By Jim Vandehei and Mike Allen: One big fact has largely been lost in the recent coverage of the Democratic presidential race: Hillary Rodham Clinton has virtually no chance of winning.

But I thought it isn't over until one candidate gets to 2024?

Anyway, if Hillary is truly pissed about MI and FL and feels she was shafted, I would suggest her running on a 3rd party ticket and bringing together all of those so-called "disenfranchised" voters.

Yes, I know...

Never count out the undead killing machines that are the Clintons. She'll take the nomination and/or destroy the party in the process. Either way she isn't going anywhere.

I don't know...she's doing her best to try to steal it.

It's amazing that the Clinton campaign has managed to get the media to treat this like an undecided race. The reality-distortion field is impressive. If Obama trailed in pledged delegates, trailed in the popular vote, and had at one point lost 11 primaries in a row, he would've been driven from the race.

Hillary Clinton Not Looking Very Presidential

----

That's straight from Bubba's book. Perception is reality.

Ummm.....recent polls show Clinton ahead of Obama....ummmm.....do you idiots think she bought those polls? And, if the polls show Clinton significantly ahead of Obama by the time the Democratic nomination is decided and they give the nomination to Obama - who do you think all those Clinton voters will vote for? Does the drudge retort attract an excessive number of DailyKOS idiots or something?

SARGE

My wife and I laughed when Hillary whined about 'always getting the first question'.

As Jean Cummings of Politico.com rightly pointed out, Hillary's statement didn't come at the beginning of the debate, it came after the first question on NAFTA - a subject she SHOULD be uncomfortable talking about lying out both sides of her mouth as she has.

Does Hillary think she wouldn't 'get the first question' as CiC?

There are too many unanswered questions Hillary has avoided answering - on NAFTA, on contributors, on pardons, etc. Tough on you Hillary.

Since when do polls matter more than delegates and the popular vote? You're suggesting that Democratic primaries and caucuses should be ignored in favor of whoever leads in national polls after the primaries are over. That's the most back-asswards idea I've ever heard.

OLDFART

ONE poll shows her ahead. All the others have Obama up.

She isn't going to win, so polls don't matter anyway.

She'll take the nomination and/or destroy the party in the process.

She's guaranteeing we'll all be talking about "President McCain", this time next year.

America,

I know, it was to me "Why Is She Complaining?" You get to Set the Tone when you get the opening question. She plained it all from A-Z. She will do and say Anything to get elected. I honestly wish she would just end her campaign. She has Zero chance to win it would be best for her to do so.

Since that is the only way Hillary can win. She has to shoot Obama down hard. Make him look totally unelectable. Then the SD's will back her. THAT is the only way she can win, and what she is doing right now.

I'd ask Corky about that but he's totally disingenuous, lol.

Unless I'm wrong, the point of the super-delegates is to kind of save the party from itself and nominate the better candidate despite who wins the elections... a fucked up concept I agree, but its there... Hillary Clinton can win, she just absolutely has to destroy him... exploit any scandal or any angle so that he has zero chance of winning in the general, and then the Supers could select her...

There is a poll on the front page from Gallup that Clinton holds a decent lead over Obama nationally... If she can't win, then that's pretty shocking... If she goes into the Convention with a large lead in polls maybe she has a shot...

Oh and over at drudgereport he's got a story claiming 20% of dems will defect to McCain if they're guy/girl doesn't get the nod...

This primary season has ruled for McCain...

I've seen multiple stories of McCain defending Obama, from chastising the guy for repeatedly using "Hussein," to telling Hannity that Obama doesn't hold Wright's views, and even suspending a staffer for posting a video linking Obama to Wright. Of all the people, he could be the one who comes out of the nominating process looking like the "new politics" candidate.

States & elections won with 60% or more of the vote:

Barack Obama: 15 States + DC + VI
* Virgin Islands (89.9%)
* Idaho (79%)
* Hawaii (76%)
* Alaska (75%)
* District of Columbia (75%)
* Kansas (74%)
* Washington (68%)
* Nebraska (68%)
* Minnesota (67%)
* Colorado (67%)
* Georgia (67%)
* Illinois (65%)
* Virginia (64%)
* Maryland (62%)
* North Dakota (61%)
* Wyoming (61%)
* Mississippi (61%)

Hillary Clinton: 1 State
* Arkansas (70%)

Hillary can't win?

Sure she can.

Just as long as the folks in Arkansas are the only ones who get to vote.

Sorry? Wot's that? "Nationwide", you say?

Even Hawaii gets to vote? Wow, that's progressive!

Well, okay then...

Now Spud doesn't imagine Hill has a chance in Hell.

Be Well.

PS: LOL

Be Well.

That's it exactly Live, I've noticed that too. I've heard recently that if Obama wins 17% of the Clinton supporters will go to McCain, if Clinton wins 20% of Obama supporters will go to McCain.

McCain is coming out smelling like roses defending Obama, as Clinton does her best to make Obama look unelectable so she can satisfy her ego.

This would make a good movie. I think McCain has a good chance of winning!

Obama camp wants to cry foul at Fox News for playing the Wright videos. Hell why don't they just straight out scream RACISM!

Oh yeah, also no other networks played the videos I guess.

child predator?

FREDO

Funny, but the statements about Hiroshima, Nagasaki, etc. were being READ by Rev. Wright from a TRANSCRIPT of a FoxNews interview with Amb. Edward Peck.

3:15 into this video:

www.youtube.com

Only FoxNews would air a select a quote from their own show and insinuate those words came from someone else. THAT'S audacity!! And not of hope.

Oh snap!!!

Will the media pick on that little tidbit??

So now, even the Rev. Wright crap isn't going to stick too well??????

I think even right wingers would have to admit that BArack Obama plays politics good!!!
He is to politics what Michael Jordan was to basketball. Come on folks, just a few short years ago he was a State Senator, now he is the most probable next president. I woulda thought the black folks woulda least left us one sport, but no!!!!
The gotta go take politics too!
Damn them!

Both BO and HC need the superdelegates to win, and SDs can vote any way they want. So the question is how do they vote.

Danni - the big O is not black, he's mocha, just like Tiger Woods and Lewis Hamilton. And, if those two are any indication, then, yes, Obama has the goods to be a superstar, lol.

If they'd like to be the permanent minority party - as Karl Rove dreamed and schemed of - they'll overturn the will of the voters.

Hillary lose? I'll believe it when I see it. The smearing of Obama is not over.

"Hillary lose? I'll believe it when I see it. The smearing of Obama is not over."

Over?....when did this start? Fox News took some quotes from his spiritual mentor and friend fo 20+ years. They show that Obama is either 1.) totally clueless and incompetent in missing the racists comments of his friend or 2.) a racist himself.

At some point, Fox News and Rove will smear Obama, that has not occured yet.

Jacque, it's looking like the 'good rev' was quoting fox news, did you miss that part?

Rcade--I agree with you that if the stats were reversed for Obama and Hillary--they would be telling Obama to drop out.

NOw there are many folks telling Hillary to drop out--but she is holding steady.

Then there are folks talking like the SD's should make their vote known on June 4th or 7th? And have this decided before they go to the convention.

But the SD's don't have to vote until the convention August 29th. They could split the SD's and not have a candidate with enough delegates--2025.

They run through the vote and no one gets it and then I guess they disappear--people disappear into the back room??

Clinton will not leave/drop out. She will declare herself the come back girl (again) after PA.

First one to blink loses. Neither side is blinking here.

I don't discount anything the Clintons might do. In NY citys Harlem on the night of the primary Obama recieved not one vote. Clinton still has an office there, Hillary is senator and Spitzer the governor was a superdelegate for Clinton. Having said that do you think it out of the question that Bill might have some input with pollsters to "ask the right questions" in the just the right way in order to garner the right response? What is troubling is that what you post flys in the face to reality. Wherever Obama goes he is able to sway the people to his side. We wouldn't even be having this conversation right now if Limbaugh and others didn't persuade thousands in Ohio and Texas to cross party lines and vote for Clinton. Look at how many people that were formerly associated with the Clintons administration and are now supporting Obama. Look at the major players in politics and they are supporting Obama. Most recently is Bill Richardsons endorsement of Obama despite the long history of friendship. When asked about the response from Hillary when he informed her he said they have had better conversations in the past. Hillary is losing on every criteria there is. She is losing on popular vote, delegates, the superdelegates continute to jump ship to Obama the the rest of the primaries are leaning to Obama and in the perception of honesty her numbers are in teh toilet. Gore has not endorsed anyone but those in the know say he likes Obama very much and the same is true of Edwards as well.
