I'm curious of what his thoughts were pre-Nazi invasion. Was he the typical French wine drinker that didn't wanna get involved?...Was he pro-defense and saw through the failed politics of apathy that dominated his world at that time? Was he openly, and loudly critical of any move to prepare for his country's defense? Did he continue to turn his head from the repeated treaty violations by the Nazis?....or, was he a leading voice in French patriotism and opposed to their failed leadership that, like Chamberlain, were ultimately responsible for the deaths and loss of country that resulted?
