"I will now refer to Iraq as the 'Noose Around My Neck!'"

- John 'Crash & Burn' McCain

'Republican presidential candidate John McCain says the United States is "no longer staring into the abyss of defeat" in Iraq..."

It is hard to stare into an abyss when one is in the midst of falling into it, full speed, with arms flailing...

the dems will tell you they will withdraw.. they wont if elected. psyche..

KGB,

You're mostly right, except the part about flailing arms. McBush would have to have the self awareness to realize that he's falling. He's sure everything is just peachy and that the rapid approach of the ground is normal.

"Iraq No Longer 'Abyss of Defeat'"
It is now referred to as a "puddle of despair".

I think it could accurately be renamed the Moneypit.

I recommend all you naysayers carry your backsides over to Iraq and see first hand. Oh I forgot you are spineless cowards who know nothing about Iraq other than the lies the Democrats and the liberal mainstream media tell you. How does it feel to be led around by your nose and have no idea how to think for yourselves?

"the abyss of defeat" Who writes this shit?

Ozark_Sunshine: How about you go there? I'll give you the airfare.

"You're mostly right, except the part about flailing arms. McBush would have to have the self awareness to realize that he's falling. He's sure everything is just peachy and that the rapid approach of the ground is normal"

There is no ground to approach. If there was we could at least have the comfort of someday hitting bottom and having it all end.

No, this fall will continue unabated for a long long long long time, at least until someday when enough Americans wake up and consider that a slowly leaking vessel is worthless- that one can only resume its fullest capacity by smashing it to bits and then fashioning another new one in its place...

I'm a pilot, and when someone asks me, "How do you like landing?" I sometimes say to them, "Its not landing, its controlled crashing."

Welcome Sunshine and congratulations on your very first post here on the DR.

"How does it feel to be led around by your nose and have no idea how to think for yourselves?"

Why don't you get back to us on that as soon as George W. Bush let's go of your ring?

**** How does it feel to be led around by your nose and have no idea how to think for yourselves?...

...........go ahead......tell us........

About to ask why Ozark Aggie stepped out of character, I now find TWO Ozarkers able to write.

This literacy doesn't necessarily validate any content in Sunshine's burbling. "You go over and see for yourself" is a short step from "love it or leave it."

"Cowards," "naysayers," "Demo lies" and "spineless media" do sound suspiciously like earlier DR posters. Anyone been suspended lately? herm

I havent been there but a friend of mine has who works for kbwhatschamacallit.
and a year ago he called it what you on the left do now....a hopeless quagmire.
he is home now for 6 weeks and he said JUST THIS PAST WEEKEND that there is an end in sight but it still requires more effort from the iraqis themselves, that they still are scared shitless of doing too much because of terrorists bombing and such.....he then adds everyday it seems that they are taking more control for themselves and he said that it now seems doable.
and I know many of you will call me a liar and other of your 'pet names' for me and I give about as much now as I ever did what you call me or this effort. it simply doesnt matter. I listen to someone who has been there and is going back.

McCain: Iraq No Longer 'Abyss of Defeat'

Yeah, now it's a "Black Hole of Sucess."

Mr. McCain, need not worry for support the Presidents mouthpiece, General Betrayus will probably testify in Congress tomorrow that everything is going just swell.....

Since when did the Military become an Arm of the Republician Party???? General Betrayus may as well just come home an run as the Repubs VP along with McCain, what a fucking Disgrace. Ike was Right!!!!

A friend of a friend of a friend of BLT says it's "doable." Let's just declare a famous victory then, and get the hell out. herm

and you, as has been the case lately, show disrespect for the head of the armed forces in a war zone and then sometime soon, I am sure you will scream when someone accuses you of not supporting the troops. you cant have it both ways.
and let me ask you. if one of the dems is elected, how long will it be before they start leaving iraq? in your best guess.

McTainted thinks Iraq is going swimmingly???
Why didn't he just re-enlist and instead of flying missions over the country-get into the Marines-and actually fight on the ground? McLame-go babck to yer rockin' chair dude-the only war experience you have is as a POW in 'Nam-give it up-it tain't worth your soul.

Debouchacrats-BRAAAAWK!
Demoncraps-BRAAAWK!

WWWAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Daddy wants his war!
Somebody call a CONservative WAAAAAHHHHHMMMMbulance fer the dude-before he has a complete breakdown.....

if one of the dems is elected, how long will it be before they start leaving iraq? in your best guess.

As soon as the DNC determines they have a sizable enough lead in the House and Senate...not a second sooner.

he said JUST THIS PAST WEEKEND that there is an end in sight

Yeah, it's right around the next corner, through the tunnel and a last throe or two. Status quo of the WH Bullshit since 2003. For a mole, BLT, you sure get fed like a mushroom.

It is nice to see Bush working side by side with the Iranian mad ayatollahs to secure their control of Iraq, though. So Reaganesque.

I'm assuming BLT, your "friend" leaves his armored vehicle, puts down his gun and goes shopping outside the Green Zone, right? maybe strolls along with general Petrock, eating ice-cream in Sadr City? When's he going to tell you he's seen Saddam's WMD and pics of Saddam and Osama?

You are a simple soul, aren't you?

Tell ya wot-sunshine-have YOU been there? Or are YOU just repeating all the reich-wing lies you've been swallowing?
Tell me...does the jizz make it go down easier?

Senility runs deep with McBushSuckUp ehhhhhhh why am I NOT surprised.

Larry Mohr

I recommend all you naysayers carry your backsides over to Iraq and see first hand

Next time Bush goes and doesn't have to sneak in under the cover of darkness, betwee mortar attacks, we'll all go along.

Straits of PTSD?

"So Reaganesque"

Ain't that a fact....only thing is-raygunz had the perfect excuse-his brain was being devoured by Alzheimers...I wonder what "excuse" dumbass is gonna try to use?

wonder what "excuse" dumbass is gonna try to use?

Bush has the cocaine and booze abuse and McBush has the senility.

You are a simple soul, aren't you?

yes...I am ..but I know enough to listen to someone who is there instead of knuckleheads like you and liberals and thier lapdog media.

and just look...the 'simple soul' has some information and following that from the smartest people in the world???
nothing but lame excuses for humor and insults and putdowns all of which tell me that I am RIGHT ON TRACK.

I recommend all you naysayers carry your backsides over to Iraq and see first hand. Oh I forgot you are spineless cowards who know nothing about Iraq other than the lies the Democrats and the liberal mainstream media tell you. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

McCain knows the abyss of defeat and it's name is Obama.

FrankFreak(tm), call that ambulance right now, you've needed it for a long time. Off to the funny farm with you again.

"and you, as has been the case lately, show disrespect for the head of the armed forces in a war zone and then sometime soon, I am sure you will scream when someone accuses you of not supporting the troops. you cant have it both ways. and let me ask you. if one of the dems is elected, how long will it be before they start leaving iraq? in your best guess."

Okay, BLT: 1. How can anyone NOT show disrespect for the head of the armed forces, if that head (using the term loosely) is George W.? 2. You do understand, I hope, that the only possible support for the troops today is to bring them home at once. 3. The time it takes for withdrawal under a Dem majority depends on the size of that majority. Is it veto-proof? I am painfully aware that we could already have ended funding Bush's war, but that would have multiplied the BLTs of the world screaming "whimp," pussy and traitor. herm

"No longer staring into the abyss of defeat"

Wow, how many ways can you say "turning the corner"?

or "last throes"?

or "not safe but safer"?

or "A few dead enders"?

At least Johnny Boyo gots hisself some new writers.

Iraq is a open sewer pipe and the shit just keeps adding up just like the cost.

Even if Iraq became a US friendly puppet state right this very second, the money and lives wasted could not be said to be worth it.

And the Happy Puppet State thing is just a figment of BushCo's mad imagination.

Iraq is slowly devolving into Palestine North.

America is becoming the New Israel who've become increasingly Nazi-esque in their ways of dealing with the Palestinians.

All in all there is simply no way in hell Iraq can or will ever be a success.

McCain is just another war-mongering shill for the MIC and America can't afford another four years of this War Eternal (TM) MADNESS.

Do. Not. Want.

Can. Not. Afford.

Be Well.

You have to expect the Bushites espousing Drizzling Shits from their bloviating excretamentals. They lack the courage to admit the truth. Sad sacks one and all.

It is now referred to as a "puddle of despair".

The puddle of piddle, which used to be little, is rising around you.... rising around you... - F. Zappa

Given McBush's near Bush-level of deluded announcements of what's happening in Iraq, we can assume Osama bin laden will be declared Iraqi Dictator for Life imminently.

yes...I am ..but I know enough to listen to someone who is there instead of knuckleheads like you and liberals and thier lapdog media.

So you really believe Iraq is safer than Indiana and Petrock just wanders around Baghdad eating ice cream cones?

If so, I have this bridge in Brooklyn for sale -cheap. I'm sure on your WH salary, you can afford it.

he said JUST THIS PAST WEEKEND that there is an end in sight

BL2... What does this Friend of yours do? is he some type of military contract admin. for KBwhat thefuckyoucallit? Must be way up there in mgt to know this stuff....

I think you are full of shit....

thier lapdog media.

Sure you know better... You know exactly who to listen to dont you...
Do you have a bumper sticker from the Fat Faggot drug addict? "rush is right"

McCain: Iraq No Longer 'Abyss of Defeat'

It's a mountain of trouble

And the holes it creates are a uniform 6 feet deep, or a mountain of financial trouble for the wounded.

You have to understand BLT is delusional. He hears "Rush Limpbaugh" for pete sake.

Larry Mohr

" Iraq No Longer 'Abyss of Defeat' "

That was 'Nam, John.

Iraq is something else.

Gal, poetry is your trip ... find us a metaphor.

Is there an echo in Bush's head?

"Is there an echo in Bush's head?"

Not even that; Just empty.

Iraq no longer abyss of defeat.
Says the Man who kisses Dubya's feet.
Poor ole John filled with lies filled with deceit.
Obama will be there to give John a great beat.

Larry Mohr

ah yes......just read the crap coming from the left when faced with the truth.
and my friend works in some sort of administrative capacity there for kbr and he does get out at times.
as far as your comment about what you think of that or me, well they are just meaningless to me or the issue because I KNOW what he told me as he saw it and he has been there for over two years now. I guess I should say that I am sorry that his experiences there dont coincide with the failure and defeat and humiliation that you and your side are thirsting for in that country.

Yup, McCain says success is just around the corner--and always will be if he is elected. Iraq will get better every week, just like, as I remember, Viet Nam did.

When McCain was in Iraq he needed extraordinary security for his little walk in public--which was supposed to show us how "safe" it was.

my friend works in some sort of administrative capacity there for kbr and he does get out at times.
Translation: BLT just pulled this imaginary friend out of his ass cause he's got nothing else.
Maybe he's the guy who got Lokisfart the tickets to the Bush Victory Parade and Baghdad Kumbaya Festival back in 2006.

You just hate the fact that the insurgency is in its death throes, the civil war is yesterday's news already, the new iraq governemnt should be up-n-running in 6-8 weeks and our soldiers are on the brink of coming home.

Have you ever heard of a 'paragraph'?

sure I have and when I am ever in a situation where proper writing is called for.
I will make sure
and see to it that I have
every t crossed and i's dotted.
thanks for
your ........concern..........
but as long as its casual writing where the objective is to get a point across and not look for a pulitzer, then I say.......whatevaaaa

I guess it must be SOP for BLT and fellow lemmings scrambling off a cliff furiously wav ing The Flag to label second thoughts about Bush's appallingly pointless ego war as "failure and defeat and humiliation that you and your side are thirsting for in that country."

This is kind of a long sentence. BLT, whose "objective is to get a point across and not look for a pulitzer," may not understand it. Sorry. herm

yeah......whatever.....

This looks more like a blog from the Queer site Daily Kos, Seems that most of the comments are from spineless cocksuckers from osama obama's nappy head family, Or maybe just islamic idiots who follow the queer'an

If we do not start bombing Iran soon I will just shit.

General Petraeus and Amb. Crocker are going to appear before the Senate Armed Services Committee today to face fierce questioning by Clinton, Obama and McCain.

Any suggestions as to what questions our Fearless Leaders should ask? Seriously.

The floor is open.

How about . . .

Boxers or briefs?

one thing is for certain. politics will be more important than the answers they give.
and this also reminds me of a quote from hillary. rememeber when she told the general that something he said needed a suspension of belief or something like that?
do you think the general will be thinking of "SNIPER FIRE"???????

Socialistas,

The facts are, that we are winning. Be as shrill as you like, but Sadr and Iran, judging by their capitulation recently, also believe we're winning.

They're trying to stall until some Dem wins the election and surrenders, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Unfortunately for them, McCain is going to win.

McCain winning the election will cause Iran to back down from their nukes, and it all turns out pretty well in spite of all the screwups. No war will be necessary unless a Dem wins the election.

jon....it seems that with your idea of what will happen, everyone wins which is why the left right now is probably meeting and preparing to attack your wish here with full force.
as always. success in iraq or even good news between now and november is the LAST thing they want to see.

Jonryker:
your propaganda is laughable. You definitely should write some speeches for Dubya.

Sambarber,

Good one! When you have no response, just mention W and propaganda...Boy, I'm really put in my place now!

You forgot Nazi and racist, or are you saving those for later?

Good news surely sucks for democraps. As has been said by many.

"no longer staring into the abyss of defeat"

So it was an "abyss of defeat" when you went shopping with the military escort?

Were you lying then, or are you lying now?

Oh - you were lying then and now.

I still don't know what 'winning in Iraq' and 'Sucess' actually mean in this context.

Does it mean my son will get to come home? No.

Does it mean we will no longer be sending other troops and money there? No

Does it mean that Iraq will be a normal member of the world? No

Does it mean that we will have special privileges to the oil in their ground? No

Does it mean we have killed all the terrorists? No

Does it mean that there will be no more WMD? No

Does it mean we have found Bin Laden? No

Does it mean that Iraq has a normal and functional government? Maybe, but what is the criteria? Like say, Chinas government or Venezuela or France?

WHAT THE FUCK DOES SUCCESS IN IRAQ MEAN?

sorry for shouting guys.

Lipzoidal,

Get some sleep. We've been through all this.

If you actually have a son in Iraq, understand that when we're done there, it's off to Afghanistan, and after that, somewhere else. This is a global war on terror. It will not be finished during your lifetime.

I, for one, am appreciative of what your son has done. The time for babying him is long past. You just add to his burden. Why would you wish to deny him doing something he wants to do, particularly when it is so helpful? Why would you deny the selflessness and the nobility of what he's CHOSEN to do?

Should he wish to, I hope he continues to protect us and advance the cause of representative government in situations where we can influence it. It is in everyone's long-term interest...even the terrorists....they just don't know it.
