Not to mention the 'America's chickens are coming home to roost', 'Hirosima, Nagasaki..." etc was said during a FoxNews show broadcast the day before that sermon.

The remarks were made by U.S. Ambassador Edward Peck, a 32 year veteran of the Foreign Service who spent most of those years in the ME.

Listening to many of Wright's other sermons, he's a good pastor and preacher. I heard mostly about love and sacrifice, giving and forgiving.

But, I'm not one to jump to conclusions based on 10 seconds of someone's life either.

Dean J. Snyder, Senior Minister Foundry United Methodist Church March 19, 2008

This is a critical time in America's history as we seek to repent of our racism. No matter which candidates prevail, let us use this time to listen again to one another and not to distort one another's truth.

Hey dummy, you repent of racism by opposing it, not by being an apologist for it, or justifier of it.

You speak with a forked tongue Rev. Snyder. Your statements are internally inconsistent.

Are you a superannuated man subject to early onset senility or Alzheimer's, or some other mind destroying illness?

Someone may need to explain your dysfunctional mentation, to yu in very simple and basic terms. If your confusion isn't attributable to the debilities of age, Rev. Emeritus Snyder, then you may never have had a mind to lose.

If you are sincere, condemn the racist associations of Oba Don't forget Rev. Wright's pal and traveling companion, the leader of the Nation of Islam and fellow america-hater, black racist and antiSemite, when you rebuke these black racists who are Obama's mentors and role models.

I won't suggest you are a liar when you support black racists and racism as your impairment may prevent you from understanding what you're doing. Here you are, shaming the Christian Church by acting as a facilitator of racism, and promoting a racist and racism.

JOHNSON

Are you 'good' TADOWE?

(the bad one comes out in the wee hours)

Where has Tadowe been lately? He hasn't posted on here in awhile. Hope he's okay.

"I won't suggest you are a liar ...

Posted by Johnson"

Good, because that would be singularly disingenuous given your track record up to now.

Now, continue blatting your one increasingly sour note.

AU

I know how much you like Obama so just a suggestion to help out. Obama should have Wright speak -- favorably! -- about his time in the USMC. It might help soothe things over a bit especially with any veterans who might have been insulted by some of Wright's perceived to be anti-patriotic remarks. I never hear anything aobut Wright's time in the Marines. If I were running the Obama campaign that is one thing I would do. Just a suggestion from a disinterested (in all the candidates!) observer.

Hmmmm...

-71% of Americans agree with Obama's position on race
-73% of independent voters say the Wright issue made no difference in their voting decision
-Obama closes to within 10 in PA
-And increases lead to 21 in NC

Ya gotta blow harder Johnson, that one note is sounding a little thin.

CC

If the campaign only listened to me! *grin*

The whole Wright thing has been blown way out of proportion anyway. So far the Obama campaign has done a pretty good job. If and when Obama makes it to the nomination I'm sure the campaign has lots of people to roll out on Rev. Wright's behalf. Even Wright has said in the past he wasn't a mentor and said Obama had a special spiritualism about him he'd rarely seen. Wright grinningly wished he could take responsibility for Obama's life course.

The conference head of the 99% white United Churches of Christ in IL is a member there. The President of the denomination speaks incredibly highly of Wright. This is smoke and mirrors. Hillary was at it again today.

I'm not a brainless follower. I've done my homework. Obama in my view has incredible judgment - as proven by this letter a YEAR ago on the then looming housing crisis when no one else was talking about it:

One Year Ago: Obama proposed the summit Clinton is offering today

If Wright was the monster we've heard about Obama wouldn't have stayed. Neither would this person:

Rev. Jane Fisler Hoffman

Here's a letter about Wright from the Clinton's former pastor from their days in D.C.

The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times. He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. He has been a vocal critic of the racism, sexism and homophobia which still tarnish the American dream. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize. This is a critical time in America's history as we seek to repent of our racism. No matter which candidates prevail, let us use this time to listen again to one another and not to distort one another's truth.

Hillary does a good Tonya Harding doesn't she?

Ron Paul had a newsletter that was printed in his name by someone who supported him. Racist remarks fluttered about in that newsletter. A few of the liberals here wrote it off as indicatives of the principles of Ron Paul.

Ron Paul can't exercise any real control over the news letter.

Yet the comments of Rev. Wright are dismissed by the same liberals as commentary on the state of race in the United States.

Funny how that works.

Bill Clinton's spiritual adviser...wasn't that Jesse Jackson at one point? A guy who can't complete a sentence without making up new words. A guy who will jump on a white on black crime in seconds for his few minutes in front of the camera to seem relevant. A guy who doesn't apologize to the lives he ruined when it turns out it turns out the black girl was lying. No remorse for his own racism.

When republicans are racists, at least you know it. They're almost proud of it. They'll tell you straight up.

When democrats are racists...oh what am I saying. We all know that there have never been any racist democrats...right Mr. Byrd?

AXIOM

Wow. You found ONE former racist in the Dem Party.

The others from the 60's became the GOP of the South today.

American Unity. MAybe you should be a little research. Robery Byrd was the Senate Leader of the Democratic Party elected bu his peers.

I think he may be 'good TadOwe' (split personality) and posting as Johnson now. Same kind of right wing rants, but without all the Democratic/Leftist/Seeking to lose Iraq for political gain....

LOL

Wow. You found ONE former racist in the Dem Party.

One? Former?

Visit some small towns in the south. Particularly the ones that consistently vote democrat. You'll find that your party isn't as understanding and accepting as you think.

Try this hat on for size.

When I was dating a black woman we went to visit our families on holidays, which family do you think judged us with contempt? My family, who brought me up with the ideas of personal responsibility, financial responsibility and to judge people by their actions not their appearance; Or her family. Members of which campaigned for John Kerry in the last election.

Racial blindness my ass. Democrats divide the people up into their little groups to use each to their own means.
