Hillary Clinton surrogates are telling superdelegates that Barack Obama cannot win the general election. Sources with direct knowledge of the conversation between Clinton and Bill Richardson prior to the Governor's endorsement of Obama say she told him flatly, "He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win."

Interesting Brit - George Stephanopoulos is reporting that sources who would know said that is exactly what she kept telling Bill Richardson when he told her he was endorsing Obama.

"Obama cannot win."

I wonder is she meant he cannot, as in "is not able to", or cannot, as in "must not be allowed to"?

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports:

Hmmm...

Clintonista and Hillary Whore George Stephanopoulos Reports:

There... Fixed That For You!

Spud to HRC: Hillary can't win.

Obama has won more states.
Obama has won by bigger margins.
Obama's momentum grows while yours shrinks.
Obama doesn't have 50%+ Negatives.
Obama's campaign tactics don't enrage Dems.

Hillary is simply unelectable.

08ama '08.

Be Well.

/If Hillary was more electable than Obama then RT shills like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch wouldn't be touting her the way they have been.
//Also... Mao wouldn't have voted fer her! ^_^

Hillary is simply unelectable.

Smartest thing Spud has said, well, ever.

Are you gonna vote for Obama?

I agree with Spud, especially given the fact that RW talk radio is encouraging its listeners to vote for HRC in open primaries.

Too many people hate Hillary for her to stand a chance. Unfortunately, the internicine warfare going on in the Democratic party isn't helping things any, but if HRC is the nominee, then McBush wins in a walkaway.

"McBush wins in a walkaway...."

This line of thought is a bit too wonkish. The war's going poorly in a visible way once again and the Fed is talking recession.

Limbaugh is just another one of the recent crop of well-paid sociopaths. Who knows what he thinks? Eight weeks ago he though McCain was the Anti-Christ.

"Internecine warfare...."

Went to my county convention and saw none.

What I'd worry about are the basics---The sorry fact is that in 2008 millions won't vote for a Black or a woman, just because.

Of the two, I will say that I beleive, it's worse to be a woman. Too many men that feel they never got enough breast-feeding.

Hellary Clinton is a Hemerrhoidal Reoccuring Calamity. Why ANYONE in their right frame of mind would support Her is beyond Me.

I agree with Spud,

What a retard

What Hillary means when she and her surrogates say Obama "can't win" is that she will trash him so badly if he doesn't let her have the nomination that no Democrat will be able to win. She is sort of threatening a scorched Earth policy as far as the nomination process goes. I hope the Super Delegates tell her and her surrogates to take their personal destruction politics with them when they join the REpublican Party.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama has raised more than $40 million in March with the help of more than 218,000 new donors.

The amount is less than the record $55 million he raised in February, but still a sizable amount that sustains his place as the fundraising leader among all presidential candidates.

Clinton is expected to have raised about $20 million in March, but her campaign has not announced any totals. Details of their March fundraising will be made public in official reports filed with the Federal Election Commission April 20.

Oh,

why didn't she just say so earlier?

now that she's told us...we can back her and all be happy

"In general election match ups of the three largest and most important swing states in the Electoral College, the survey finds.

Florida: Clinton 44 percent - McCain 42 percent; McCain beats Obama 46 - 37 percent;

Ohio: Clinton beats McCain 48 - 39 percent; Obama gets 43 percent to McCain's 42 percent;

Pennsylvania: Clinton tops McCain 48 - 40 percent; Obama leads McCain 43 - 39 percent.

"When it comes to November, Sen. Hillary Clinton's strength is a big edge over Sen. Barack Obama among white voters, who have not given a majority of their votes to a Democratic presidential nominee since Lyndon Johnson in 1964," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute."

"At least for now, Sen. Clinton's argument that she is the better general election candidate in these key battleground states appears to have some validity," said Brown. "In this survey, her strength among white voters is why she runs better against Sen. McCain than does Sen. Obama.

"Roughly one in five Democrats in the three states say they will vote for McCain against Obama, but less than 10 percent say they would vote for McCain over Clinton. Among white Democrats, 23 percent defect to McCain in a matchup with Obama, but only 11 percent defect when Clinton is the Democratic candidate." Pennsylvania "

Perhaps one reason Clinton believes she will win is the numbers in the Electoral College match-ups.

"At least for now, Sen. Clinton's argument that she is the better general election candidate..."

Key point.

At this point in time that may well be true. But since there is, as yet, no nominee, the water is somewhat muddied by both of them in there fighting it out.

That dynamic will obviously change one a nominee is determined and the campaign against McCain begins in earnest.

Corky

Your new handle, said with a Jamaican accent, sounds like "sit and beg"

HRC is unelectable......damn that SpudDud(tm) is smart and so original. No one on the DR has ever said this same thing over the last 6 months or so. We are so privileged to have the little creep posting on the DR.

And we are so privileged to have you with nothing more to add to the discussion than to stalk and disparage a potato.

AU, the WhineCork(tm) has become "Sit&Beg". Why oh why can't these lame posters stick with one name. Give us your reasoning for changing your name WhineCork(tm).

Yep, and I will point out this disgusting talking potato until the rot in him is 100% complete......and that is getting closer everyday. So stay tuned Sanan. hehehe

"That dynamic will obviously change"

Not necessarily, which is the point. Reagan Dems becoming McCain Dems and Indies going for McCain over Obama is both the point and the problem.

I remember somebody stating a month ago that polls this far out don't mean squat.

National Presidential opinion polls may mean little, but specific polling of swing states which are heavily polled historically and where causal factors are analysed can mean more.

Gee, look at all those "statistical ties".

"I remember somebody stating a month ago that polls this far out don't mean squat."

Well it certainly couldn't have been Siton McBegginstrips because he wasn't even here then.

Not necessarily, which is the point. Reagan Dems becoming McCain Dems and Indies going for McCain over Obama is both the point and the problem.

And if Obama goes in with votes, states, and pledged delegates but doesn't come out with the nomination you don't think people will abandon the Dem party as well?

The argument that states like California and NY aren't going to go Dem is weak at best.

Of course, anything in Hillary's favor matters.

Carry on, my Hillary blinded son.

Daily tracking polls are even less reliable than national Presidential polls. Try taking a close look.

www.quinnipiac.edu

obama is unelectable also.

How come Corky changed his handle? To keep his identity double super secret.

Looks like Obama is getting the Jimmy Carter nod if you read between the lines.

www.thisdayonline.com

Somebody works for the Clinton Spin Machine.

Y'know, 08R, I'm not sure I agree. Actually I'm fairly sure I disagree with your 1123. He's electable, never fear. Now whether or not he should be elected... that's another story.

But if he gets the nod, he might win it, but it'd be close.

If HRC gets the nod, McCain wins. No question. If I weren't dead broke, I'd even be willing to slap a dime (an actual dime, folks, not $1k) on that outcome.

Somebody defects instead of retorting on point. But hey, if that's all you got, that's all you got.

Nice of you to admit that about yourself.

Tim Russert on the general election:

"Nice of you to admit that about yourself."

Oh no! The Rubber/Glue comeback! I'm doooooomed!

Isn't Hillary REALLY saying he can't win because he is not white?

Then she is gonna have to quit the damn campaign.

I know, you can tell a 'true believer' when they refuse to respond to a question. Like when I questioned Corky on whether all people would be given a chance to re-vote in MI, he didn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole!

I like how Russert said Clinton is using the Obama can't win argument because that's all she has left. She's losing in delegates, the popular vote, and states won.

I would like to know if Corky/Seaton would vote for Obama if he won the primary.

Does sit-and-beg agree that going in 50% couldn't bear Hillary... and has the Clinton's clever antics alienated virtually all of the black vote... and does he (sit-and-beg ) agree that McBush has a 60%+ favorable rating ?

Handing the election to the war party would be the ultimate shits, and conversely somehow handing it to the Clintons would be an awfully close 2nd.

It's the 4th quarter, the Pats are ahead and want to call off the game with the Giants.

Quell surprise.

Wolfson added that they expected Clinton's tax returns to be released within the one-week time period she had predicted.

That pledge was actually made on March 25, more than one week ago.

More song and dance.

Give Corky a break. As a neutered trans-gendered bisexual lesbian liberal he clings to the Clintons and their promises of renewed glory and special status for degenerates like himself.

Obviously he grows more desperate each day as the numbers in Pennsylvania change to Obama's favor.

The tragicomedy continues...

"The tragicomedy continues"

Yes, you do still seem to be posting.....

I really hope these numbers are wrong for the Dems. Anything less than a 10 point lead now and they are done. I still stand by my prediction of a 20 point win for McCain in the general. Also, why is everyone saying Hillary is running a dirty campaign? You don't think the Reps would trot out Rezko, Wright, his wife's dumbass statements, his past of drug use/dealing, etc? Hill is doing Obama a favor by getting these things out early. The real question is what else Rove has or is willing to make up about the guy. I don't know, but I suspect it has to do with white women....

Well, add to the mix that the Giants only have a 10% chance to win, and the Giants have to defame the Pats in an attempt to make the Pats look less winable. There is that too.

But people are tiring of the negativity thankfully, and Hillary lying about stuff, just blatant coming under sniper fire lies hasn't helped her. This isn't an associate 'mispeaking' this is her being shown to be a bald faced liar, I think that is hurting her too.

I imagine shortly after PA people may bail on her. But I'd love to see the scandal she comes up with April 19th.

But, at least "Corky" isn't posting any more.

Spud keeps waiting fer the ClintCo desperation to rech it's grim and inevitable conclusion whereby Hillary totally flips out and actually threatens superdelegates with a gun.

"Vote fer me or I'll spill yer brains all over these wall, see!"

You know it's coming.

Here's fun one Spud found on Fark courtesy of the inestimable Attila the Pun.

It's re-done version of the old Rocky themsong "Eye of the Tiger" only slightly altered to describe the nomination fight between Barack and Hillary.

"Eye of the Liar"

** cue music **

Talkin' 'bout, sniper retreat
All she ducked: Sinbad's glances
Went to Belfast, now she's serving a treat
Just a Dem and her will to connive

So many times, it happens too fast
You pimp your daughter for glory
You lose your grip on the facts of the past
You must fight just to keep them contrived

Chorus:
It's the eye of the Liar, it's the fault of the Right
Risin' up to the challenge of Obama
And the last known survivor answers phones in the night
And she's watchin' us all in the eye of the Liar

Face to face, she's getting beat
Barack wins, drank her milkshake
She wants to live on Pennsylvania Street
For she kills with the skill to contrive

It's the eye of the Liar, it's the fault of the Right
Risin' up to the challenge of Obama
And the last known survivor answers phones in the night
And she's watchin' us all in the eye of the Liar

Not her fault, NAFTA's a flop
Change the facts, change her story
Saw The Youtube, now she's not gonna stop
Just a Dem and her will to contrive

It's the eye of the Liar, it's the fault of the Right
Risin' up to the challenge of Obama
And the last known survivor answers phones in the night
And she's watchin' us all in the eye of the Liar

Spud is LOL!

Be Well.

"Quell surprise"

A-HA! Proof positive of the cork-puller's dual identiy! Muahahahahahaha!

How depressed are you quee... I'm sorry... you lefties that after over 7 years of Bush, you guys are forced into debating who can beat the Republican nominee...

LMAO... I find it funny.

"LMAO... I find it funny."

Another way of looking at it Rob is that they are fighting so hard is because whoever is the nominee will also be the president. They are fighting over who gets to go up against grandpa McCan't because they figure it will be a cake walk.

Of course now Hillary (TBK) says she didn't say it, but she was lying, cause her lips were moving.

It is funny to see the Dems eat each other alive.

Specially when the 'first black prez' tries to destroy the next one.

What a bunch of cheesy whores you are.

What a bunch of cheesy whores you are.

Bullseye

just like in Texas when LBJ should have gone to jail, but went to congress over dead people voting in the pan handle:>)

Oh wait - Hillary (TBK) has now said she misheard the question, and perhaps she DID say it.... who knows....

What is it with this woman, she mis-hears, mis-speaks, mis-remembers. Great googly moogly lets just hope she doesn't mis-hear, mis-speak or mis-remember when she gets that 3am phone call and has her finger on the button.

"dead people voting in the pan handle"

You need a remedial geography lesson.

my parents had his Texan book on LBJ, too:>)

When Lyndon B. Johnson became president Haley published A Texan Looks at Lyndon. It was a best seller and it is claimed that in Texas only the Bible outsold Haley's book in 1964. In the book Haley attempted to expose Johnson's corrupt political activities. This included a detailed look at the relationship between Johnson and Billy Sol Estes. Haley pointed out that three men who could have provided evidence in court against Estes, George Krutilek, Harold Orr and Howard Pratt, all died of carbon monoxide poisoning from car engines.

Haley also suggested that Johnson might have been responsible for the death of John F. Kennedy: "Johnson wanted power and with all his knowledge of political strategy and his proven control of Congress, he could see wider horizons of power as Vice-President than as Senate Majority Leader. In effect, by presiding over the Senate, he could now conceive himself as virtually filling both high and important positions - and he was not far from wrong. Finally, as Victor Lasky pointed out, Johnson had nursed a lifetime dream to be President. As Majority leader he never could have made it. But as Vice-president fate could always intervene."

www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk

Ronald Reagan took it all the way to the convention in 1976 against Gerald Ford, which many blame for Ford's loss.

Ted Kennedy in 1980.

There are many other examples.

Not the first time primaries have gone on this long. In fact, this is short comparatively speaking.

BANI, you just also reminded me of Johnson and Kennedy in 1960 as well - all the way to the convention.

Again an Again we have reporting that doesn't really cut the mustard. Anything to make the Clinton's Look bad. The Media is so in the tank for Obama that they no longer investigate the news they just report what surrigates of the Obama campaign say..What a fucking Joke!!!!!

Well for once Clinton tells the truth.

Of course now the left is in Obama love and just can't accept it.

Now these left wing losers are turning on the same Clintons who they would have fallen on a sword for just a decade ago to cover up the stench and corruption.

I guess what goes around comes around.

Bee Swell

Yet here's a wrinkle, from a source with direct knowledge of Richardson's conversations with the Clintons: Richardson himself told Sen. Clinton and former President Clinton that he didn't think Obama could win, back when he was (according to the Clintons) telling them earlier this year that he wouldn't endorse Obama.

"Too inexperienced," Richardson said, the source tells ABC News.

Bingo--the invisible man has no character no judgment and no experience.

Murphy

In fact, this is short comparatively speaking.

but it seems a lot longer since we have been going after everybody FOR FOUR YEARS NOW.....

and just heard an interesting segment of cooper 360.

reps meeks and claville(i think) are black and thier districts went obama and they will vote for clinton because as they say superdelegates were meant to be independent of all the other voters...
and they also brought up this RACIAL view....they are getting all sorts of threats and demands but yet....what SENATOR FROM MASSACHUSETTES is a superdelegate who is voting for OBAMA even though his state went for hillary in pretty major fashion.
well OLD TEDDY (HIC!) of course. and these two black reps tell us that no one is giving them shit about it......

and this is THE DEMOCRAT PARTY...that party of racial equality and diversity and the allknowing compassionate dealers of mediocraty????

mediocroty
mediocrity
mediokrakkitty

ah fuck it.

Another way of looking at it Rob is that they are fighting so hard is because whoever is the nominee will also be the president.

This explanation flies in the face of the title of this thread.

So, no.
