise a firebrand who is resolute against the forces of greed and gutlessness.

Sorry, its not the question but the answers that drive the issue.
People are'nt stupid,so when a candidate seemingly dodges the question it just fuels the debate.
If the polititions would just learn to answers questions.
Until then,ask away.

No doubt this will be an important issue in the upcoming election. Do you really want a pissed off McBush with his finger on the trigger at three am in the morning?

Yes, yes I do.

well I guess the question is would we rather have another example of the emasculated male which is the goal of many right now. or would we want someone who has the balls to stand up to people. for so long my president didnt answer back to some of the mean and nasty comments from the left. I dont know that mccain would be like that, but I think maybe we could get an answer to this by looking back.
isnt mcain one of the republicans who works with democrats more than most, which isnt a ringing endorsement as far as I am concerned, but if he was such a hotheaded asshole, would that be the case??

Hell no. Let him deal with his PTSD by playing bridge with the trollop/cunt.

Maybe the turrists are waiting for a woman or a wimp to play their next hand.

Maybe you're pissing your pants for no reason.

Coming from a card carrying Chimptard, I'll take that as a compliment.

The last thing this country needs is another hothead dictator.

You should see how McCain calms down when someone flashes the Queen of Hearts at him. Something to do with conditioning. . .

for so long my president didnt answer back to some of the mean and nasty comments from the left

Do I ever love this guy's "my president" thing !

To paraphrase Oliver North "this asshole has never been my president".

NO PROBLEM...Just don`t touch his nerves...he`ll hit you with nuclear bombs.....

This just in, Hillary is a still an untrustworthy bitch and Obama is sill black.

McCain has a temper...wow.

McCain has a temper...wow.'

To me that is a sign of a dangerous man unwilling to concede his errors, but the simple minded 101 is not impressed.

Yo YO.......get it.....

the my president thing is to remark on the more than obvious anti american sentiment on display here daily and to also refer to my screen name as it will be retired soon.
but thank you for making such insightfull remarks on the issue at hand....
oh wait...that was someone else.

and mccain is on with little georgie right now....and george is asking him about it RIGHT NOW.......

I hereby accept his answer to the charge and so as you will all agree, I am sure...if I accept then it must be so......LOL

GayRay's afraid of somebody with a temper...What a pussy.

What shall it be? Hillarylover? Obamalover? McCain lover? Or Alcohol-lover?

GayRay hopes it will be "GayLover2".

GayRay's afraid of somebody with a temper...What a pussy.

You need to get laid, 101. Don't look at me.

And they say McCain is the hot head.....

The sad fact is that all three candidates have egos bigger than their brains. A recipe for another disastrous presidency.

No. And not at 3 am in the afternoon either.

McCain is 5'9".

Can anyone say "short man's syndrome?"

We should add to the constitution that no man under 6' tall should be able to become president. Damaged goods

And "No woman in pants" Furio?

Sitdown,

For Maggie Thatcher I would vote to change the constitution. Regardless of whether you are Left or Right you have to respect her abilities as a prime minister and statesperson.

For your typical American woman though I have severe reservations.

Your predilection for performing McCainalingus makes you an honorary Chimptard.

the godfather of amnesty with a tude

I think the Dems better come up something a tad more intimidating than this.

Better stick with the he's to old message, it'll work with the 18 to 30 crowd but after that it's falling on deaf ears.

Belive it or not, some cultures love/respect the elderly.

None of the 3 are up to the task but McCain will prevail. Again, the lesser of the evils.

"Belive it or not, some cultures love/respect the elderly."

Sure but they always choose younger leaders who are still strong and sharp enough to....lead.

Kris
Lesser of the evils? I don't think so. All three are products of the same political establishment.

What I see is a kind of a triangulation in their rhetoric. If you pay attention, they are saying the same thing in different ways to appeal to different audiences. They are intentionally vague so the votaries can judge the candidates according to what they want to hear.

Whoever wins will continue from where Bush left off. That's the nature of power politics and the history of this country from its inception.

Sure but they always choose younger leaders who are still strong and sharp enough to....lead.

In the wrong direction, of course. Most of history's worst dictators began their careers when they were young and strong.

Most of history's best leaders began their careers when they were young and strong.

Ray, to equate RELATIVE youth with a tendency toward dictatorship is absolutely absurd. The only tenuous connection is that revolutionaries tend to be young.

McBush in the White House would surely return us to the glassy-eyed senility Ronnie Raygun perfected. I'll never forget Helen Caldecott's audience with Ronnie, trying to warn about nuclear hazards. Ronnie sat there with a glazed expression, Caldecott realizing that he heard nothing. When she finished, he said he wanted to read her something. He went to the White House shelf and got down a volume ... of Readers Digest condensations.

But I still think McB will implode and take himself out. herm

DITTO!!!!! and you can put this in the archives as well for use when someone tries to tell you that the media is rightwing instead of leftists lapdogs.
try and tell me that these items arent hidden by the media.....as far as talking about when it comes up about mccain. they wouldnt touch this.
UNTIL barrywaynehussein entered the scene anyway.

This is news?

Anybody who thinks that being a hothead should be a disqualification from being President probably has fond memories of the tranquil Carter Administration.

Personally I don't want a President who isn't tenacious in his beliefs although I have other differences with McCain I have more respect for him then "No Balls" Obama. Hillary has a temper too but her Socialism disqualifies her in my book.

"...we want someone who has the balls to stand up to people."

I suppose that describes the chimp-in-chief to a tee. Does he have anything else going for him? I guess he doesn't cheat on Laura or molest The Twins, but ANYthing to qualify him for the White House? herm

"This just in, Hillary is a still an untrustworthy bitch and Obama is s(t)ill black."

This just in: The Chair is (still?) in rare form. These "attributes" are not exactly documented qualities.

"McCain has a temper...wow."

Well yes. My prediction is that he will implode with an outburst before November, but think of adding THAT irrationality to his senile nap time if he ever gets into office. And 101? Wait for it ... herm

McCain has a temper...wow.

At least he has something constant.
No position on anything other than carrying on the VN war in Iraq. Well, actaully a lot of positions.

On each issue. All new since 2006. Seems his previous 70 years on Earth taught him nothing.

Would be nice if he fessed up to bbqing 130 of his fellow sailors in 1967 as a result of a temper tantrum, but that would be like asking Bush to admit deserting from the TANG. It's all just some lost paperwork.

My prediction is that he will implode with an outburst before November, but think of adding THAT irrationality to his senile nap time if he ever gets into office.

That gives Hillary a better chance at beating him. She can get under his skin without trying.

Since when is having some pizazz necessarily bad? Better that then typical beta male liberal wuss.

I do not like Ms Clinton but must admit that she has more balls than most liberal men I've met over the years.

She's ain't got no balls, but she got plentya gall...

Emasculated male? Anybody got less balls than McBush?
He got ass-raped by Dubya and Rove in 2000 and spent the next 8 years thanking them for the experience. He's now about as maverick as Dick Cheney.
He's flushed whatever integrity he had down the toilet by flip flopping on major issues in order to date the Right, basically saying all his "experience" taught him nothing, except do wahat he's told.

"HOTHEAD" ... more like a DickHead. Dem's can't lose...they've got three candidates in the race.

This could be a problem:

According to aides, McCain's frequent comments about his temperament reflect a recognition that the issue persists for some voters and the media. At times he expresses regret about his temper, often tracing it to the same resentments that ignited him as a boy: "In all candor, as an adult I've been known to forget occasionally the discretion expected of a person of my many years and station when I believe I've been accorded a lack of respect I did not deserve," he said at Episcopal.

So could this:

"Temper can sometimes be a political instrument," said James A. Thurber, director of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University. "There are sometimes calculated displays of temper, which is what Lyndon Johnson used to persuade people. . . .

"But sometimes somebody's temperament can get in the way of aides telling him the truth, which happened [during the Vietnam War] with LBJ. His temper scared some [aides] away, which was not good for anyone. . . . That's always part of the risk with a strong temper . . . and so it's always relevant."

It's just a political distraction.
