As a proud resident of the State of Arizona, We are a perfect example of states that are self sufficient, even thugh we have a democratic govenor. as a right wing nut I voted for her. She does a good Job and is cutting spending instead of raising taxes. We get no pork becuase both our senators are fiscal responsible and we have a great economy..

We are very progressive,Gun rights, Low crime, Cracking down on the border, Mass exodus from California to here kinda pisses me off, But..

How much of Arizonas money is for illegal immigrants? Housing, welfare, medical etc...?

And the fact remains that red states operate on a net take, while blue ones on a net give.

Rural states are going to tend to get more per capita, just because there are fewer people: It still costs money to build a mile of federal highway, even if your state only has a few hundred thousand people. Likewise for airport expansions and other projects.
