I know that Al Qaeda and Iranians differ theologically, and that Iran supports Hezbollah, but I would not doubt at all if they armed and trained Al Qaeda just to stick it to the US.

As a matter of fact, terrorists groups that have nothing to do with each other will get together and have training sessions and talk shop to be better terrorists.

MrFair, that's the point. You (and I) will never know that your neighbor or my neighbor or your co-worker or my co-worker or your brother or my sister stops going to the public library, much less the reason why.

Over time library attendance will be less and less. And maybe sometime in the future our neighbor or co-worker or family member will say something like "I just didn't like the idea that my government could come in and look at what I checked out, so it just wasn't worth it anymore."

We used to be a country where just cause was the bar over which our government had to pass before looking into our private lives.

That bar has been lowered. And no one seems to care.
