Obama Camp Hammers Letter To Pelosi As "Inappropriate" -- Demands Hillary Reject It

Obama spokesperson Bill Burton responds to the letter from top Clinton fundraisers demanding that Nancy Pelosi say publicly that super-dels shouldn't feel bound to support the pledged del count leader...

"This letter is inappropriate and we hope the Clinton campaign will reject the insinuation contained in it. Regardless of the outcome of the nomination fight, Senator Obama will continue to urge his supporters to assist Speaker Pelosi in her efforts to maintain and build a working majority in the House of Representatives."

To quote one of the posters on the original article:

Shorter Top Clinton Voters:

We need to let the democratic process play out so that the superdelegates can overrule it.

So true.

This is getting ridiculous...

HC supporters...I'll "take the money and run" !!!

BO..." Senator Obama will continue to urge his supporters to assist Speaker Pelosi in her efforts to maintain and build a working majority in the House of Representatives."...you can forget about the down ticket candidates!!!

forgot...Regardless of the outcome of the nomination fight,

01/01/08 prediction

dems clean sweep
President

Both houses congress

Increase Governors

Increase State legislatures

01/04/08

dems..."never mind" loved Gilda Radner

should be 04/01/08

This just gets better and better. Did anyone doubt that it would come to things like this?

theres a lot of a big money thats heavily invested in Bill & Hillary being in the whitehouse come 2009 and they've just realized thats its all slipping away... they were expecting big returns on their investment, I guess I would be pissed off if I just blew millions of dollars on a losing candidate.

Pelosi seemed pretty goofy when she talked like she did with Stephanopolous.

She wants to stay the top of heap.

She should apologize because she doesn't know what superdelegates mean or purpose thereof.

Chaos--that is the purpose.

And folks who want them to have a mini primary at the end of the primary, on or about June 7th, have no idea how the SD's work--or the Dem party. That would be Pelosi.

They will not weigh in until August 29th--keeping Hillary and Obama short of the goal of 2025 delegates.

Love it love it love it...winner winner chicken dinner...

Murphy

damn...did any of you guys just see leno and the bit about hillary and obama.....

Twenty top Hillary fundraisers and donors have sent a scathing private letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, chastising her for publicly saying that the super-delegates should support the winner of the pledged delegate count and demanding that she say that they should make an "independent" choice.

At the end of the letter there is a mention that if she doesn't heed the demands of the vagina-visioned members of the Crazy Clinton Cult that Jeff Gillooly will be sent to Nancy's office with a lead pipe!

Horrors!

Be Well.

So Richardson isn't Judas then, since he isn't voting with his state, or is he still Judas? All the spinning gets so confusing!

So now the blackmail of money enters the fray from the hillary camp.

Nice, wonder what hillary has promised these money tycoons.

John--

And Kennedy is not voting with his states vote--so where does that go??

Judas is pretty harsh--and NO apology...

It just gets better and better...

And let's call the Obama thing what it is really is--A CULT!!

Murphy

And let's call the Obama thing what it is really is--A CULT!!

I'm starting to agree with you. I mean, come on, you can like your candidate
but this is kind of going crazy!

And let's call the Obama thing what it is really is--A CULT!!

Are you one of them vagina-visioned shills fer Hill now Murphy or are you still throwing yer scented underthings at John McAncient when he shambles up to the stump?

Hillary has a real cult around her but the media gives it a pass and still treat Chelsea like she's twelve year old.

Hillary surrounds herself with young idealistic women who smile and lap it up when she treats them like shit. "Such a strong women!" they tell each other (with moistened gussets and weak knees)

Don't imagine fer one damned minute that John McInsane stands a farking chance in November either because of all this Dem bloodletting.

Check the campaign contributions, numbers of donors and numbers of folks coming out in the primaries. Yer boy'll get creamed in November.

Sorry you had to hear it from Spud.

Spud ordinarily likes giving folks good news! ^_^

Be Well.

Murphy supports only evil rethuglicans who prey on those less fortunate. Murphy wants her pockets lined

What do you mean by "going crazy"?

Spud--the party out of power always does better in the primaries --votes and the donations--check out Kerry when he ran.

And talk about the Obama Media Pass--You are kidding? Right? LOL...

And Hillary is no better--they are both liberals and Obama has no judgment and Hillary has no experience--with both having a dose of lying.

And Messiah--try again cupcake..

Murphy

Murphy:

Not a cult.

Hillary behaves as if she has a cult.

Time for somebody to knock sense into her.

But who?

Pensylvanians, please do it and get her out of here.

OBAMA O8 + Democratic Congress

(Murphys will be allowed to protest)

Murphy go ahead and vote for McCain. he will your city looking like Maywood soon enough.

And talk about the Obama Media Pass--You are kidding? Right? LOL

McAncient and Shillary are both corportely pre-approved candidates who will only give America more of the same corrupt government that works against the peoples best long term interests in order to satisfy corporate agendas.

The MSM and the MIC and Big Gov all have the sdame agenda and so yueah, Obama as the outsider populist candidate is being given a much rougher ride than Hill and John-boy put together.

Spud doesn't imagine that you will ever break out of yer delusional propaganda-reinforced bubble of non-reality, being the typical dumbed down ill-informed American voter that you are, but still Spud feels it's his duty to at least point it out to you from time to time.

Obama gets a raw deal and Hill and Johnny McFucksalot get free passes mostly.

The propaganda is not Pravda obvious, it's more sophisticated than that, but the fact that the MSM is repeating the Rev Wright sound bytes over and over again ad nauseum ad infinitum and feeling free to call the man a racist should tell you sommat.

Maybe not you per se but folks who pay attention and see beyond the machinations of the MSM certainly.

Be Well.

If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything. Bwahahahha....

You think Obama is not for big business?

He has great cover with millions of small donors...

But he is bought and paid for--he is part of the Daley Chicago machine with the likes of Rezko doing his bidding. Oh I mean buying---

Anything the empty suit says is suspect. But go ahead and think the guy is pure.

He is in like the unions and the special interests.

But of course--our problem here is that the MSM is giving him a pass--but it will come out soon enough and worse than the pastor.

He already lost the independents--he will lose some Dems as well.

And I wanted Duncan Hunter first--McCain has his problems--but he won't throw the economy down the toilet like the invisible man or the purfectly corrupted woman on the Dem side.

Murphy

but he won't throw the economy down the toilet like the invisible man or the purfectly corrupted woman on the Dem side.

Murphy

It's already there.

Murphy-
Seven years or Republican rule have already wrecked the economy. We're in a recession, the dollar is a global joke, the debt has exploded, etc...
We've had about all we can take of borrow (from Red China) and spend Republicans.

Nancy Pelosi is only telling it as it should be and "good for you Nancy" keep it up. Its the Clinton people that now should be told "Shame on you Hillary Clinton.

Amazing, any effort that Hillary sees is advancing Obama she speaks against and is trying to take away pledged delegets now. She is so behind and such an embarressment to the Democratic party no one will tell her out of politness. I hope the only person who has some pull with her, Bill Clinton will sit her down and talk her out of going on. Its not a matter of being a quitter.
I really think she would blow up the Democratic Convention Building in Denver when Obama was inside and she was outside. Holy Mary mother of God.

"I hope the only person who has some pull with her, Bill Clinton will sit her down and talk her out of going on. Its not a matter of being a quitter."
==============
So many interns and so little time! The only phone call Hillary is going to get at 3am is Bill calling home for a ride because he lost his car keys somewhere.

Just imagine, if you will, a possible future.... this group of hillary idiots will use whatever tactics, ranging from nazism to full-blown socialistic prressures to arrive at what has up to now been nameless. Now we can name it...

IT'S HILLARYism, bitch (which is a form of advanced narcissism).

It uses whatever tactics are needed to appease the hillary beast for it's own sake. It's devours it's own children. It feeds it's husband young debs and perscription drugs so he will stay in line. And you think there is some humanity there that will come through if only it gets what it wants, think again, bucko, you're toast if the hildebeast gets control. You too will be sacrificed at the hillary alter.

Is this all we are and all we can be? Please tell me it is a fluke, a freak of nature or something.

The horrible truth of this letter being that the writer's are factually, historically, and morally correct in their analysis.

Leader Pelosi's comments were slanted to support Obama's spin on how delegates SHOULD vote, not on how the rules of the nomination process concerning the role of delegates are actually written.

It may, in their opinion, be a crying shame that Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Tom Daschle, Gary Hart, and Howard Dean will never be President, but their attempts at living out their failed dreams in an inexperienced young candidate should stop somewhat short of including the current House Leader in their effort to intentionally slant the public perception of what the DNC rules really are.

Hillary has said that pledged delegates aren't really pledged, and last night on Fox she more or less said she is going to take this fight all the way to the convention. Her plan is to as well as she can in the rest of the primaries and then go to the convention, win the SD and get Obama's pledged delegates to switch to her. Expect the number of Obama supporters who will vote for McCain to increase if she succeeds in her plan.

Seaton Egg,

I will respectfully disagree with your premise that Pelosi is in either camp or was intentionally "spinning" to benefit one candidate or another. The real answer is much simpler....if the super delegates rob Obama of the nomination, the black voters that are DESPARATELY NEEDED by the democrats to insure a nationwide success may either stay home - or worse, get a little revenge by showing up and voting Republican. If that happens, not only do the dems lose the White House, but most likely, Pelosi will be moving out of the Speaker's office. This is about self preservation, not a national strategy.

I respectably submit that this is about the rules of the nominating process, long established by the DNC, not about any particular stratagem, self-serving or otherwise.

We all get to have our opinions about what might or might not happen given any particular set of circumstances, but for the House Speaker to intentionally convolute the rules in the public's perception in beyond the pale.

Seaton,

Please don't get me wrong. I will be elated if this matter continues. I voted for Obama specifically so a scenario like this might materialize and it has. Hillary and Obama will beat on each other while McCain sets on the side lines - unscathed. At the end, if "G-- Damn America" Obama is the nominee, he will be so distasteful to the majority of Americans, he will be defeated - thanks to the mauling he will receive from Hildebeast. If she wins, the black voters (and at last count something like 20% of the democrat voters) will vote Republican or not vote at all. I fail to see a down side. Party unity is the only thing that can save the parties chances...and that is not going to happen.

"This is about self preservation, not a national strategy."

Pelosi's office responds to Clinton supporters

"Speaker Pelosi is confident that superdelegates will choose between Senators Clinton or Obama -- our two strong candidates -- before the convention in August," Daly said. "That choice will be based on many considerations, including respecting the decisions of millions of Americans who have voted in primaries and participated in caucuses. The Speaker believes it would do great harm to the Democratic Party if superdelegates are perceived to overturn the will of the voters. This has been her position throughout this primary season, regardless of who was ahead at any particular point in delegates or votes."

But Daly's comments suggest the speaker will not be backing off of her stance any time soon.

I am king, queen, woman here me roar...no backing down

And ah reckon good ole boy A_Citizen likes what Bush has done to this nation and desires more of the same with McCain... way to go patriot !

BO's response to the response of the response...too much time talking about responses, dems wasting valuable time they should be defining JMC and the policy issues that separate the two parties

Obama: It Would Be "Extremely Helpful" For Nomination Race To Be Over Soon

Barack Obama said last night that it would be better for the potential Democratic nominee to be able to shift into the general election, instead of letting a divisive primary last for months longer.

"I think giving whoever the nominee is two or three months to pivot into the general election would be extremely helpful, instead of having this drag up to the convention," Obama told reporters on board his plane.

It's possibly the closest he has come to openly wishing Hillary Clinton would drop out of the race, and perhaps even a nod-and-wink appeal to uncommitted super-delegates who might prefer that the race be over sooner rather than later.

Yomelib,

I suppose that you are ecstatic about what either "G-d Damn America" Obama or Hildebeast "Rambo" Cliton want to do to wreck the nation, usurp freedom and re-distribute wealth? I suppose you have not had the hammer and sickle tattoo removed?

More of the same? Well, my wealth has grown, my buying power has increased, my stocks are up, and my businesses are sound. Yeah, I am pretty happy. I will note that my taxes doubled from last year. (While that pissed me off tremendously, my income did the same, so I guess someone needed it more than I did.) I suppose that I could stand more of the same....especially in light of the apparent alternatives.

Personally, I think it would be good for the party and for the nominee if this thing can be decided in June after the primaries are over instead of dragging the process out until the convention. Maybe that is what Obama meant. If so, I agree.

G_T...it would be better for the party, however both the HC & BO campaigns are thinking what's better from their candidate. Both campaigns are full of ex BC campaigners and officials; they are oil and water, very competitive, and DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER.

Regardless what happens I think if it is not a HC/BO or BO/HC ticket the party will not be 100% united. As far as both being on the same ticket early on a possibility more recently chance slim to none but as they get closer to the convention it could be thrust on them or their ambition will make them hold their collective noses and join.

MMike,

With regards to the juggling of the ticket, I have two questions: 1. Why would ANYONE want to be the Hildebeast's VP? You know that Bill is going to be doing any "non-presidential heavy lifting" that needs to be done. You would be the most ineffective VP since Harry Truman. 2. Do you believe for a half second that the Hilldebeast would accept ANYTHING less than first place under any circumstances? Would either Obama or the party want her on the ticket with all of the baggage she carries (or misspeaks about)?

I am truly interested in your thoughts.

"Flip Side of Democrats' Spat: Higher Turnout

The conventional wisdom that a prolonged race for the Democratic presidential nomination between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton is bad news for their party may be turning on its head."

Pelosi is an airhead and always has been an airhead.

This is one time Clinton is correct.

A_Citizen...Both BO & HC are very ambitious and WILL fight all the way to the convention for first prize.

Why would ANYONE want to be the Hildebeast's VP?...

Do you really think BO would turn it down if that was the circumstances? It gives him the advantage going into lead into 2012 or 2016.

Do you believe for a half second that the Hilldebeast would accept ANYTHING less...

left with out the nomination YES, if she's not on a ticket now (Pre.or VP.) it's over for her.

Would either Obama or the party want her on the ticket...

it is getting harder to see that however, HC and BO would be an unstoppable ticket, they complement each others supporters demographics were one is weak the other is stronger ie old, young, afro amer, white, hispanic, women, old guard pols., old & new money, the mix of progressive and centralist, etc.

As far as wanting to be on each other's ticket they might not have a choice, it might be thrust upon he by the powers that be (DNC) to avoid a messy convention and general election. The problem is that who ever gets the nomination up to 50% of the party will be pissed.

MMike,

I agree with your last statement. However, I think that the weaknesses that each of them have make the ticket FAR from unstoppable. You have all of the Hildebeast's baggage, from the first Cliton administration forward and now, including her recent "misspeaks" about the Bosnia trip. Then you have all of Obama's problems with his pastor, his wife, and his own past statements. I think that such a ticket is easily defeatable, regardless of how it is stacked.

A_Citizen would be true except...

1. the completion, state of the country/world

2. we are always more forgiving of our own transgression than of our opponents, the dems. will show up in big numbers for a joint ticket.

I think that the weaknesses that each of them have make the ticket FAR from unstoppable. Posted by A_Citizen at 2008-03-27 01:49 PM

A_Citizen...what hurts the dems is a primary that goes all the way to the convention and the choice left to the super delegates. Looks to be that way.

"The Obama campaign is trying to persuade everybody that this is over....said Clinton adviser Harold Ickes.

"We think that both candidates are going to be within a hair of each other by the time the last state votes. At the end of this process, neither candidate will have the nomination" and superdelegates will decide," Ickes said.

Clinton has made it clear she will not consider bowing out of the race until all of the states have concluded their voting
