My favorite line though was about Rush saying Americans didn't want to watch their President turn into an old lady.

To which Fey retorted, "Republicans didn't seem to mind when that happened to Ronald Reagan!"

My favorite part is the snarky comment that women are voting for Obama cause Oprah says so. I bet those ladies appreciate that.

How low has the Hillary campaign slipped when she has to go to an unfunny skit comedy show to do her campaigning for her?

How much did she have to pay for it?

Tina Fey is HOT.

HRC is NOT.

ObamaRama!

Paranoia Flag

"Bitches Get Things Done"

Sure do. Nice girls finish last -- not to mention they have less fun.

Why anybody (except Corky) would take this skit as an endorsement of Hillary escapes me.

Fey had a point, and it was one of their better shows.

Yeah, Sit, I must be whoever wrote "Tina Fey endorses Obama" above the vid clip.

But then, that musta escaped you, too.

that musta escaped you, too.

So Corky found another idiot with a blog.

Here's the clip without the commercial.

www.youtube.com

This video clip was an endorsement of Hillary. I thought it was funny. "Bitch" was used in this video clip in a complimentary way.

How come everyone swoons and looks at it as positive character traits whenever a male politician is described as an "aggressive, commanding, authoritative, in charge, take control" kind of guy.

But when a woman has those same traits (all needed, by the way, to be the leader of a country) those same traits are all lumped into one word to describe her: Bitch

I see a double standard here.

I'm not sure you even need "aggressive, commanding, authoritative..." etc. Smart and successful are often enough.

These days it's pretty standard for academic job recommendations to include a paragraph about all job candidates' "collegiality." Many years ago when I was applying for the first time, though, the (male) faculty members writing letters for me used to joke about the "And she's not a castrating bitch" paragraph they had to write for their women students.

Sylvia Earle sure got things done at Tektite.
I've heard her called the "Cast Iron Bitch."
But then there have been many women who took care of business.

Google "Achtung! Litvak!"

Thanks, Oz.

Boy, Corky and the love fest of hillary is not reaching to the bottom of the barrel.

What next? The low budget tabloids? The fallen liar and cheat hillary is going down faster than she can lower her standards.

Moneywar,

Your comment about Hillary simply put is stupid.

Why not create your third thread for this thing? It makes your hillary support look so very very smart.

Perhaps you should, then at least something would make you look smart..... well, smarter.

Clinton says Saturday Night Live makes her case of press bias

Published: Monday February 25, 2008

Sen. Hillary Clinton blames some of her presidential woes in part on unfair press coverage but said she believed Obama had come under increased media scrutiny in recent days.

On Sunday, she urged donors to watch the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured a skit mocking last Thursday's CNN debate as little more than a love fest for Obama.

"People are starting to say, 'Hey, you know, we've got two candidates. We've been a little more focused on one than the other in terms of asking hard questions. Let's start looking at both of them. The voters of this country deserve to have a real election,'" she said.

In the SNL skit, a fake Senator Obama says,"Oh, my god! I'm so nervous. I still can't believe I'm actually talking to you."

A parodied Univision reporter, panelist Jorge Ramos says, "As you know, uh, Senator, as I explained in the letter that I duct-taped to your front door--and I'm sorry that it went on so long. I just, uh, I just really, really, really, really, really want you to be the next president. And not just because you're a fantastic human being and the only person who can turn this nation around, but, you know, also because deep down I really and truly believe that it is destiny that you and I will one day be together. That you will become a part of me, and I a part of you. Joined as one."

While not sparing either contender entirely, Saturday Night Live took an opportunity to humorously suggest a pro-Obama bias among those conducting Thursday's CNN debate, at the University of Texas, between major Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL).

The entire sketch, available below, aired on NBC's Saturday Night Live on February 23, 2008.

I'll try to find a working vid... here's the transcript

SNL: TINA FEY WEEKEND UPDATE COMMENTARY

FEY: And finally, the most important Women's News item there is, we have our first serious female presidential candidate in Hillary Clinton.
And yet, women have come so far as feminists, that they don't feel obligated to vote for a candidate just because she's a woman.

Women today feel perfectly free to make whatever choice Oprah tells them to.

Which raises the question, why are people abandoning Hillary for Obama?

Some say that they're put off by the fact that Hillary can't control her husband, and that we would end up with co-presidents.

Cause that would be terrible, having two intelligent, qualified people working together to solve problems. Ugh.

Why would you let Starsky talk to Hutch? I wanna watch that show, Starsky.

You know, what is it, America? What is it, are you weirded out that they're married?

Cause I can promise you that they are having exactly as much sex with each other as George Bush and Jeb Bush are.

Then there is the physical scrutiny of her physical appearance.

Rush Limbaugh, the Jeff Conaway of right wing radio, said that he doesn't think America is ready to watch their president quote "turn into an old lady in front of them." Really?

They didn't seem to mind when Ronald Reagan did that.

Maybe what bothers me the most is that people say that Hillary is a bitch.

Let me say something about that: Yeah, she is.

And so am I and so is this one. (pointing to Amy Poehler)

POEHLER: Yeah, deal with it.

FEY: Know what? Bitches get stuff done.

(Amy says yeah and starts nodding her head, together they get in a rhythm, with Amy saying in response, more yeahs, uh huhs, with a 'you go girl' style)

Like back in grammar school,

they could have had priests teaching you but, no,

they had those tough old nuns who slept on cots

and who could hit ya and you HATED those bitches

But at the end of the school year

you sure KNEW the capital of Vermont!

So COME ON Texas and Ohio

Get on board, it's not too late!...

BITCH IS THE NEW BLACK!

They haven't stopped this vid yet!

Why anybody (except Corky) would take this skit as an endorsement of Hillary escapes me.

....it most certainly is .
What is wrong with Corky bringing this to DR attention?

The debate vid points out what Corky says about the out right adulation and pass being given to Obama....Corky apparently isn't the only one that has spotted it...eh?

Vote for Hillary because she is a bitch?

Been hearing that argument for a while now, actually.

The argument against Hillary isn't that she's a woman, her tenacity (or bitchiness, if you prefer) isn't the reason either, in fact, in some folks eyes that's a plus, as Tina Fey's sketch tells us. Bill along as a "two fer" is certainly a negative in some folks eyes and a positive in others so that's not it either.

The real reason Hillary Clinton is being rejected by the larger number of voters is because people rightfully see her as being an agent of the status quo masquerading as an agent of change.

She is also the single most polarising and divisive figure in this race. She has high unelectables on both sides of the aisle and in the independent camp as well. That means she might actually lose an election to John McCain and that would simply be unnacceptable.

Bush/Clinton/Clinton/Bush/Bush is the last five terms. To go Clinton this time out is to suggest a monarchal urge within America's democratic process that is prolly unhealthy and definitely unwise.

That sed it was a quasi funny sketch.

Starsky and Hutch?

Yer killing me over here, Tiner.

GObama.

Be Well.

-as being an agent of the status quo masquerading as an agent of change.

She will bring the troops home and sign legislation for public financing of elections.

This status quo myth is bullshit.

-has high unelectables on both sides of the aisle and in the independent camp as well.

Obama will have at least the same negatives after months of outragious GOP Swiftboating.

Also, McCain is much more accomplished as a Reformer, and at working across the aisle, which Indies will take into account along with McCain's obvious advantage in military affairs.

"The Bitch Is Back"

CChris...I COULD have gone along time without seeing that . What a flame.

Hee hee. Right on, Aggie. Tina Fey looks good with or without the geeky glasses. See also
deadon.files.wordpress.com

It was a good skit, and Tina - who is largely responsible for keeping SNL worth watching for the past decade - makes the same Hillary points that my wife makes (a little more aggressively, but still...)

I have no problem with SNL getting a few digs in against Obama. Anybody in a position of power is going to be fair game for comedy - as it should be. Get a thick skin and jump in.

That said, I'm voting for Obama.
