Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, February 23, 2008

Hillary Clinton slammed rival Barack Obama on Saturday for campaign leaflets on her health-care plan that she called "blatantly false" and accused him of using Republican tactics in their contest for the Democratic U.S. presidential nomination. "Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton said, speaking to reporters after a rally in Ohio, a state that is key to her struggling campaign. Obama defended the leaflet as accurate and campaign spokesman Bill Burton decried Clinton's "negative campaign."

[...] Hillary Clinton has made statements unequivocally trumpeting NAFTA as the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Buffalo News reports that back in 1998, Clinton attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and thanked praised corporations for mounting "a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA." Yes, you read that right: She traveled to Davos to thank corporate interests for their campaign ramming NAFTA through Congress.

On November 1, 1996, United Press International reported that on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Clinton "touted the president's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region."

The Associated Press followed up the next day noting that Hillary Clinton touted the fact that "the president would continue to support economic growth in South Texas through initiatives such as the North American Free Trade Agreement."

In her memoir, Clinton wrote, "Senator Dole was genuinely interested in health care reform but wanted to run for president in 1996. He couldn't hand incumbent Bill Clinton any more legislative victories, particularly after Bill's successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA."

Yes, we are all expected to just forget that, so that Hillary Clinton's campaign can manufacture supposed "outrage" that anyone would say she supported NAFTA - all at a time her chief strategist, Mark Penn, simultaneously heads a firm that is right now pushing to expand NAFTA into South America.

What a total insult to America's intelligence"

www.huffingtonpost.com

If Clinton was going to take this thing negative, why did she waste the Texas debate? Her strategy here makes no sense.

Exactly.

Unique among the contenders for the presidential nominations, Barack Obama has raised the issue of US job loss from US corporations moving operations abroad in order to lower their labor costs and, thereby, boost profits. Obama proposed a lower tax rate for US companies that maintain or increase their US workforce relative to their overseas workforce.

Obama's concern is shared by Ralph Gomory, one of America's most distinguished mathematicians and co-author with William Baumol, past president of the American Economics Association, of the most important book on trade theory in 200 years, Global Trade and Conflicting National Interests. Gomory has pointed out that corporations break the link between their interests and America's interest when they offshore their production for US markets. By producing abroad, they raise foreign GDP and lower US GDP. By producing abroad, they raise the productivity of foreign labor and lower the productivity of US labor. By producing abroad, they increase the productivity capabilities and trade position of other countries at America's expense.

The US has serious economic problems and cannot afford to continue to pile up debts and to sell off its assets to pay its bills. David Walker, head of the US Government Accountability Office, has put the unfunded liabilities of the US government (principally Social Security and Medicare benefits) at between $50 and $60 trillion. Official statistics show no growth in real median family incomes in many years. The dollar's value has declined dramatically in relation to other traded currencies. The United States simply cannot afford to stand by blindly while its corporations shift US GDP growth to China, India, and elsewhere abroad.

The unfunded liabilities of the US government amount to $500,000 per American household. As no more than one or two percent of American households can come up with this kind of cash, the US government is essentially bankrupt. The bankruptcy will worsen as offshoring moves more US GDP abroad while simultaneously raising the trade deficit and indebtedness of the country.

American hubris produces gigantic delusion not only among the people and the politicians but also among the economists. President Obama and his Secretary of the Treasury, Ralph Gomery, are our last best hopes.

Excerpted from Paul Craig Roberts @Counterpunch

The bitch is back!

Did she go somewhere?

Well nutcase if we sell them bonds, and they are wroth less due to currency crosses, then the US did well dumping them into frgn. hands!

As for NAFTA, I don't see that as the problem, nor the solution. Obama's idea of tax credits favoring domestically produced goods is an excellent idea! And something the house and senate should work towards producing!

You people deserve the government you get. I don't hear any of you talking about Obomba's failure to attend the Black State of the Union in Lousiana. He got their votes, so now he turns his back because he says he's too busy campaigning. Hillary accepted the invitation because I guess she's not as busy. Enjoy your empty suit, it goes with the empty heads voting for this pandering jackass.

Bye golly Obama....NOW THAT is what I call "Swift Boating" the Billary beast !

At least the Beast shows up for votes and the people she vowed to help. Your guy turns them down in Louisiana and won't attend the Black State of the Union. That's the thank you they got for their votes and that's the thank you you'll will get if this guy gets into office.

I don't hear any of you talking about Obomba's failure to attend the Black State of the Union in Lousiana.

Did you know that Sen. Barack Obama didn't attend the Black State of the Union in Lousiana.

Feel better.

President Obama and his Secretary of the Treasury, Ralph Gomery, are our last best hopes.

That's nuts. I hear that line all the time. Voters looking for an honest man. He's a politician. Oh how nice they are, loaded with a barrel of promises - until they get into office. Every fucking election, the voters fall for the same bullshit.

You people deserve the government you get. I don't hear any of you talking about Obomba's failure to attend the Black State of the Union in Lousiana. He got their votes, so now he turns his back because he says he's too busy campaigning. Hillary accepted the invitation because I guess she's not as busy.

If you had two brain cells to rub together you might be dangerous. So Obama should drop his campaigning to go to the Tavis Smiley Corporate Sell-Out convention? What if he did? Then you'd bitch that he was pandering to blacks, you ignoramous.

We get it: You don't like Obama. You ignore all his positions and policies and you ignore that he's been right moreso than any other candidate when he opens his mouth and puts his personal integrity on the line. Obama showing up for Tavis' dog and pony show sponsored by ExxonMobil makes as much sense as him showing at your next crossburning. Of course the corporate shill Hillary wouldn't miss it for the world! Thems are her peeps!

Your buddies disagree with you, Tony:

Today we find Barack Obama skipping out again. You know, like he did on Kyl-Lieberman, as well as the vote on MoveOn.org when they were taking fire on their General Petraeus ad. He's skipping the annual State of the Black Union forum in New Orleans so he can campaign. Besides, why should Mr. Obama feel pressured to attend a forum about his own community, especially when he believes there will be no consequences. After all, he ducked out on MoveOn.org when they needed him, but they endorsed him anyway.

www.huffingtonpost.com

Seems Obama takes everyone for granted.

Headline should read: "Billary Goes Berserk."

Obama explained his present votes. He votes present when he's in doubt he'll get it Right becaue there are either other things in the bills or he doesn't have adequate information to make a decision.

I don't know how he reconciles that explanation with his response in the debate the other night when he was asked about his vote for the fence that he now thinks might not have been the RIGHT vote.

What a joke.

the last thing this Obama guy is ever going to bring to anyone is "Dignity".

Dignity isn't something government GIVES you, rather, as history has proven over and over again it's something they take AWAY.

All these petty social engineer tyrants make me want to puke.

All of them.

Agreed... as soon as little pric* (that didn't know how to veto until '06) gets the flame out of office.

And Billary going big neg should pile up a buncha votes... NOT !

Shut up hillary you vile, wretched, evil pathetic, excuse for a human being. You and your husband. Yours is a vanilla marriage if there ever was one.
You gloated and praised about NAFTA when it happened and you've said health insurance should be law like auto insurance. You trip over your own lies because you have no character, no self respect and no morals. YOU are the reason your campaign is in flames. The candidate is a dismal failure and the American public that you and your "husband" deem so stupid are awakening to your pathetic lies.
I'm enjoying seeing the democratic party turn against you two. Talk about prison break. Seeing them turn you two into nothing is making millions of people happy.
Goodbye to the clintons.

Blah, blah, fucking blah... moron. I don't know where you're from but the USA is a big, BIG country. Why would a politician spend (waste) time hanging around with people who are already backing him? Totally stupid strategy. I'm sure the ppl of the BSU of L are well aware of the neccessity of having their man out there in the hot spots getting his message accross, getting those votes, collecting those delegates. Or do you think they're all as stupid as you are?

I once donated $15 to the Republican Party, it was Bush I v. Clinton I. Know what they did with my measly 15 bucks? Sent me easily $100 worth of glossy brochures over the months leading up to the election. They knew they already had my vote! WHY bother preaching to me? Totally turned me off and guess what, I voted Clinton that time. (Ok, Bush's campaign turned me off and revealed him as a real empty suit, but my donation had come early in the process...)

Oh, forgot, the Hillarity campaign is in it's death throes if it thinks this BS "outrage" is gonna fly...

Obama's idea of tax credits favoring domestically produced goods is an excellent idea! And something the house and senate should work towards producing!

I dig the reward for positive action angle, it's good and it's refreshing. That was my suggestion for curbing environmental irresponsibility. Reward GOOD behavior, make it lucrative to do the right thing.

But I'd also tax the living shit out of any "US" products entering the ports that were produced anywhere other than the US. I'm not always so nice, but I'm glad Obama seems to knows what he's doing. Hope it ain't all campaign hubris.

He's got my vote this time, though.

She does crocodille tears much better.

Crocs have better thighs.

Where's Bill?
Did the campaign send him to Boys' Town in Juarez until the primaries are over?

TeeHee, the Bro is gonna shove this right up the Ho's ample ass, wait and see.

He ain't no Boy!

Over take-out meals and late-night drinks, some regrets and recriminations have set in, and top aides have begun to face up to the campaign's possible end after the Texas and Ohio primaries on March 4. Engaging in hindsight, several advisers have now concluded that they were not smart to use former President Bill Clinton as much as they did, that "his presence, aura and legacy caused national fatigue with the Clintons," in the words of one senior adviser who spoke on condition of anonymity to assess the campaign candidly.
www.huffingtonpost.com

Probably the greatest single truth of the fiasco that's the Billary campaign.

Unlike Clinton's pamphlets passed out in Iowa and NH which had patently false information, Obama's pamphlets say just what happened - that Clinton was for NAFTA when Bill was pushing it through.

Desperate times call for desperate measures for Clinton it seems.

After all, he ducked out on MoveOn.org when they needed him, but they endorsed him anyway.

Gee, a politician concentrating on campaiging during a heated campaign, wow, that's really scandalous!

You all assume that people, his hardline supporters, just want to have their egoes stroked! Maybe they want him out there working his skinny ass off on their behalf? That's where he belongs.

Who knew the anti-christ would be a black man from Illinois?

they were not smart to use former President Bill Clinton as much as they did,...

Personally, I hadn't realized just how completely unattractive and almost psychotic Bill had become over the years. He's a caricature of the man that was in the White House and an obvious anchor around Hillarity's neck.

Not that I'm complaining.

"a black man from Illinois"

Actually he was born in Hawaii, he moved to Ill after college. After having visited that state a few times, I must reflect the abbreviation is appropriate.

Bella--Bill was always that way--and worse.

What is "a vanilla marriage"?

She did like NAFTA--crazy stuff from the Clinton campaign.

We may be witnessing this thing going up in flames between now and end Teusday March 4th.

She will then root for McCain and try again in four years.

Murphy

BELLASPAPA -

Couldn't agree with you more. There was a time when Bill seemed okay (barely and with reservations). (In fact, I never thought of him as a Democratic president because of that DLC bullshit.) But he squandered it. And, as you say, wow, has he ever gone psychotic. In this campaign he's succeeded in doing what's damn near impossible: a former president making himself look worse after leaving office than he ever appeared in office. Bill Clinton is an embarrassment.

Not to worry about Hill,anybody....Hillary has a bright future, even if she never becomes president....

After all this excitment about whose universal health care does or doesn't require people to have insurance, you know....do you think either of them could successfully implement it?

Amen. When the clintons get thrown out it will be the happiest day of my political junkie life.

It's so great to see folks turn on a guy who, several months ago, would have been their "hero". It's even better to see that same guy have a meltdown because his wife is running for president and he wants to be first lady really, really bad.

Thank you, Democrats.

Compared to the Republicans, you guys are at each other's throats.

All that is left is for the real Republican bomb to explode, and the fun will have started.

Well yes McCain has a lot of baggage, hopefully he will carry Arizona.

P.S. And dear God please let Huckabee choke on squirrel tonight. Thank you God.

P.P.S. And one more thing God. Could you make Monica give Bill another bj?

Hillary applauded NAFTA when willy brought it to us! NAFTA helped ruin this country! Hillary could make it worse if she got elected.

I just got back from the Obama speech in Akron tonight. Not because I am 100% for him. But because I believe he is our next president. Obama is our best choice. Hillary has no chance! Hillary is my last vote.

Those who doubt Obama's authenticity are on solid ground. But consider the alternatives?????? 100 years in Iraq????? Continued outsourcing is a fucking disaster supported by most Republicans and Democrats, just like their steadfast refusal to enforce existing immigration law. Even Obama is onboard for that shit.

I've always considered Nader, Paul and Kucinich to be outstanding examples of honest politicians. Notice they occupy different positions on the left right scale yet all three objected to NAFTA.

What is most important and evident in both Reagan's and Clinton's Presidencies, is MEASUREMENT coupled to educated policy adjustment. This is what the dumbfuck running our country is oblivious to. No matter what happens he just keep repeating the same fucking mistakes over and over and over and over..................ad naseum. Its uniquely unfucking believable.

I don't hear any of you talking about Obomba's failure to attend the Black State of the Union in Lousiana. He got their votes, so now he turns his back because he says he's too busy campaigning.

Yes, because we all know the African-American establishment has backed Obama from the get-go, never questioning his "blackness" or referring to his rival's husband as the "first black president".

Obama has garnered African-American support despite the leaders in the black community, not because of.

The last thing Obama needs to do is solidify himself as the "Black Candidate" and attach himself to the divisiveness that is Sharpton, Farrakhan and Jackson.

Tavis should be ashamed for doing the Republican leg work.

Billary is toast.

We have to wait until March for them to have the reality smack them in the face.

Sen Clinton deserves ALL the heat she gets for not only NAFTA, but also the Trade Status with China. If NAFTA was bad (as the old twat points out now), she should have stopped it when she & Bill took office, they had a DEM majority .... WTF Over??

Also, China's trade status with the U.S. went strait ti HIGHLY FAVORABLE under Her 1st set of terms in office .... again, WTF Over??

You know, Sen Clinton sure likes to make very loud claims about "35 yrs of service" ... & in THIS campaign, her husband flat out said he discussed all decisions with Hillary as 1st lady (like she was some elected official) & Hillary herself has tried like hell to take credit for any/all good that happened during her/Bill's presidency, well guess what lady, they you better pony-up & eat that shit burger of NAFTA & the trade status with China.

I would be happy with an Obama presidency, I would also be very much OK with a McCain win, my preference from the start would have been Biden ..... but no freakin' way will I vote for Hillary. She make W look like an saint.

If Clinton was going to take this thing negative, why did she waste the Texas debate? Her strategy here makes no sense.

Far too canny a pol is Hil to openly go negative at an event where she had when she still has surrogate lackeys willing to fall on their own swords for her in that regard.

Use last minute negative mailers, allow radio to get a litle broader, smile a lot on teevee. Do a lot of point point clap clap at events.

That was the plan. Hil's invitabilty.

She had all the toys on her side of the sandbox when this uberlong campaign started but Obama's momentum seems to be taking them away one by one.

* Spud prepares mass quantities of popcorn. *

Woo Hoo.

Be Well.

Well, hell's bells, I could have told them that weeks ago and I wouldn't have charged Hillary a million bucks:

Clinton, Obama Debate in Texas

I think one thing Hillary didn't count on was Clinton fatigue. I don't think she realized that some Dems have it too.

Well, hell's bells, I could have told them that weeks ago and I wouldn't have charged Hillary a million bucks.

You did tell 'em. They just didn't listen. Gal T's ahead of the media curve? Quelle surprise. Good eye Gal, by the way

Hil and Bill tried a kinda good cop bad/ cop thing in the media and it failed, spectacularily.

Clinton Fatigue is all too real, all too prevelant and all too obvious. Well, in hindsight to the chattering classes of the MSM certainly).

Hillary seems less and less inspired and inspiring lately. Maybe like Lili Von Schtupp in Blazing Saddles she's "tired of being admired"?

I'm tired,
Tired of playing the game
Ain't it a crying shame
I'm so tired
God dammit I'm exhausted

Luff that movie.

Be Well.

Hillary's ridiculous boast about 35 years of experience takes her from the day she graduated from law school to this moment. If she opposed NAFTA when her husband signed it, she was awfully quiet about it. She wants credit for Bill's weird presidency, then she gets to shoulder blame as well. That's what you get, being the Enabler-in-Chief. Let's see how Ohio likes NAFTA.

THE DESPERATION OF HILLARY
by Savid Sirota

This is just so utterly silly and insulting. Yes, Hillary Clinton is saying "shame on you" to those who point out the historical record showing she strongly supported NAFTA.

Oh, and I love this:

"Bill Clinton has told me personally that Hillary was not in favor of Nafta when it passed,'' Strickland, 66, said on Bloomberg Television's ``Political Capital With Al Hunt,'' airing this weekend."
Ah, I see. Despite Hillary Clinton's public praise for NAFTA, we are now supposed to believe that no, she really opposed it, because in recent days as Hillary's campaign has tanked, Bill Clinton personally told Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland that behind closed doors she opposed it.

I know I linked to this yesterday, but I'll link to it again - it is my column this week that documents all the praise she lavished on NAFTA just a few years ago. Here's the key paragraph:

During Clinton's 1996 visit to Texas, United Press International reported that she "touted the president's support for NAFTA." In her memoir, Clinton trumpeted her husband's "successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA." The Buffalo News reports that in 1998 she "praised corporations for mounting 'a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA.'" And last year, her lead Wall Street fundraiser told reporters that Clinton remains "committed" to NAFTA's "free" trade structure.

Yes, the stuff from her memoir and from the Buffalo News are direct quotes. But we are expected to simply ignore that, as Clinton feigns outrage that anyone would ever suggest she supported NAFTA.

How many insults to the American people's intelligence can be hurled in one primary election contest? And how desperate can one candidate get?

www.huffingtonpost.com

NAFTA been an overwhelming positive for this country. If Obama and the Dems want to hasten a worldwide Great Depression, nothing will do it faster than tearing up trade agreements and putting big tariffs on foreign goods.

You liberals are crazy and dumb. Pick up a history book, and learn a little bit about what caused the last Depression.

Somebody actually read her "autobiography"?

From the above quotes, it looks like Hillary didn't
read it.

it looks like Hillary didn't
read it.

Based on the uncredited authorship scandal with It Takes a Village, she probably didn't write it, either.

NAFTA been an overwhelming positive for this country.

That's really not the question raised by this article. The point is, did she or did she not support NAFTA?

Hillary was for NAFTA before she was against it.

just heard a clip where she compares bush to obama....she talked about what she thinks bush did, and then she said....fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.....
and david brooks on meet the press had a great line. he just said in one week she went from emily post to howard beal.........good line.

"went from Emily Post to Howard Beal"

I don't think it is a good line- she has gone back and forth between three or more incarnations of herself from the beginning, "found her voice" after her one narrow victory in New Hampshire, where just enough old Yankees remained a touch sceptical of Obama.

Since then her "voice" has come and gone, and now from "It's an honor" to "Shame on You" in 24 hours.

Her ability to cope with the stress of a campaign is only too telling about her vaunted ability to be "Ready on Day One".

It is a myth.

I AM JUST HAPPY THAT THE CLINTON TRAIN IS A DAMN WRECK SITE OF MAJOR PROPORTIONS! JUST HOPE THAT THE NEXT RIDE THEY TAKE IS THAT OF TRAILER-TRASH THAT BECOME A FOOTNOTE TO AMERICAN POLITICAL HISTORY. THEIR POLITICS, LIKE THEIR SHAM MARRIAGE, IS BASED UPON LIES,LIES AND MORE LIES! OBAMA MAY BE A LIAR AS WELL---ONLY TIME WILL TELL(unless of course the New York Times decides to run a "feature" story on him.)

hdc..if you are new here you wont understand the humor in my next statements but someone will tell you.

Please dont use all caps as the poor puncuation and typing skills really offends me........AAAAHHHHHHHHHHh !!!!!

no, it actually goes something like this.

ahem...cough cough.....mi mi mi mi aha ha hhh ahem
okay ready now.

dear almighty God please allow the MSM to put the truth in somewhere closer than the last page of section D in the next paper as we let the nation know the real hillary is and its not the smiling woman who cries when its helpfull. also dear God almighty allow hussien to keep taking in all that money from big business so that they are fucked if he is elected because it would serve them right. and while you are at it, somehow put a clamp or muzzle on the mouth of one howard dean. he simply doesnt matter anymore so why is he still getting interviews.

"Shame on you".....I just heard the words. Well so much for playing nice, I guess these two won't be teaming up heh?

Whenever she adopts this self-righteous "oh how I've been wounded" stanch it just makes her more unpalatable. Shame, indeed.

Shame is a concept that seems beyond the Clintons.

But here goes ...

Shame on you Hillary for embracing NAFTA when it was "popular" and now saying it needs to be changed. Shame on you for taking credit for everything good that happened in the 90s but taking no responsibility for thing the Clinton administration actually did wrong.

Pathetic.

When that jizz showed up on Monica's blue dress......maybe Hill-arious should have told Bill, "SHAME ON YOU"! Instead she called it a right wing conspiracy.....heck maybe Billy is right handed.....beats me....

Yet, some of you love the Clinton's. Well tool's do have their uses I suppose.

Shame on you Hillary - for lifting the whole "my suffering in life is nothing compared to lots of regular people" shtick at the end of the debate almost verbatim from one of Bill's speeches from (I think) 1992; then having the audacity to accuse Obama of plagiarism; then having the further audacity to make a TV commercial here in Ohio out of her own plagiarism.

Shame on you Obummer, fer falsely attributing quotes to HRC in a mailer on NAFTA.

Oh wait! Big O is a Saint, couldn't happen. Sorry.

Corky will never let the jizz of the Clinton's be found on her.....she simply swallows it all.....no stains for the WhineCork(tm).

It depends on the meaning of "shame". One things for sure...the Clinton's ain't got none.

So is it definitive that corky is a "She" now? I know the question has been batted around a bit.

Either way, I always get a little happy when I see a corky post, I can't really explain it, but watching her fiddle while rome burns somehow amuses me :)

I see that POS poster has to hide behind another of its alternate DR names......Nullifidian....the supreme pussy.

Obama Mailings 'False'?
February 24, 2008

Clinton says Democrats should be "outraged." You be the judge.

Summary

Clinton said "every Democrat should be outraged" at two "false" mailers that Obama sent to voters in Ohio.

We find that a mailer criticizing her position on trade is indeed misleading. One that attacks her health care plan we have previously described as straining the facts, though not exactly "false."
Trade: A mailer showing a locked plant gate quotes Clinton as saying she believed NAFTA was "a boon" to the economy. Those are not her words and Obama was wrong to put quote marks around them. In fact, she's been described by a biographer as privately opposing NAFTA in the White House.

Health Care: A second mailer said Clinton's health care plan "forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it." We have previously said that mailer "lacks context" and strains the facts. But both Obama and Clinton have been exaggerating their differences on this issue.

Hey Ride,

Eat me.
After you and Gus are done with.... what did Jeffy call that, the Rusty Trombone?

I don't know what Jeffy called it WhineCork(tm). I'm sure you can "copy" what someone else has already said though. You are so creative.

Saying "Shame on you" makes her sound like some school marm.

...which is at least less shrill sounding than normal for the Hill-arious one.....

You know what CC...it does drive home the point of how shallow Hill-arious truly is.....more showing of her true colors.....

HA! Ride calling someone else, "shallow!"

roflmfao!! And him the freakin' Queen of that particular end of the gene pool..... hahahaha!

IN other words the WhineCork(tm) is coming apart at the seams since his girl is going to lose. HILL-ARIOUS. ROFLMAO.

OH, so I don't forget. WhineCork(tm) congratulations on your "deep" and racist remarks (that others have pointed out) about Obama. You and the Clinton's---showing your true colors.

Thanks for the link Corkster. Did you read the last paragraph?

"In closing, we'd just note that Clinton is no innocent on sending out misleading mailers. We reported on Feb. 6 that a mailing by her campaign contained a "big distortion" of Obama's position on Social Security taxes and falsely implied that he had "no plan" to address mortgage foreclosures. It also attacked him for voting for a "Dick Cheney" energy bill that gave "huge tax breaks to oil companies," when in fact the bill gave a net tax increase to oil companies."

So what was Clinton complaining about? Oh yeah, NAFTA. Well she apparently was against it, knew it would be a bad deal, but it was politically expedient - a win for the White House.

And that shows leadership?

Have you ever heard that old saying, It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Probably not.

Yeah, Hillary Clinton has been against NAFTA all this time in the Senate & all her time in the WH ..... just like she was against the Mega Corporation like WalMart & their policies while she was on the WalMart board.

Fool you once, shame on them, fool you twice (or 3 or 4 or 10 times) shame on you.

Lets add up some of the big items from this campaign season:

The whole NAFTA bullshit that Hillary is now spouting .... & it IS bullshit.

She has said she didn't vote to authorize Bush to go to war with Iraq, but voted to give him the power to go for further UN sanctions & more inspectors ..... WHAT??? Are you freakin' kidding me. If she didn't think the bill put before congress back in 2002 for the Iraq Resolution wasn't authorizing Bush to use immediate military action in Iraq, she is either a damn fool & should lose her job as a U.S. Senator or she is the dumbest fucking person on this planet. Everyone, EVERYONE, E V E R Y O N E in the freakin' world KNEW what the meaning of that resolution was. Ever single newspaper & news outlet ran with a breaking headline of "WAR IN IRAQ" .... & that was BEFORE congress voted on it.

Sen. Hillary Clinton is selling all of her supporters a WHOLE bunch of White Salmon ..... at least it has that all important guaranteed promise "Never to go Pink" (the older generation set should get that one) :)

Corky will never let the jizz of the Clinton's be found on her.....she simply swallows it all.....no stains for the WhineCork(tm).

and yet another SUTUNNING rebuttal from members of the DR left. it has to make rcade so proud that these kinds of intellectual comebacks just rolls right off the keyboard of all you sensitive, compassionate, and committed to diversity and open minded thinking for all people who call yourselves "progressives".
I am so glad I was able to read this spectular example of stirring debate. It really speaks volumes to me about a lot of issues.

BL2

Interesting that you find Rideon's post sensitive and compassionate.

Typical sample of the BL2 value system.

OVER 50,000 jobs are now gone in Ohio thanks to Billary!!!!!! NAFTA nearly ruined this state! Hillary supported it and now she gets bitchy when Obama mentions it!

Go Obama!

Interesting that you find Rideon's post sensitive and compassionate.

Good that you recognized it as such as well.

But, in actuality it is the WhineCork(tm) that is compassionate to the Clinton's....by swallowing she makes sure there is no stain of evidence, hence they will not be embarrassed more than they already have been. Congrats to the most compassionate one.....the WhineCork(tm).

It's what happens if you post something from Factcheck.org.

The natives get restless.

Clinton's finger pointing and "shame on you" comment is meant to make Obama look like a bad little boy, a silly child. She had better be careful though, because what she may end up doing in the process is making herself look like an overbearing grand/mother. I guess she thinks she is talking tough, but she may be doing serious damage to the image of herself as commander-in-chief.

In addition, the overbearing mother image is going to play right into the Republican meme that the Democrats are the "mommy" party.

The "mommy party" has never entered my Repub mind. The Dem's are the party of illegitimacy, abortion for convenience, over-sexualization of our kids, gay pride, hollywood....and everything else that is contrary to "mommy."

This is excerpted from the fact check.org web site and is used to show she opposed NAFTA. But what is sad is that she disagreed it with it, but went along with it for political reasons.

------------------------------
----
Sally Bedell Smith, Oct. 27, 2007: And Hillary was really prepared to try and kill NAFTA. [Special Trade Representative] Mickey Kantor had to take her out ... behind the White House, sat her down on a bench, and said, we have to go first with NAFTA. We can come back to health care later, but we have to do NAFTA because we need a success and we need a bipartisan success. And he was absolutely right. And what convinced her at the time was not necessarily the merits of NAFTA, but the fact that it was a good political decision.

So, even then, she was not very much in favor of free trade. And so she is consistent. And Bill Clinton continues to be. So, if they were both in the White House together, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of that little fight.
------------------------------
That is the problem! I have no doubt that she and maybe even Bill thought it was a bad deal. But that she supported it for political gain.

One mommy might be a stupid immoral whore. Another might be a self-serving, morally superior bitch.

Pretending to be in the position to judge is where people go wrong.

I think at some point we need to ask ourselves, would we really be better off if NAFTA had not been passed and signed? Would America be better off had we decided to enact protectionist legislation? Is it still possible that we are just now figuring out how to make this work for us? America is great because we can adapt to new situations better than anyone else in the world. When we stop fighting against the inevitable globalization and start embracing it we will, as always, be the greatest nation on Earth.

Who knew the anti-christ would be a black man from Illinois?
