Bill Clinton"s reentry into the political arena appears to have come at some cost to his legacy. New polling suggests that his involvement in the battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has tarnished his image, the Politico reports. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Thursday found that more Americans view Bill Clinton negatively than positively, 45 to 42 percent. It marked the first time since January 2002 that a plurality of Americans disapproved of the former president.

I said early on that it would be difficult to walk a fine line between being a former President and leader of the party, and supporting his spouse as a candidate.

Unfortunately, he did a very poor job of it and came across to many Americans as too partisan, and too dismissive of another candidate in his own party.

Bill does a lot of good stuff around the world for charity and relief efforts. He needs to get back to that ASAP to restore his image.

Campaign Hurts Bill Clinton's Rep

The best thing that could happen to improve Bill C's shredded reputation (if he ever indeed had one)is if he got devoured by wild dogs in the Australian outback while on safari.

He'd immediately improve in my book.

Bill's rep is being hurt by Hill's Rovian Campaign tactics?

Naturalment!

Of course this tragic-comedy, that is the ClintCo campaign, is hurtin' Bill's ability to get laid too.

But he's got to keep doing wot Shrillary sez otherwise she will never open up her purse and give Bubba his balls back.

Such a quandry fer the first black preZ.

Be Well.

This is fantastic news. Bill Clinton was an overrated president. Last minutes pardons? Stolen furniture from the White House? Affairs in office?

Why was he ever respected in the first place? After several racial gaffes the Clintons have completely lost the support of the black community nationwide which really sucks for Bill, the nations first "black" president. Can't wait for the Clintons to disappear into historical insignificance after Obama takes out Hill.

I am annoyed by him to say the least.

Can you imagine what he would be like if he was the first "First Man"?

Insufferable comes to mind...

Why does everyone beat a dead horse? herm

We can look forward to seeing his tax returns for the past six years, and the list of donors to his Library, can't we? Or can we?

That's going to be something of an eye-opener.

Isn't this an oxymoron?

"Isn't this an oxymoron?"

Very much so. To suggest that Bill Clinton has any sort of a respectful reputation is laughable.

Highest popularity rating in the history of mankind!

Why was he ever respected in the first place?

Winning two wars, balancing the budget (running a surplus in fact)and putting his WTC terrorists in jail, not pakistan, will do that for a guy. Which is why Dubya is pretty well at the same level of support as those who've been claiming to have been abducted by aliens.

I think the GOpers were angriest about Clinton breaking up the lucrative selling of weapons to Iran set up by Reagan and managed by Bush1.

"It marked the first time since January 2002 that a plurality of Americans disapproved of the former president."

Huh? Where were they polling Berkeley?
