Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Monday, April 14, 2008

Singer Alicia Keys claimed in a magazine interview that gangsta rap is a racial conspiracy. "Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other," she said. "'Gangsta rap' didn't exist." Keys, 27, wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead," according to Blender magazine.

alicia, you're so talented.
and i agree with most of your thoughts concerning the plights of african americans, but this quote is ludicrous.

Jesus Christ, what the hell - just can't win versus victim mentality....

lame.

gangsta rap exists because it's what people of no taste require. if it wasn't that, it'd be something else.

YEAH!

Truth is the Blacks Asked for it Just like Women Ask to be Raped and Murdered!

Sincerely

nanc (AKA Butch)

Complete nonsense ... she's obviously oblivious to how it all came about and who had all to do with promoting it.

Just ask Eric B and Rakim ...

Blacks invented Gangsta Rap. Why do blacks hate blacks?

this one is just a "WOW" moment

I thought the motivation was the same for all rap "musicians." Free dope and a long line of pussy.

Silly me...

Another Obama voter heard from.

Reparations NOW!

This looks like the kind of crap Nancyboy or Walt would write!

Rap Music is to Blacks as Contry Music is to Rednecks and Southern folks. It's a way to tell the story of their lives through music.

Larry Mohr

Incredible!!!!

It is the Truth. Gangster Rap was invented by Easzy E who was a member of the Free Masons. In truth, he is a decendant of Thomas Jefferson and was given the funds to start NWA.

I'm not black. But if I were, I'd be ashamed of the people throughout my community who continued to perpetuate the "everyone is after us" mentality. From their churches (whites invented AIDS) to their op-ed columnists (violence apologists), to apparently their grammy winning singers, the conspiratorial whining knows no bounds. It's a shame that blacks who have been strong enough to see past such self-defeating bullshit aren't as outspoken as the whiners.

These evil white people forcing a microphone into these artists (spit) hands and then making the hood pay to listen to it must be stopped.

Vote Obama

We won't burden you with a baby just becaue you've made a mistake.

God Damn America!

"strength, power and killing 'em dead"

Sounds like a Wright sermon from way back, with a young Obama in the pews nodding his head, unaware that the remarks will affect his future presidential aspirations.

Gangsta rap isn't even music-more like some obscene tribal chanting, if you ask me. I absolutely despise that crap-

A someone once said: It is better to remian silent and be thought ignorant, then to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

Unbelieveable.

I thought the negros invented it. Go figure.

I hope her necklace goes off and accidentally removes her head.

Same guy who invented AIDS, and sickle cell anemia, you know.

Aggie - you forgot the Krystal and the Bentleys...

Also - gangsta rap doesn't seem to have hurt Jay-Z too much: he married Beyonce and is signing a $150 million contract with LiveNation.

That definitely explains why political rap (Public Enemy, KRS-1, Afrika Bambaata etc.) is basically dead because of lack of sales...

Today's "hip hop" demographic likes to hear about killing people more than uplifting themselves. I guess it's harder to make something of yourself than it is to pick up a gun and people are inherently lazy.

I just saw Public Enemy on their last tour and they are better than they've ever been... Funny because the show was about half black in their 30-40's and half white in the same age range. Chuck D's message is still as valid and important now as it was in 1987. It's too bad nobody's listening that are under 35.

Rap used to bring people of all colors together... That was it's appeal. It helped everyone understand each other. Now it just pushes people apart.

What's more amazing is that KRS, Chuck D and public enemy didn't sugar coat it. They told the ugly truth and advised people to move on and better themselves. They were a totally positive influence. KRS told stories that rarely had a happy end of people trying to be gangsters.

When KRS' dj got killed by a rival, "gansta rap" hadn't been invented yet. Explain that one.

Now it's all about gettin' your gat to kill a mf because he's trying to take over your block, or counting stacks. I'm a huge rap fan. My first record was Sugar Hill Gang... but the stuff that's being put out today is complete and utter garbage for the most part. It's almost all exactly the same. There were drug gangs back when PE and KRS were on top of things. They chose to speak out and tell people there is another way.

There is a hell of a lot more to black culture than killing rival drug dealers and counting your stacks. Where's the rest of it these days?

Cue the Bill Cosby quote.

you forgot cop killin' ozarkaggie!

you cannot be serious, larry?

Nanc I am serious. I wouldn't have typed it if I wasn't.

Larry Mohr

I remember my mandatory Black History course in college taught us that blacks were brought into cities as a way to unite the European immigrants against a common enemy...which is supposed to explain why most blacks still live clumped together in inner city ghettos. You know, its all just a conspiracy perpetrated by the white man.

More of the same.

"gangsta rap exists because it's what people of no taste require. if it wasn't that, it'd be something else.

What's this opinion based on, Nanc? It surprises me that you have any direct knowledge of this type of music. Who have you listened to, and what did you not like about it? I'm sure you are not just bloviating on something you know nothing about, right?

Larry, I think you're confusing rap with the blues.

No Briwo not confusing rap with the blues.

Larry Mohr

She's been hanging out with Kanye too much. Did she say who actually created rap for this purpose? I'm off to read the article because I just have to know who she blames for this.

But why talk about something so ugly when there is beauty like this in the world?

Okayyyyyyyyyy..... Since she didn't cite any people or institution in being responsible for her believing that, I have to assume she meant the white government. I've heard some crazy conspiracy theories but this one rates well up the list.

Please expound.

Well she states she's "read a couple of books", but given her bizaare statements, it would seem she took away the wrong message. Perhaps she read the books without any frame of historical reference or perspective.

The whole "gangsta" image came about because the African American community tends to be socioeconomically poor. Many poor black kids look at their neighborhoods and believe that it is their destiny and reality. Being poor doesn't offer you a whole lot of power, so these kids join gangs because power can be found in numbers and in aggressive behavior. So this whole mentality of being "gangsta" is glorified, to an extent, with the black community, as well as to the hispanic community. It also happened to the early Irish immigrants, and later, the early Italian immigrants when these groups started off poor and powerless in this country.

What is interesting about gangsta rap, however, is that it is now marketed and sold to more middle class white boys than it is to black kids.

Bri,

OK.

Your take was WAY different than what I interpretted.

It's to be expected though. I am a SNAG - Sensitive New-Age Guy, but I am NOT a cock-gazer; like you. I saw latent homo-tendencies in your last post....

To each their own, Larry. I'm not a fan, but I have to admit to liking Busta Rhymes, Bone Thugs and Harmony, and Outkast. They have all tried to push the genre in a different direction, which I don't think enough rap/hip-hop artists try to do.

montecore - i grew up in a household with musicians of every color - one of my great uncles played with the greatest men of color - they'd all be spinning in their graves at what their "brothers" are calling "music" these days.

please don't pretend to know me.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Nanc.

I'm not pretending to know you, but nothing you just typed provides any basis for your opinion. I asked who you've listed to, and what you didn't like about it, not about your greatest uncle.

Or Beer Holder. Beer helping ugly people get Laid since 1645

Larry Mohr

Upwards of 70-80% of gangsta rap bought by white kids... Proof of a conspiracy!

I don't like rap, but to claim that anybody who listens to it is completely tasteless is pure egocentrism. I said this once today on another thread, but I'll say it again. Culture is relative. Something that I understand might not be understood to somebody not living in my cultural, or even sub-cultural circle, which includes ethnicity as well as generation. There was a time when people thought of the jazz the way people presently think of rap.

"Or Beer Holder" -Larry

Fair enough. Beer goggles tend to skew one's perception of beauty...often leading to some scary morning-afters...

it's just pure noise.

a multibillion dollar noise business. no talent needed, just anger and ugly words - people buy it - i'm not denying that. i've never heard a decent rap song.

Shit, this stuff is old as dirt!

If I send for my baby and she don't come
If I send for my baby, man and she don't come
All the doctors in West Memphis,
Sure can't help her none.

And if she gets unruly, thinks she don' wanna do it
And if she gets unruly, thinks she don' wanna do it
I'll take my 32-20 now
And cut her half in two.

She's got a 38 special I believe it's most too lite
She's got a 38 special I believe it's most too lite

Of course, he actually had musical talent.

Bottom line is this----Its a shit sandwitch..no matter how it viewed..

Bass how low can you go. Deathrow what a brotha knows. Once again back is the incredible, indellible, incredible. D, Public Enemy number 1, 5-0 said freez but I got none.

This song is considered a classic for reasons I don't know. 99.9% of rap is crap. Record companies love rap because most rap CDs are so cheap to make. Suburban white kids love rap because they can pretend to be bad while going home to their two parent, two car garage house every night. Russell Simmons loves rap because he now lives in Saddle River, Nj in a 10,000 square foot house.

YOu got to admit there are a few good rap songs but then the producer that wrote it will have 10 other rappers put out a song with the same beat and different lyrics. Rap is Crap................

That's right TIMBCI, you can't spell CRap without Rap.

"it's just pure noise." -Nanc

Which is exactly what some people said about Jazz back in the 20s. Same with the Beatles and other groups when Rock music was young. Hell...some people said that Johann Sebastian Bach's music was aweful back when people thought music outside of a Gregorian Chant was immoral. There is traditional music made in countries in Africa that would sound like noise to you and I, but that is beautiful and important to them. Likewise, when they listen to the music you or I enjoy they don't understand it. It's culturally relative.

Falicy...Black on Black crime was #1 killer of blacks even before this rap crap! What's more dangerous is that it's apparently an accurate indicator of how the average black kid thinks...oh yea, and a few wanna be's. It advocates violence, devalues women (who apparently like it that way), is anti-government, and especially hates whitey.

JeffJ: It's all good Nigga!

Actually, alot of the "gangsta" lifestyle is a blend of street and prison culture.
Of course, Madison Ave, knowing which side of the bred is buttered, saw an incredible opportunity once thet realized that young white kids(with money)we're buying into it.

Fuck, type much?

Just another brainless entertainer talking big, but can't do shit except sabotage her own cause with paranoia and stupidity

proof that there is an economic/racial divide in the blogosphere:

a great deal of you came on here and discussed the lack of artistic merit in gangster rap.

this post is not about that.

You're right Floater...Alicia was quite hopped up on something, or she's just always stupid....probally both. I'd love to hop up on her, wouldn't you?

I came to the conclusion Gangster Rap was crap after I heard "Tap the Bottle and Twist the Cap".

Alicia Keyes would be working at Scores if she was not discovered by that horny old guy from Atlantic Records. She would make a lot of moey in the Champagne Room

Most of them do come across as lap dancers...adult entertainment...however, this is the entertainment many daughters love and support.

If you dont think rap music is controlled then you probobly dont think that the drug supply was pumped up to keep hippies in check either.

If you dont think rap music is controlled then you probobly dont think the main stream media controls what you see on major news networks.

OF course rap music is controlled by those who want to want to decide what the youth are brought up on. the learned their lessons from rock activists like john lennon and CSNY who made huge political in roads with thier message of conscience and peace and revolution against the evils of govt and war.

chuck D and KRS one - yeah their message was having a very popular effect on black pride in the 80s, bout when the g thang started to take off.

Im not going to say that NWA was a govt prop, but the message worked better for a govt that would rather stick a liquor store and pawn/credit shop in hoods rather then community centers.

The easiest way to dumb down the youth is to feed them mush. have you listened to most rap in the last 15 years? Its mindless mush. nonsense about the same moronic cliches, lacking real social awareness of its predecessors, and a lack of original thought sits fine with the men who own MTV! MTV1 MTVJams and so on. Who are the role models now? Puff daddy and Jay Z?

nothing like..

I got a letter from the government, the other day / I opened and read it, it said they were suckers / they wanted me for their army or whatever

Keys speaks the truth, and as usual most people cant stomach it.

This is why racism and other feeling exist between Blacks and Whites. Stupid people in influential positions making stupid comments that people will actually believe and think true.

thus creating further rift in our society.

These morons have a right to their opinion, however, they need to be held accountable for stupidity...

Has Keys been going to Rev Wright's church?
Or did she borrow the tapes from Obama?

I truly hope Obama is smart enough to distance himself from Rev "I'm a Moron" Wright.

Obama has some good thoughts and is a very articulate speaker. However, i am not sure he has enough experience to run the country.

Maybe if he sat in a hire position for a couple more years. The country does need younger blood and inspirational ideas, They will NOT get either from Johnny boy or Hillary...

Not sure there is a good candidate running this time...

FF Repugnant -- great parody of a street person wearing a tinfoil hat. Excellent!

"If you dont think rap music is controlled then you probobly dont think that the drug supply was pumped up to keep hippies in check either."

Controlled?
Yeah it's controlled by Black entrepreneurs who wanted to make money like everyone else.
There's nothing nefarious about gangsta rap and to ascribe some sort of conspiracy to it is just inane.

"If you dont think rap music is controlled then you probobly dont think the main stream media controls what you see on major news networks."

You haven't a clue what you're talking about nor does Keys ...

And don't even try to convince me otherwise since I know all the players ... Chuck's a close friend, the Bomb squad guys , Eric, Keith and Hank are all friends for decades.

And I agree its all mush now but that's only because people have a formula and it works and they will keep milking it until it stops working and they will move on to the next thing. It's no different then it's always been for popular music.

I'm no fan of rap/hip-hop, but it is kinda funny sittin' here listening to (ok, reading) a bunch honkeys offering their opinions on hip-hop culture.

ding ding ding. dave's on point.

I'd say we were offering our observations of the gangsta rap lifestyle.

"I'd say we were offering our observations of the gangsta rap lifestyle."

(in my best
Red State Up Date accent)

Yeah, an' I bet yew got long hair an' a funny hat, too, dontchee?

Drugs weren't pumped up to control hippies. The hippy lifestyle increased the demand for drugs, which increased the supply.

And news media isn't controlled either. Yes, they control what we see, and in an indirect way the government controls what they allow to be leaked out to the media, but the media is run by private organizations whose interests are focused on money, not population control. They pump out crap because it makes people watch it. Back in the early days of news the media was a lot better because they had less competition. When you only have 5 channels there's a pretty good chance that the only thing on to watch is news. When you have 300 channels to choose from you have to make the news entertaining to get people to watch. The result is overexaggerated news and a focus on strong opinionated assholes like Bill O'Reilley, because people watch it. When people watch it they make money.

yeah the're real political

Posted by shirtsbyeric

I'm curious as to who said rappers were political. I couldn't find it when I scanned. I say this because I happen to love rap and hip-hop but an extremely low percentage of them could ever be called seriously political.

The most polictical most of them ever get is by telling Bush or Cheney or Tipper Gore to fuck off. Kanye West amazed us all by saying Bush hated black people. Yeah, that's real political. Rappers, especially gangster rappers are the furthest thing from political. And now we get to add Keys to the list.

Well you all can speak for yourselves but I was right there watching it all happen in front of my face and a part of it

I know it firsthand and I know many of the people in it and still do.

First it was wannabe rap kids watching images on MTV of rap acts they looked up to in vids of fancy cars, girls and guns and five years later the next crop of wannabe rap kids coming into my studio to make records were playing with real guns. Maybe that's because they now had fancy cars parked outside of their own and were indeed making shitloads of money.

The genre was selling and making money and no one had to control anything to understand what all that means.

In the record biz, the rule is you can never have too much of something that sells until it doesn't sell anymore.

That's it ... no more, no less. If it makes money, lets do it.

As for Chuck D and PE - Chuck was and is an incredibly responsible person and really a good guy.
Someone I'm very happy to have met.

He's the antithesis of this other genre of gangsta crap but gangsta crap sells so people make it.

Wrong or right, if something sells, people will make it. This is after all, America isn't it?

So where's the evidence backing up this Gangsta Rap conspiracy to destroy African Americans?

Keys speaks the truth

No she doesnt, she is an idiot. Talented, but stupid.

So where's the evidence backing up this Gangsta Rap conspiracy to destroy African Americans?

There isnt any. Keys is young and thinks she knows everything. She is young and dumb. Another example of entertainer's needing to do their art instead of trying to speak logically. I rate her intellictually with Tom Cruise and Jane Fonda and Danny Glover. Idiots.

The days of good rap music are long gone. There will never be the likes of Slick Rick, Eric B and Rakim, and the Roxanne Series (showing my age here).

This gangsta rap thing is about perceived respect coming from violence.

"There will never be the likes of Slick Rick, Eric B and Rakim, and the Roxanne Series (showing my age here).

Posted by boaz at 2008-04-14 07:57 PM"

Are you serious? I've been listening to rap since Sugar Hill Gang in the 70's, and I think those performers, and that style, is some of the worst.

Imagine if Johnny Mathis was an up and coming
singer. We would never hear classics like "Chances are", or "When Sunny gets Blue.

Instead, we'd get 'Mad Dog' Mathis classics such as
"Chances Be" and 'Lil Sunny gets capped in da ass".

The American negro culture has really evolved
thanks to the conspirators.

So Alicia joins other black performer like Chris Rock or Dave Chappel, who decided to blame everything on whitey! How Original! The difference from Alicia of course being that Rock and Chappel have made a very lucrative career out of "dissing" the white man! But imagine how clever the government is to foist Rap Music on the black population but more amazing the government also "influenced" blacks to really lap it up and buy millions and millions of these "Same Old B.S." Rap cd's!

Don't underestimate how many o' dem what wa' be CD's was bought by cute little white ho's & cracka boys, and da mommas too! Shiit.

Stupidity in the Key of Alicia!

Wow, when Spud first read the headline Spud thought that Alan Keyes made this assinine statement. To say that Gansta Rap can arguably be seen as destructive to black culture is one thing but to say that it was invented to hurt blacks is pure bullshit.

Rap started as a competition of wits and wills. Like streetcorner doo-wop in a way. Bored, out-of-work kids mostly, on stoops would rap or slang bang their opponents with insults that rhymed. Eventually itr went from Yer Momma jokjes to more sophisticated materials. Human beatboxews and the like added percussive effect. From that humble street beginning modern rap began to emerge from the inner city culture that was being totally ignored by Mainstream culture (Elvis Presley sing 'In The Ghetto, notwithstanding).

Early classics like the Sugarhills gang were more dance oriented but the real rap, the most important shit, had to deal with issues of social justice, inequality and prevelant racism, poverty and crime.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five singing "The Message" fer instance.

Nowadays most rappers are fucking pussies who rap about the safest and most inane topics and still think they are being dangerous instead of lapdog biatches to the white music biz which has co-opted them.

Be Well.

Niggaz ain't good for shit for me
'Cause as a race ya second class

Fucking wit Dre, you can't afford to be an asshole
It's just another way to let you know
Niggaz send them, niggaz send them, niggaz send them
Punk can't fuck wit me
Real muthafuking G (Got that)
Straight from the streets of the CPT
Telling you why real niggaz don't die

(Chorus)
I just want to celebrate (2X)

(MC Ren)

Real niggaz don't die 'cause they eventually multiply
The niggaz are wit it but taking out on I
Because the times are so wrong, got to stay so strong
Niggaz got to keep going on and on
And don't let no pale face, they throw your ass in a cell race
Have you resident suck a pie in a jail space
That's what they want to do 'cause the system is fucked around
I try to let you know with the record that's underground

They don't give a fuck about a nigga
They would rather pull the trigger
And have you running from barrels smiling saying geez
So niggaz get smart and rebel back
I'm not wit that black just so I'm not gonna nail that
All I see is niggaz getting harrass
We can't do nothing about it but get a foot in they ass
Yo, but a very nigga grabbed a nine
And started shooting muthafuckers, it would put them in line
And that's how it's suppose to be
When the pussy ass niggas try to fuk wit me
Yo because the shoes let the dry
To kill a nigga cause nigga a muthafucking real nigga don't die

Chorus

I'm a muthafucking nigga wit an attitude

(Eazy-E)

Oh let the good die young, so they make me young and bad
Putting ass kickings on the niggaz that never had
So I guess that makes me tough shit
Straight up gangsta, bum nigga to fuk wit
So how can a nigga die when he's causing the bloodshed
By shooting muthafukas in the head
Trying to make a nigga extinct because they fear me
But never want to hear me
So I'm a let 'em know how a nigga's living
Checking for muthafukas cause nobody ain't giving a damn thing
To a nigga, a real nigga
So I'm living by the muthafucking trigger
Cause a nigga ain't afraid of being locked up
I'm out of luck, so why should I give a fuck
But they still want to try
To kill a nigga like me but muthafucking real niggaz don't die

Don't you mean you just don't like rap, period? Nanc, you're carrying on like your taste is what all's taste should be.

I love it when some jackass on high proclaims superiority re: something as subjective as taste in music.

BTW, I don't care for rap, and all country sucks. Seriously, country music sucks ass, and so do you for liking it.

i never said i liked country. personally, i'm into a little stevie ray and the grateful dead, with some southern gospel mixed in for good measure. jazz and blues are also a must. and i DO love outlaw country for sure.

rap is garbage. people pay big bucks for garbage these days and then complain about how they don't know why their kids listen to it - HELLO! you're paying for it!

It sounds as if the blacks are projecting their own hatred of whites onto whites and fantasize that whites want to do to blacks, what some of these angry blacks actually want to do to whites.

It provides "justification" for black hatred. Blacks can't seem to accept their own failures as attributable to their own limitations and behavior.

Obama has now promised to restore the failed "Great Society" programs of Lyndon Johnson so as to "help the poor." Is he here catering with particularity to his own preferred constituency, black people. rahter than as a portended president of "all Americans?" Maybe it would be better to start by reducing the 80% black illegitimacy rate, which grew as the welfare programs made black men superfluous people, and angry and hateful of the black women who discarded them. It's in the music.

Of course, Ms Keyes is an ignoramus, so the attention paid to the musings of an ignoramus is more remarkable than the fact that she issued a baseless statement.

The black condition. Remember "Frankie and Johnnie were lovers/Oh lordy how they could love." Different lyrics. Different presentation. But inward directed rather than outward directed. Blacks today, seem to live in a hostile world of their own making as their hate infests them and is reflected in their "art."

Nanc, I'm w/you on S Ray, ok on some of the Dead, but you can keep your Southern gospel (I'll take Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - Black Crowes).

Alls I'm sayin' is, taste is subjective. You're gettin older. Hell, we're all gettin older. Rap's not your thing. Doesn't mean it doesn't hold merit w/today's kids (as dumb as they are).

Blacks can't seem to accept their own failures as attributable to their own limitations and behavior. - Johnson

As individuals or as a race? Just curious...

There's no detail with Johnson. It's all whitewash.

See? There we go again. Democrats can't explain why something happened so what do they do?

They always claim its a conspiracy. Of course!

Don't leave out that the Gov used aids to get rid of blacks too.

And after that, don't leave out Communists, led by Sanger, started Planned Parenthood to rid the world of blacks.

Wait, that last one was a fact, nevermind.

Vote democrat, it makes you smarter.

Kuma

So-called African-Anericans need no help destroying each other, they are doing a great job on their own. Their mind made manacles keep them in perpetual slavery.

Alicia Keys is beautiful and talented, and up until this comment, seemed intelligent.

What an irresponsible, asinine cop-out.

She wears a golden AK47 on her neck to symbolize strength...

This is the type of comment we'll see more and more of if Obama is running well in National Polls for the general. The thing is, this will alienate a lot of people and he'll have to give another "Speech".

I mean after he locks up the Dem bid, he can start pandering to the other 86% of the population....

Then the 14% will each their own claiming he's not black enough. This will bring up more talk of higher taxes, more social programs and maybe even reparations....

Alicia Keyes is just trying to prove she is Black. She is "keeping it real". She is "representing". LOL

Is she had brains she would shut her trap so all the white kids in suburbia keeping buying her cds.

Everyone knows that the Eazy E met Ronald Reagan in the early 1980's at a United Way Charity auction at the Hollywood Bowl. Eazy E was the third cousin of Donald Regan . NWA was funded by the Federal Gov't. As a matter of fact NWA received most of the funds that were supposed to go to the Contras. Just ask Dr. Dre.

Actually the Reparations issue is already out there. Obama supported a woman that ran in chigago that has Slave Reparations as a major part of her platform to appeal to the black voters in her district

MTV determines what most kids listen to.

Viacom owns MTV

Viacom's board is made up of guys like William Cohen - CFR

Vincent Erazo - a previous director of the Halliburton

Joseph Califano, Jr - CFR

You may think these guys have no agenda for MTV and the forming minds that watch its content, but I say Reality TV was a gift to these program controllers. Now they can cheaply and quickly make all kinds of pointless mindless content for our youth to digest.

No Education - no real artistic value - mindnumbing of America.

I think MTV is the greatest thing to hit TV since 60 Minutes. I especially like their "liberal talking points" that they try to play off as hard news. MTV is like Girls Gone Wild on crank

Back to the Gangstas....it's like gun control. Guns don't kill people, people do.

Rap don't kill blacks...other blacks do.

Wait, you said "Rap don't kill blacks...other blacks do"

This is not really true. You should have said:

"Rap don't kill blacks, illegal immigrant gang bangers do"

Thats more of a truth.

steaminpile - i have teenagers in the house who wouldn't listen to that steaminpile-o-garbage!

yes, i'm getting older, but i've been to more concerts of more genres than most people half my age.

(c)rap stinks!

it's made for a lower lack of mentality and hopefully, that slackness sticks with it or it's going down.

I wonder if that is true. Even before this story came out, I was wondering if Hollywood made black women act and look worse than they are, black men don't want them.

Black men want white women, afterall white women are on the top rung, it is a giant step up.

Whats wrong with rap hurting blacks?

As a matter of fact I think that all blacks should thank white america for a chance at prosperity, which they never would have had in the likes of western africa.

To the blacks I say...

Your welcome...

I thought Gangsta Rap was invented to give suburban white boys some culture?

The most political rap song I can think of right now.

The boogies monster of rap,
Yeah the man's back
With a plan to ambush this Bush administration,
Mush the Senate's face in and push this generation,
Of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like,
This white hot light,
That I'm under,
No wonder,
I look so sunburnt,
Oh no,
I won't leave no stone unturned,
Oh no I won't leave,
Won't go nowhere,
Do-si-do,
Oh, yo, ho, hello there
Oh yeah don't think I won't go there,
Go to Beirut and do a show there
Yeah you laugh till your motherfuckin' ass gets drafted,
While you're at band camp thinkin' the crap can't happen,
Till you fuck around,
Get an anthrax napkin,
Inside a package wrapped in saran Wrap wrapping,
Open the plastic and then you stand back gasping,
Fuckin' assassins hijackin' Amtracks crashing,
All this terror America demands action,
Next thing you know you've got Uncle Sam's ass askin'
To join the army or what you'll do for the Navy.
You just a baby,
Gettin' recruited at eighteen,
You're on a plane now,
Eating their food and their baked beans.
I'm 28,
They gonna take you 'fore they take me
Crazy insane or insane crazy?
When I say Hussein you say Shady,
My views ain't changed still Inhumane,
Wait,
Arraigned two days late,
The date's today,
Hang me!

Why is this nonsensical thread still even up ?

Get this off already.

The topic isn't nonsensical. The posts may be but the subject manner is not. Then again, almost every single thread that hits this board ends up in an insult match. Either that or unfunny people try to outdeul each other in a contest over the dumbest remark or joke.

In other words, this whole place is nonsensical more often than not.

In case it stays up I think I'll see if I can turn it around.

The following remark is not a broad brush stroke over the entire black race. It is directed at some in the black community of America.

Keys remarks show a side of the black culture that should be more openly discussed and preferrably defeated. Some in the black community are brought up and taught to not ever trust the white man. They are taught that they are victims and that there are all sorts of conspiracies created by the white government in order to keep them down, make them ill, or even kill them. This is why we see so much of the victim mentality today and that thought process is enhanced by the democrats in power in America.

If a person is raised under this falsehood we end up with comments and beliefs just like the ones Keys revealed thru this article. It is pretty obvious what sort of conversations took place around her dinner table when she was a kid. Not all dinner time talks, of course, but certainly some.

that's subject 'matter'. Been a busy day...
