John McCain has officially broken the limits imposed by the presidential public financing system, according to spending reports filed last week by the campaign. The senator from Arizona has spent $58.4 million on his Republican primary effort. Those who have committed to public financing can spend no more than $54 million on their primary bid.

Holy fuck this is the most important thing ever! I totally give a shit about this!

I am in shock. And awe! Now I must change my man diaper.

McCain was for the limits before he was against them. And because he was against Bush's tax cuts for the rich before he was for them, it all balances out and he is consistent as far as righties are concerned.

McCain will say and do anything to get elected. He's pathetic.

McCain will say and do anything to get elected.

It still won't matter.

McCain has a better chance of being in a coffin come January 2009 than a Presidential motorcade.

I'm just saying.......

So?

So?

Jomama...it's a difference of unlimited funds for the general election were the dems. have the fund raising advantage, to being restricted to the public finance limit

So?

So far you are right JMC can do what he wants...

"One snag is that the commission has four vacancies and therefore lacks a quorum to consider the matter."

No wonder the republicans will not allow a vote on three of the nominated commision members.

I don't know Obama could be a popular choice for the death pool.

The senator was certified to enter the matching-funds program last year when he was starved for cash. But once he started to win, he decided to hold off

Hey A-hole, you may not care, but PLEASE don't you DARE bring up McCain's "integrity" about keeping pledges.

This will give Obama the green light to go for donations as well, and let the fun begin!

Just a sign how he would run our country if President.

The first two posts are indicative of the republican mentality, which tells them it's ok for them to break the laws, they only apply to other people.

McCain is breaking the law, plain and simple.

It won't matter. McCain will never be able to touch Obama's fundraising totals. His website is the most popular depository on the Internet.

Remind me, isn't the limit we're talking about something that McCain helped put together in the first place? And now... oh wait. This is politics we're talking about. Of course the rules are gonna get broken.

Interestingly the reps. will not allow a vote on three of the nominees until there is a vote on the fourth Hans von Spakovsky.

There is a hold on HVS by dem. Senator Barrack Obama. Should he pull his hold get a quorum and let the FEC go after JMC ?

JM will be the next prez. Quit drinking the bong water folks.

Can anyone say crook? It runs rampant int the GOP camp. Hell just look at the money handling problems at the RNC.

Just another Repub breaking the law. Move along, nothing to see here, folks.

While the idea of a McCain presidency is certainly bothersome, the fact that there are still people who enjoy the idea is truly nauseating.

FACT: John McCain graduated 894th in a class of 899 at the US Naval Academy. That puts him in the BOTTOM 1% OF HIS CLASS FOLKS!! This man looks to be a about as bright as Bush 43. We are in deep doo-doo if this not so bright bulb ends up in the White House.

Good point. Also consider this...

If John Sidney McCain III's father, John Sidney McCain Jr and his father John Sidney McCain Sr weren't both Admirals then John McCain would prolly still be in the Navy and prolly wouldn't have made it much past Private.

As it is the legacy Military Brat got to fly jets (Remind you off anyone?) or to be more precise to CRASH jets.

The first two he crashed were while training. Anybody else woulda been given a toothbrush and told to clean ;latrines with it for the next 6 years but nooooooooooo theyu gavbe him another jet.

Third times a charm they say and this time he managed to crash his jet in "Nam were the then proceeded to spend the next six years being tortured.

Spud respects honourable service but THAT series of unfortunate events?

Not so much.

Also consider the fact that he's had rage issues since he was a child and that when back when he had his legendary temper tantrums/fits his parents only solution eventually was to dunk him in cold water until he chilled out.

After the war he cheated on his wife with strippers and hookers before turning his gold digging attention to his current trophy wife, Cindy (the pill popping thief) who's daddy ponied up the dough fer Johnny Boy's first political campaign.

Combine all that with the fact that he talks about staying in Iraq for 10,000 years.

Combine that with the fact that he's older than dirt.

Combine that with the fact he's already showing signs of losing his mental faculties and you begin to think...

DO NOT WANT!

I'm no fan of McCain, but even bottom of your class at the Naval Academy is still doing 'excellent' at most other colleges.

Listen, the guy says he doesn't know much about economics - he just counted the money incorrectly.

Then forgot.

Yep selling crack fills those coffers quik.
Nothing like a dirty politician to bring in the bucks!

obama will never see the WH. You people are freaking dreaming.

This is the worst thing about McCain that the left can DRUDGE up.
How lame.

Meanwhile Osama belongs to a "kill whitey" cult.
and Hillary supervised the whitehouse Executive blowjob schedule, in between her rug-munch meetings. nice.

Excellent. The ridiculous claims are starting to get funny.

FC...This could end his campaign before he even gets the nomination but without a quorum the FEC can't act he gets a potential free ride.

How could JMC compete against the dem. money machine if he is restricted to public financing?

Not lame at all.

"How could JMC compete against the dem. money machine if he is restricted to public financing?"

That's a question the LMC campaign should have answered before requesting pubic financing. There's something to be said for a campaign which doesn't believe in its own candidate.
