Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

During one of the most difficult periods in the presidency of Bill Clinton, he addressed a group of clerics at an annual prayer breakfast in September 1998 just as the Starr report outlining his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was about to be published. Among those in attendance, was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., who is seen shaking hands with Mr. Clinton in a photograph provided today by the Obama campaign.

Now I gonna do ya like I did Monica!

That does it. I'm sure not gonna vote for Bill Clinton for president.

Come on, politicians meet lots of people. This is an amateurish gaffe on part of the Obama camp.

Dear Pastor [INSERT NAME HERE]: Thank you so much for your kind message. I am touched by your prayers and by the many expressions of encouragement and support I have received from friends across our country. You have my best wishes. Sincerely, Bill Clinton

Spud thinks wot most creepy pre-op Canucks think.

Me thinks Hitlery did this to make 8bama look amateurish.

Wot sez you? Do you own any underoos?

I'm off to my Troupe meeting.

Be Medically Castrated
Spud

Ah yes, shaking hands with Rev Wrong is tantamount to having him for a spiritual guide and close personal "crazy uncle" for 20 years.

Must be an extra-strength batch of Obamaide out there.

Corky,
All kidding aside, why do you think that these Obama guys and gals don't seem to comprehend the difference between an endorsment/handshake/meeting, and a 20 year relationship/mentorship?

I know I've tried to explain it (even though there is absolutely no need to have to explain such an obvious point to the likes of Tax and Tony...they aren't retards), and I know you have as well.

Racism isn't illegal, it just makes its supporters look ignorant.

Corky...I know I've tried to explain it...and I know you have as well. 101

So much for Corky's "liberal cred" on this blog.

Hm... I guess I have no shot at running for political office, what with my dad referring to those "niggers" and how the jews run the world and all. Hell, I lived with the guy for 16 years and I'd still talk to him, even knowing about his racist and anti-jewish-conspiratorial tendencies. Of course, I'd be throwing him "under a bus" if I acknowledged this, right?

This connection to my father must imply that I harbor those same racist tendencies... unless I distance myself from him, no?

Well, how about every asshole in this country? By the logic espoused by the media and the Clinton campaign (and her brain-dead followers and republican opportunists), we're all equally as racist as the scumbags that owned actual Africans pre-1865 because, well, we all came from our fathers and those fathers from their fathers and so on unto our sordid slave-owning, racist ancestry.

Did any of us disown our fathers for being racist or any of our fathers before us?

Sure, some might say "But Apparatchik, that is a strawman because his pastor is not his father... its different". Bullshit I say. We accept and love our parents despite their shortcomings and (speaking as a cold-hearted godless atheist) isn't the Christian thing to do to accept others (and not their views) despite theirs as well? Is is really that inconceivable that Obama could walk away with only the good that is Reverend Wright while rejecting his less acceptable tendencies or is it simply more convenient to believe that nothing positive can come of a man that has racist, anti-American tendencies? I'd like to think that millions of Americans do this every day, take the good, and reject the bad. Isn't that how we progress and evolve as a society?

This whole fiasco proves that politics is merely grown adults acting like children to solve adult problems.

App,
Does somebody need to explain to you the difference between a blood relative such as your father and a person that you actually choose to associate with?

Wipe your chin stupid.

So, Mikey, your 20 year relationship with Chairpoodle, all those hidden moments in dank dark dirty motels rooms and side-alleys are the same as him posting to me??

I think that explains it, 101.

Yo, armchair, did you actually read my post? I address that little bit of stupidity, numbnuts.

I heard last night that the photo op with President Clinton occurred just before a prayer breakfast at which many ministers, priests and rabbis were in attendance. I heard that this was the prayer breakfast at which President Clinton 'confessed' his relationship with Monica Lewinsky and asked for forgiveness. I assume he received it from these men of God.

Reverend Wright happens to be a highly respected member of the clergy, has lectured at many respected insitutions of higher education and I speculate that it was probably his intellectual abilities that were so attractive to Senator Obama. Does that excuse racism in any form from any source? No. But the views that were expressed by Reverend Wright belong to Reverend Wright, not to Senator Obama.

I am surprised that Rev. Wright actually shows up on film.

You didn't address it dummy. You tried to rationalize it, and did a poor job.

You don't choose your parents, you choose your church, you choose your pastor, and you choose to have your children attend those services. Bad judgement all around on Obama's part.

You'll need a beach towel to wipe your chin if you can't grasp that.

Wonder if Obama used to do the wild chimp dance like the other members when Wright spewed is garbage?

Who cares about any of it?

Quit trying to make a big deal of this.

Now I gonna do ya like I did Monica!

lol

I think that's the first thing you ever posted that didn't piss me off.

As usual, though, it needs a correction ... SHE di HIM, not the other way around. :-)

Except for one thing, chair. I he had been attending that church for a LONG time and had developed a PERSONAL relationship with the guy before the guy went bat-shit crazy, then there is a difference between disavowing WORDS vs abandoning a human being with whom you have a personal relationship.

If you can't grasp THAT, then you need to see the wizard about a soul ....

Hating racsim and bein a racist are not the same thing no matter how many times people repeat a lie they are still lying.

Yeah, Spud caught this story last night while skurfin' the nets.

If Helldawg was in the picture Spud mighta done sommat with it but as it is, ...Bill Clinton aint running fer POTUS.

Neither is Jeremiah Wright.

Spud sees Corky is still trying to do his left wing Ann Coulter impersonation.

How predictable, how sad.

Left wing cred? No, Corky is into demerits now.

Be Well.

That comment Obama made about his grandmother being a "typical white person", while probably literally true, was a brain fart almost as bad as McCain's lack of understanding of who the enemy is in Iraq.

Ok maybe not THAT bad.

What this does show is that perhaps the Rev wasn't soo full of hate that he wouldn't meet, smile, and shake hands with the white president?

-Spud sees Corky is still trying to do his left wing Ann Coulter impersonation.

While the artist formerly known as the Tater of Doom is doing his Machiavellian Levi Strauss, NeoCon Reichwing Dick Cheney impersonation, propagating The Big Lie that HRC was somehow behind the Rev Wrong Bimbo Eruption.

'Twere he an honest Tater, he would assign responsibility to his candidate and Obama's choices in political and spiritual guides, instead of losing all credibility by claiming something as fact on this blog without any proof whatsoever.

No one gets away with that around here, not even Canukistanians.

LEON Strauss, lmfao!

I think it's hilarious that whites fiend outrage at something they practice everyday and quite frankly are good at.

ArmChair, ok, I would say that midiman helped make my point regarding close, personal relationships. It has nothing to do with family vs. people you choose to associate with or a lack of good judgement. It has to do with disowning people that are close to you because they say inconvenient and stupid things. I see Obama's condemnation of his pastor's words while standing by him as a sign of strong moral conviction and courage. Others might have walked away and hurt that close personal friend.

And whats with this wiping my chin shit? "Foaming-at-the-mouth"-ism? I'm just calling it like I see it, so piss off.

If his guilt by association is enough to keep him out of the white house, then I'd say Hillary's guilt by association to the Democratic party and McCain's guilt by association to the Republican party is sufficient to keep them out, too.

Those parties have some really bad leaders and being good little lemmings, having no separate thought of their own, commit the same atrocities as their leaders.

That is what we are saying about Obama, right? That he is a lemming and his thoughts and actions are conditional to that of Mr. Wright.

Just look at Congress how they vote on items. In most cases, along party lines - therefore, a bunch of lemmings.

So, since their leaders suck, they are suckers and suckees.

If the relationship started 20 years ago do think the Rev was more or less likely to be angry?
The smart money would be on "more angry".

Excuses don't cut it. Obama showed bad judgement, and when all you have to go one besides hope and change is "judgement" then I guess you're fucked.

OK ... let's say I ultimately agree with you. So what? He's more tolerant than I am? Do you apply the same standard to ALL politicians? PLEASE ....

What bearing does all of this have on legislation and policy?

And PLEASE let's not do the "judgement" thing -NO ... nt from someone who can still support Bush policies.

Watch this video:

youtube.com

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people," he said in a 2003 sermon. "God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

Picture split screen McCain ad. OB sitting in church smiling. Other side Rev W spewing the above.

Good then elect Bush's third term. I have no sons of draft age.

Watch the vid AU posted or stfu.

After watching the entire sermon, in context I see Wright's point about the disparity in how blacks and whites are treated in our criminal 'justice' system.

As to his 9/11 comments, it IS our unbending support of Israel against the Palestinians that have bred 99% of Arab animosity. Do I think we deserved 9/11? Of course not.

Robertson, Falwell, Roberts, and a host of others called it God's wrath for any number of reasons.

I've watched quite a few of Wright's sermons online. I have to say that they took the worst 10 sec. of his entire career. Listening to the others, I'd have to say he's mild compared to the fiery Southern Baptist preacher I had as a kid who screamed and pounded the pulpit. Anyone watched Kenneth Copeland lately? He gets all worked up - moreso than Wright.

I'm reposting this video. Do you think the Illinois head of the United Church of Christ (a 99% white denomination) would be a member of Trinity UCC if she had a negative opinion of Wright and the church? Surely if she had a problem with them she'd disassociate herself. The President of the United Church of Christ had nothing but glowing words for Rev. Wright as well.

Typical of the wingnuts to focus on 10 secs and play them for a million minutes. It's all they have.

Does this look like a racist? :

Rev. Jane Fisler Hoffman - white female Conference Minister over 287 UCC IL churches, and member of Trinity Church UCC

Definitely watch the vid AU posted. Then follow it up with this one. Its worth the 9 minutes. Especially starting at about 3 minutes in.

www.youtube.com

Seems that the whole "chickens coming home to roost, bombing Hiroshima" thing wasn't Rev. Wright at all, but actually him reading from a transcript from an interview on Faux News by Amb. Edward Peck.

I hesitate to ask... could some of you have rushed to judgment?

SANANTON

Isn't it something? Here Rev. Wright is READING from a TRANSCRIPT of a FoxNews show with a former U.S. Ambassador and somehow the wingnuts want to say these are Wright's words.

I just watched the video. You're right. Everyone should watch at about 3:00 in.

Perhaps some of our friends should refresh their memories on the 9th Commandment.

Come on, politicians meet lots of people.

And to think that the photo of Bush with Jack Abramoff was so damning that DR cranks were demanding impeachment!

Coupled with a couple hundred visits by Abramoff to the White House, ya

What Fox News didn't show you. Educate yourself. Don't be sheep....or you can expect another 8 years of the same.

Obama voluntarily attended the blacKKK church for TWENTY years - he also subjected his children to that environment. At best, his judgement is WACK.

He attended this church for 'street credibility' - I personally don't believe he holds these extremist views.

His decision has bit him in the ass and he will likely lose the nomination.

To clarify, Barrack has exercised very poor judgement. Persons are foolish to continue to support Barrack.

(It's not a conspiracy of white oppressors).

Back in the '80s-there was a pic taken of dumbball 15 rummybumsfeltup taken with sodomite hussyanus-soes that mean they were butt-buddies?

Frank, the second they start building discount euthanasia parlors, I'm buying you a coupon for "the works".
