Still no tax returns?

On or around 4-15-08

Mmmmmkay.

Day late and a dollar short.

I think the damage has already been done. Withholding these records in the first place just made her look like a secretive person with something to hide. Something that I think people are tired of.

Even the IMPRESSION of secrecy is more than people want.

Now they are only being released under pressure. That doesn't do a damn thing to clear up this image. Even if it did, it wouldn't do much because the impression has already been set.

She should have released everything today and most would have gone un noticed. Yesterday Obama addmitted he lied about the amount Rezco gave him and it went un noticed.

" Day late and a dollar short "

True but the US archives seems to bare some responsibility here don't they have final say so?

Found this quote do not know source or time frame ...
."Clinton's schedule as first lady were given over to the president's representatives for review. That review has been completed. We've given the records back over to the archives. They are now back in the archives' hands. Our say in the process is over, and I assume that they will be releasing them very expeditiously,"

Not sure of process but always better earlier then later. Got this ...

The watchdog group Judicial Watch revealed Wednesday that it is suing for access to documents from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-N.Y.) time as first lady.

The documents include Clinton's daily office diary, her telephone logbook and her schedule

More than a year ago, the group filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, which operated the Clinton Presidential Library records, but did not get access to the documents

"That doesn't do a damn thing to clear up this image. Even if it did, it wouldn't do much because the impression has already been set."

Moonmanfl ... HC seem to get very little benefit of the doubt from many people deserved or not. 11,000 pages coming out... every faction pro/con HC will pick that which is politically expedient for them. That's politics like the process or not.

Hillary is finally gonna release her records?

Wow, that only took months and months of being asked by Obama and others.

Oh, and a couple of lawsuits.

Still, she hasn't released her Healthcare Task Force records nor her Tax returns but Hey with Helldawg you take wot you can get, eh?

Suprrised this isn't a Corky thread.

Be Well.

Still no tax returns?

Be Well.

"The records, some 11,000 pages in all, document nearly all of the meetings, trips, speaking engagements and social activities Clinton engaged in. . ."

Why not all?

What, no transparency?

Oops, what a sooprise.

Where are the tax returns?

The Clinton Library donor list?

C'mon, Hillary, start acting like a woman, not a spoiled little girl.

Tax returns? Isn't she entitled to file by April 15th like all the other citizens of this country? All previous years are public record.

As far as the records from the Whitehouse, don't you remember the microscope those people were under while in the Whitehouse? That is just Obama trying to win with smoke and mirrors.

All previous years are public record.

They are?

How can I see them?

I just assumed they were, or why is Obama only asking for 2007? Thanks for the correction.

They average 3 pages a week because they are under staffed.

"Yesterday Obama addmitted he lied about the amount Rezco gave him and it went un noticed."

You mean sort of like the original $23,500 she reported from Norman Hsu that ultimately became $850,000?

"Still no tax returns"
JOMAMA

Where are McCains tax returns and why isn't the MSM asking?

Doc ... "The records, some 11,000 pages in all, document nearly all of the meetings, trips, speaking engagements and social activities Clinton engaged in. . ."

Why not all?

What, no transparency?

It's Bush's fault that you cannot see all the records either alone or in concurrence with BC

"Where are McCains tax returns and why isn't the MSM asking?"

Me no know!

Obama's supposed to be "above" that sort of thing.

Where are McCains tax returns and why isn't the MSM asking?

----

Probably because McCain is the nominee and the Democratic nominee has not been decided yet.

"All previous years are public record."

Not true.

Executive Order 12667 of January 18, 1989, is revoked ... EXECUTIVE ORDER 13233

(2) When the former President has authorized access to the records:
(i) If under the standard set forth in section 4 below, the incumbent President concurs in the former President's decision to authorize access to the records, the Archivist shall permit access to the records by the requester.
(ii) If under the standard set forth in section 4 below, the incumbent President does not concur in the former President's decision to authorize access to the records, the incumbent President may independently order the Archivist to withhold privileged records. In that instance, the Archivist shall not permit access to the records by a requester unless and until the incumbent President advises the Archivist that the former President and the incumbent President agree to authorize access to the records or until so ordered by a final and nonappealable court order.

GB's executive order gives any current president the power to halt the release of former pres. records even if the former pres. has no objection.
GB has used this order to halt the release of records from RR, and GHWB's archives, what's he scared of.

If anything is missing from the HC release of records there are only 2 possibilities. GB and BC agree to withhold a number of records or ONLY GB put a hold on the records and BC requested the release.

Hillary Clinton spent the night in the White House on the day her husband had oral sex with Monica Lewinsky, and may have actually been there when it happened, according to records of her schedule released today by the National Archives.

SAR ... never mind I'm too new here ...

"Hillary Clinton spent the night in the White House on the day her husband had oral sex with Monica Lewinsky, and may have actually been there when it happened, according to records of her schedule released today by the National Archives."

That is exactly the trash that Obama was looking for. I only THOUGHT he was a pig before...

Now, where are those tax records?

How exactly does Obama figure into that? Besides, Shillary's doing a fine job of making herself look desperate.

Those records show that she actively participated and pushing NAFTA through Congress.

And the first thing to make this board is how she may have been in the whitehouse at the time? I don't buy that Obama wants the Nafta records...we all know she voted for it and pushed it through.

I don't buy it either, and that's not the point of the thread. The point of the thread is how she's just now releasing what was expected a long time ago, ala Bush-Cheney style.

Stall until you can no longer stall. And I don't buy the BS excuse that she can't produce tax returns from year before last because she's "too busy".

Something makes me doubt that Shillary does her own taxes.

FYI...If you have the time

Don't wait for or believe what some right/left wing nut media types tells you, check it out for yourself.

Way to be forthright, Hillary

She was also involved in helping her husband win congressional approval of the North American Free Trade Agreement, a deal she now criticizes and says she would try to change.

Her schedule for Nov. 10, 1993, shows her speaking at a NAFTA briefing closed to the media, with 120 people expected to attend. There are several more references to her work on NAFTA, but the details are blacked out.

Nice... She pulled a fast one on ya Ohio.. what say you Pennsylvania? Is it time we get those Tax Returns and Foundation Donations yet? Or will they drop out first?

Taxman if you are refering to 11-10-93 as that is the only date I've seen listed on news reports, your statement does not apply to that date. She made introductory remarks at the drop by briefing scheduled to be there 15 mins.

It (NAFTA)came into effect on January 1, 1994

Earlier accounts might agree with you, from the schedule...

11-10-93

11:30 am- NAFTA BRIEFING DROP BY
11:45am Room 450, OEOB

Participants: Approx 120 expected to attend

AU that's redactions of items on the pages not full pages, and that was the chioce/job of the archives.

"According to the archives statement, 4746 of the schedules have reductions, information removed before being released, that largley relate to privacy concerns including Social Security and telephone numbers and home"

"It wasn't a drop-by it was organized around her participation," said one attendee. "Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. Folks were pleased that she came by. If this is a still a question about what Hillary's position when she was First Lady, she was totally supportive if NAFTA.

That first attendee recalls that the First Lady's office in the East Wing put together "the invitation list, who was invited authorizations and all that stuff."

And what is this attendee's response to Clinton today distancing herself from NAFTA? "For people who worked hard to pass NAFTA and who support the importance of markets opening for the economy in the long term, they're very upset. A number of the women who were there are very upset. You need to have some integrity in your position. The Clintons when Bill Clinton was president took a moderate position on trade for Democrats. For her to repudiate that now seems pretty phony."

Recalls a second attendee, "they were looking for women in international trade who supported NAFTA. Senator Clinton came by at the end. And of course she asked for our support and help in passing NAFTA."

Probably find lots of money donations from Mexico, Monica Lewinsky pay stubs, Chinese donations, Bill's tab at McDonald's and lots of money trails from overseas.
