Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

"Why is the press going so easy on Barack Obama?" asks a prominent Democratic Party strategist, echoing a criticism frequently made by the Clinton campaign. It's a fair question, and now that Obama appears to be the front-runner in terms of his delegate count, he deserves a closer look, especially from people like me who have written positively about him.

Too easy? After listening to Matthews' "Obama sends a thrill up my leg" speech, I would think it was "too hard."

The press realizes what a loser Hillary is. Come on! Do you really want a woman that cries when she can't get her own way. She never did a darn thing with Health Care the first time around. She Promised and never delivered.

Obama is believable and the people of the United States agree!

Go Obama!

they are scare.....

Barack Obama is a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan.

Wake up!

Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan.

Wake up!

Because the daughter of the pastor of the Church Obama attends wrote an article in a Church sponsored periodical that seemingly praised Louis Farrakhan people aren't supposed to vote for Obama? WTF?! Barack has decried Farrakhan's positions repeatedly and still this stupid story comes back again and again.

"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan," Obama said in the statement. "I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree

~Barack Obama.

Now grow up.

On Topic?

Press too easy on Obama? Do you watch FOX news? Do you listen to Rush? They freakin' hate him and have slandered him up and down for months now. Joe Klein of time sez he's worried about "Obamaphilia" others have accused him of being like Charles Manson with a cult like following. All of the candidates deserve a closer inspection. None of them are angels by any stretch of the imagination but Hillary and McCain represent the same tired old interests that have nearly bankrupted America to date both financially and morally.

Time to turn the page and write a new chapter in the nation's history.

McCain will just give you BushCo part III
Hillary will give you ClintCo Part III

Aren't folks getting a little tired of sequels?

The MSM give more column inches to Hillary and then excuse themselves for doing so by saying that a lot of that is negative press.

Not talking about a candidate is almost worse than talking trash about a candidate. Ron Paul's campaign for example was largely sunk by an MSM that furiously ignored him at every turn when they weren't openly dismissing him.

Hillary loves to play the victim card while her surrogates play hardball with Barack. Her "the press is too easy on Obama" meme is just another example. Here's a reporter David Igster who has a column in which to be tough on Obama or look at him more closely and what does he chose to do with it? Ask aloud why the press is so easy on Obama? Why not ask a mirror, dude.

Sheesh.

08ama, GObama. Once you Go Barack you never go back.

They're right...

Kind of fun to see a large portion of Democrats crying about media bias...

It sucks doesn't it?

Hey maybe one of the big three nightly news stories will make up a story and base it off false documents made with Adobe Photoshop... then you'll see how bad media bias can really suck.

Ya don't say.

Besides, you mistakenly think that Spud thinks that Barack Obama can do no wrong. That he is a being worth worshipping or sommat. You couldn't be more wrong. None of them are Angels. Barack just happens to be the tallest midget in the room by a couple of feet. Will the MSM attempt to give him his Dean Scream moment? No doubt, been expecting it for a while now. So far though he makes the last Teflon POTUS Raygun look like a piker in terms of any of the shit they've flung at him so far sticking to him.

The black seperatist church story. The Farrakhan thing. The BJ and crack story. The Rezko stuff. None of it has done the slightest amount of damage to the man or his campaign.

Spoken like a true Obama supporter!...Yes we Can!

Because Hillary puts her foot in it (or Bill does) at every turn, it is no wonder she gets a certain response from the media. She constantly lies. What is the MSM to do, ignore her lies and her "It's not about ME, it's about YOU" plagiarisms and her constant complaints?

She has no credibility left.

By contrast Obama convincingly speaks truth as he understands it and asks us to support him.

How can you NOT "go easy" on that? How can they attack him for that?

So what am I supposed to do? support a woman who says no we can't? All she does is whine and complain and cause fighting between the two parties. I'd rather vote for somebody who can compromise and try to work for solutions that benefit all Americans. I know we can come to an agreement on everything but I'd like there to be an attempt. Hillary will cause nothing to happen positive and after the last 8 years I'm sick of it.

I don't know enough about Obama. I want more specifics besides "change, hope, we can do it, we are the future, we have a dream, blah blah blah."
What the hell does that tell me - nothing.

Are you really Jesse Jackson?..."messiah"...I think Obama believes he is...

Thanx fer the link Bill! ^_^

From Bill's link:

The pressures on any president to "cool it" and play the game of supporting the big moneyed interests that have been undermining and hollowing out America for decades are enormous

Agreed.

No need to tell McCain or Hillary to "cool it" if they get elected they will knuckle under faster than you can say "kickback".

That alone makes Obama the only viable candidate. Even if Obama does get into power he will need a real informed electorate who will give him the political capital to make those changes. In order for that to happen he has to re-engage the American people in the process, in their own future.

Again this goes beyond Hillary and McCain's intentions and abilities.

It aint gonna be easy change the course of the ship of state and to steer it away from the rocks of recklessness but it will be neccessary.

Both McCain and Hillary are machine polls who campaign by focus grouped sound bytes and who's real agendas are not known until it's too late.

If you can't trust the words coming out of a pols mouth there's really not much point in listening. Spud has listened enuff to know that both Hill and John are disingenuous hacks incapable of the real change so very neccessary at this point in history.

There's a lot more but that's all people really need to know for now.

GObama.

Be Well.

Anybody who voted for John Edwards in a Primary should now be for Obama.

I predict John Edwards will be saying that soon enough.

CaliChris, Obama is the only one who will put a stop to the illegals flooding the country.

Obama is for open borders and full amnesty for the 30 million illegals here now and is for "family reunification" which will allow in another 66 million family members not here currently. Obama is also for the NAU and so is Hillary. Both signed that joke of a bill by McCain/Kennedy and clauses calling for the NAU and open borders were tucked inside that bill.

We have a very serious problem in California. ALL the L.A. County health clinics announced two days ago they will shut their doors and another L.A. County major hospital is going to follow soon. We are sinking here in this state and our health system looks like the third world. Is Obama going to pay for the more than 80 hospitals shut down already because they are flooded with illegal aliens getting free health care from our emergency rooms? NO.

Obama will have my state pay for their health care and everything else and we cannot afford to be an HMO for the entire third world. Don't say either that he will help them with his universal health care because you can't have a program work when you don't have a clue as to how many millions more will keep pouring in. Obama wants open borders and has all the pro-illegals/open borders groups behind him. Get your facts straight. The SEIU (more than half are illegal aliens in that union) are all for Obama. Obama even refuses to say the word "illegal" in the debates when he was asked questions on the issue! Obama is the most liberal on that issue and I want to know that my family members will be able to get medical care without a 12 hour wait in some emergency room overflowing with illegals. That is how it is now. California is in a dire fiscal emergency and more than $14 billion in debt -- $9 billion of that due strictly to our being overrun by the third world country on our border. Don't spout stuff unless you have your facts straight.

" Obama is also for the NAU "

When and where did Obama say he is for the NAU?

"Obama wants open borders and has all the pro-illegals/open borders groups behind him. Get your facts straight. "

When and where did Obama say he is for open borders? Facts, please. Don't bother replying with some junk. Provide some direct quotes.

You think anyone's going to waste the good stuff this early in the game?

Silly spud.

We already know that he has a couple of black babies.

Wot else ya got?

Do you know sommat or are you just surmising?

Spud imagines that nothing they can come up with from wotever oppo research has been done to date will do anything more than enrage his supporters against whoever brought up the scandalous slurs.

Even if they are true.

Think about that.

Be Well.

Wrong CaliChris!

Obama will deport criminal illegal aliens. fine companies that hire illegals. Swing the trade balance back in americas favor. Secure the border.

Obama has never and will never be in favor of the NAU. Obama wants to create jobs for hard working americans.

Hillary wants to send jobs south of the border while she takes kickbacks and bribes to do so.

When and where did Obama say he is for the NAU?

When he and other Senators signed the McCain/Kennedy shamnesty bill last year. Inside that bill on page 600 something was inserted a clause calling for "fast tracking" the NAU. ALL the Democrats want an NAU and so do the corporate Republicans. Bush brought up the NAU in his State of the Union address saying he will be meeting on it in New Orleans soon. You remember the NAU, don't ya, Billy? The NAU you always told me was a conspiracy theory and didn't exist?

got to run now.

Nope. You haven't proven that Obama is for the NAU. You can't even prove that this bill said anything about the NAU.

Try again.

It's not only California, Chris. Governments on every level are being forced to cut back their spending, and many are facing bankruptcy. Except for the federal government. Only because they have the printing press and those are running 24/7. As homes decrease in price and layoffs increase, revenue streams are diminishing. The days of free spending are coming to an end.

Notice they are talking "change", "hope" and "solutions". Change what? What is the solution and to what? Hope for?????

How about IMPROVEMENT? Nothing is going to change quickly. There is no hope that anyone in DC gives a shit what the people think. The DC crowd cannot come up with a real solution to anything.

How about fixing all that is broke in DC? We never hear them speaking of improving the things already broken. We never hear of them changing the way they operate, the corruption they all are involved in, their willingness to spend as much of the tax payers money as possible. There is very little over-sight over where the tax dollars go and are those dollars productive. You never hear them say they will not cave in or cater to special interests.

I'm sure Obama won't live up to his hype, he couldn't. But I don't think the hype is all manufactured though - people ARE jazzed up at the idea of having an option besides the ones they've gotten for the past 20 years. He's not currently as beholden to the existing power players as Clinton is. He's not committed to exonerating the Bush foreign policy as McCain is. He seems smart and honest enough. Frankly, I'm just glad someone else jumped into the race.

This is the LAST research I'm going to do for your lazy ass. Do your own unless you want to pay me for my time.
The section pushing the NAU was in Section 413 of the "McCain/Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act" and was the bill happily signed by Obama, Hillary and McCain.

The amnesty bill was part of the NAU agenda and was to ease the erasing our borders completely. NAFTA was the first phase for a NAU and Bush's plan was to complete it. When Bush leaves the globalists/corporatists behind the NAU will make sure the next president will finish the job.

OBAMA signed the shannesty bill. You can't change that fact. So did Hillary. The biggest traitor of all is McCain who is the one who helped write the shamnesty bill and tried to pass it thru in the dead of night until 70% of America spent a week last year melting down the Senate emails and phone bank in protest to bring it to a halt. That included Americans from all parties. Americans do not want an NAU.

Here are a ton of links on google on Section 413 and the amnesty bill/NAU connection. Pick one or pick them all and start reading. Next time YOU prove I'm wrong.

Whoops, link didn't show up.

Senate "Comphrehensive Immigration Reform Act" Section 413 to have helped pave way for NAU

Thanks for the link, Chris

"Next time YOU prove I'm wrong. "

I don't have to prove anything. You are the one who is asserting Obama is in favor of the NAU. You haven't made the case. This section 413 doesn't say anything about the NAU.

There will be no Amero 5 years from now, or 10 years from now. Bank on it. :)

I'll agree with you on one point: this SPP agreement is a step in the wrong direction, like NAFTA, but it isn't a NAU.

"Section 413 of the "McCain/Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act"

Section 413 of S.1348 (
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007) is titled VISA WAIVER PROGRAM EXPANSION.

The phrase "North American Union" is nowhere to be found in this section. In fact, the phrase "North American Union" is nowhere to be found in the entire bill.

The word "Union" is found twice, in conjunction with European ("European Union")

The word "Anerican" appears once in the section, here: Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act.

The word "North" is not found at all in the section.

I'm not sure how section 413 pushes the NAU when that phrase isn't even mentioned.

NOTE: The links in this post are from the bill itself, as posted in the Library of Congress.

Hans

HANS and BILLY

The term "NAU" is a short nickname for the formal mouthful of "Security and Prosperty Partnership Agreement." Everyone uses "NAU" instead of the formal name. Both are the SAME thing. People just find it easier to use the informal briefer term of NAU.

BILLY

You are a blind idiot who believes nothing when the truth keeps hitting you in the face . THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES confirmed in his SOU address there is a SPP aka NAU. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!

"SEC. 413. BILATERAL EFFORTS WITH MEXICO TO REDUCE MIGRATION PRESSURES AND COSTS."

I don't see anything particular sinister in that list, Chris.

"WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT! "

Proof that the SPP establishes the NAU, that's all. If you cite the specific language in Sec. 413 that you object to I will be glad to look at it.

"The term "NAU" is a short nickname for the formal mouthful of "Security and Prosperty Partnership Agreement."

The phrase "Security and Prosperty Partnership Agreement" does not appear in section 413.

It doesn't seem to appear anywhere in the bill.

I'm not sure how section 413 pushes the NAU when that phrase isn't even mentioned.

Then why do you support the Hillary? She is bought and paid for and the only reason you support her is because of her gender.

"The SPP is not a North American version of the European Union. But it is a stealth plan -- one aimed at bypassing the kind of international solidarity that halted the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas and the Multilateral Agreement on Investment. The European Union emerged after years of public debate and a treaty ratified by member states. By contrast, the SPP is not a treaty and will never be submitted to the U.S., Mexican, or Canadian legislatures. Instead it attempts to reshape the North American political economy by direct use of executive authority. And while the European Union maintains an explicit role for government in addressing inequality within and between countries, the SPP's foundation is an unequal alliance where the United States retains the political and economic trump cards."

www.alternet.org

HANS

Your link was from May. This bill was amended many times after that date and there were numerous amendments and drafts put in and removed and rewritten, etc. When news of this SPP/NAU verbage got out as to what they planned to do re inserting it into the final bill many of the planned amendments and drafts were taken out and kept on the side due to furious public protest.

THE FACT REMAINS that if this bill was not yanked at the last minute ALL the wording/amendments and final drafts they wanted would have gone into the final bill. It was being written in secret and only a few members even had access or imput. You and I both know how that crap works. WHY was this Kennedy draft even proposed? Huh?

Besides, if you and Bill never even heard of SPP as being the formal name for the NAU then I'm sorry but you guys are woefully uninformed about it. I don't have the time to argue this when you guys don't have a clue. Talk to WALT -- he is one of the more informed people on here about the NAU. Obviously if you didn't even know the NAU meant the SPP then I'm not about to go over all that with you now. I don't have the time tonight. Gotta cook dinner!

Here is the wording of Kennedy's draft language that was to be inserted in the bill. Remember, this was being done fast, in the dead of night, and being shoved down our throats. Only the fact that Americans by the millions rose up in one of the biggest grass root protests last year against this bill stopped it at all.

From "Political Hotwire"

Unlike S. 1348, however, Kennedy's legislation calls for the acceleration of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). Section 413 of Kennedy's Immigration Reform Act reads:

"The Presidents of Mexico and the United States and the Prime Minister of Canada, at their trilateral summit on March 23, 2005, agreed to promote economic growth, competitiveness, and quality of life in the agreement on Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America."

Even though the current language in S. 1348 does not carry the language of Kennedy's draft legislation at the present time, it could be added in as an amendment, or simply replace the current S. 1348 text with Kennedy's text.

The Senate is scheduled to convene on June 4 from their Memorial Day recess. A flurry of amendments can be expected to alter S. 1348 in many ways, whether in the form of Harry Reid's "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007," or Ted Kennedy's newly drafted immigration legislation.

I'm done with this issue on this thread so I won't be back on it. It gets tiring arguing and providing links for nothing. Billy will never admit he's wrong -- ever.

"Do you know sommat or are you just surmising?"

Let's just say that Mr. Obama has an interesting few weeks coming.

Chris,
Maybe y'all should repeal the property tax freeze that came about in the 1970s and has led to folks living in multi-million dollar homes and paying taxes like they are valued at 200K. That might pump enough money back into the health care system so your hospitals don't have to close. Add to that the bailouts of folks who want waterfront property and can't afford it so they buy in a mudslide area and demand the state compensate them for their bad decisions. Oh, not to mention the "affordable housing" on the Monterey peninsula that now has to be subsidized because someone "lost" the paperwork requiring it to remain affordable. Your state is going down the tubes because of the greed of its own citizens. Don't try and saddle the rest of the country with its problems.

And yes, I know that California is one of the world's largest economies. It just chooses to run itself like a Banana Republic and then complains when the rest of the country fails to bail it out.

Chris,

Maybe y'all should repeal the property tax freeze that came about in the 1970s and has led to folks living in multi-million dollar homes and paying taxes like they are valued at 200KYour state is going down the tubes because of the greed of its own citizens. Don't try and saddle the rest of the country with its problems.
.

Maybe y'all should get a brain. We put in Prop. 13 because the socialists who run the Californis legislature were taxing homeowners to death back in 1979 and people were losing their homes right and left. They wanted the homeowners to pay for everything. Your stupid analogy of everybody getting a free ride on property taxes is a farce. Everytime a home is sold the new owner pays CURRENT VALUE on the house they bought.

Our state is sinking in debt because we are absorbing the population of the third world country of Mexico - $9 BILLION last year and are in a total debt of $14 billion -- not to mention illegals from China (second largest group of illegals) and Central America and everywhere else who land here in this state. The illegals are mostly all renters and the Democrats want the homeowners to foot the bill and are always trying to destroy Proposition 13 so they can tax us out of our homes to pay for all their costs and services.

That might pump enough money back into the health care system so your hospitals don't have to close.

Even if we did get rid of Prop. 13 we could never pay for all the free health care being demanded now by the millions of uninsured, non-skilled, low income third world people keep illegally pouring into this state . WHY should I pay for them? My house has gone up in value but we earned it. Why the hell should I pay thousands of dollars more every year in property taxes to support illegal aliens? Bush gives our state no money but leaves the border wide open.

We could never pump enough money into this state to keep up with the illegal population that keeps on coming. It ain't "my problem," honey, it's going to be ALL our problem soon -- you're next. You want them here so badly YOU bring them over to your state and YOU pay for them and YOU give them free health care at YOUR expense. I'm not and I'm sure as hell not going to be taxed out of my home to pay for them either.

The press always loves a good Elmer Gantry story.

I myself support Barack because among Democratic candidates that are still standing, he's the one who hasn't changed his overall message. Billary has changed her message several times when she was behind in the poles.

During the first debate when it was just Barack, John Edwards, and Billary, John led in with his "this is personal" line. Barack said to John, "it's personal for me too". Then who chimes in? Billary with "It's personal for me too!".

Ever seen a third grader dance in their chair raising their hand for a question they know the answer to? Watching Billary in that moment was the same. And the day before the NH primary, only a day or two after that debate, guess what Billary whips out? A few tears, and a well placed "this is very personal for me...".

There's nothing you can say to me to convince me the moment wasn't manufactured. Sad thing is NH fell for it.

She also didn't use "the change candidate" until after Barack.

So I'm crying bullshit. She fake, and it's obvious that she's fake to anyone but those who only want her in office because they think electing her will be a revolution for women. It may in fact be that if she is elected, but nothing good will come of it because she's already been tainted by Washington interests. Of course her being fake is just my opinion, but anyone looking at her can tell she's only in it for the notoriety and not common-good. Barack has a history of helping the downtrodden and middle class.

Oh, and after the California and NM contests are over, Clinton's campaign manager quits, and is replaced by a black woman?

Seems a little incredulous to me.

For all the 'Obama's all rhetoric' talk going an at Drudge, I'd like to ask why anyone thinks Hillary will get anything done if she's elected?

After all, in 1992-93, when there was a Democratic majority Congress she couldn't get health care passed.

Congress went GOP in 1994.

You need a working majority in Congress to get meaningful legislation passed. Bill Clinton had that when Hillary tried last time and yet it didn't pass. Why? She planned it in secret with the industry as her primary advisors and discluded DEM and GOP members of Congress in the planning process.

None of the presidential candidates have executive experience. So, one has to look at how they've run their campaigns and who's done the best. Hillary lost a sure thing so far.

No one has made so little out of so much as Hillary Clinton.

For me? 20 years of Bush/Clinton/Bush is enough. Why would anyone want 28 years?

The truth is that Barack Obama has MORE substantive legislative experience than Hillary Clinton has.

This is not an attack. These are facts. Please read. Thank you.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.

These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress www.thomas.loc.gov, but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you:
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.

During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service in the Illinois legislature he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced:
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These include:
** The Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act - became law
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law,
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee

There is a good time line located on PBS web site that gives a pretty accurate assessment of what went wrong

www.pbs.org

Stuart46, from the PBS site you linked:

June 15, 1993 - House Democrat Jim Cooper -- who introduced a bill in 1992 based on the principle of managed competition -- meets with Hillary Clinton to explore their differences over health care.

i was at Obama election offices here in Nashville the night of the NH primaries and Jim Cooper, State Chairman of the Obama campaign and I had a nice chat.

thats cool.. I got too meet Julianna Smoot Obama's finance director last month she lectured in one of my classes.

Did you read that whole article on what happened with the Clinton health care package. What I took away from it after reading the whole thing is that she never had a chance. it helped to read that complete time line

April 30, 1993 - Hillary Clinton meets behind closed doors with Republican and Democratic senators. She implores them to tell her what she is doing wrong and tells them she is having trouble meeting with Republicans. It is common knowledge among many of those present that the staff of Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole has told Republicans they are not to meet with the First Lady.

STUART

Ya, thanks for posting the link.

Hillary's just too divisive to ever get anything done - no matter how many 10 point plans she has.

The line some rant on Obama is that he's all talk and no substance. Well, editorial boards at most of the major market newspapers have spent hours with each candidate. 98% endorsed Obama after being quite amazed at his broad depth of knowledge of the problems facing us, and the solutions he proposes. He has some of America's 'best and brightest' as his economic, military, etc. advisors. A majority of the U.S. Central Command (military) have come out in support of him.

Early in the campaign (Iowa), Obama was criticized for speaking in paragraphs about issues. Said he was a 'policy wonk'. Now that his main stump message is 'we can't get anything done unless we hope and work and have a working majority', they say he's all talk.

Just can't please people. LOL

comeon assholes.. stop being such lying patisan dickweeds..

here is a list
www.dailykos.com

Clinton sponsored 194 in the 109 and 110th congress
Obama sponsored 129 in the 109 and 110th congress

most were crap or fluff

this is a great post by KOS..

For those of you who are Obama supporters, what do you think about his Global UN Tax bill that he currently trying to push thru?

My guess is that you know nothing about it and if you did, you would certainly question it and his intentions.

Under Obama's plan, the US would be forced to pay a tax to the UN which would equal 0.7 percent of our gross national product or basically $845 billion over 13 years. This $845 billion is over and above what we already pay / donate to impoverished nations.

www.newswithviews.com

Where do you think this $854 billion is going to come from???? A big new global tax is coming your way soon.

Wake up America. Just because someone is "well spoken" and talks about "change", does not make them a great candidate. Vote him into office and you'll get your change. Actually, we will all have a lot less change.

David Brooks's column today was a challenge to the mainstream media to take a hard look at Obama:

He made these stunning observations:

"Barack Obama vowed to abide by the public finance campaign-spending rules in the general election if his opponent did. But now he's waffling on his promise. Why does he need to check with his campaign staff members when deciding whether to keep his word?

Obama says he is practicing a new kind of politics, but why has his PAC sloshed $698,000 to the campaigns of the superdelegates, according to the Center for Responsive Politics? Is giving Robert Byrd's campaign $10,000 the kind of change we can believe in?

If he values independent thinking, why is his the most predictable liberal vote in the Senate? A People for the American Way computer program would cast the same votes for cheaper.

And should we be worried about Obama's mountainous self-confidence?

These doubts lead O.C.S. sufferers down the path to the question that is the Unholy of the Unholies for Obama-maniacs: How exactly would all this unity he talks about come to pass?

How is a 47-year-old novice going to unify highly polarized 70-something committee chairs? What will happen if the nation's 261,000 lobbyists don't see the light, even after the laying on of hands? Does The Changemaker have the guts to take on the special interests in his own party -- the trial lawyers, the teachers' unions, the AARP?

The Gang of 14 created bipartisan unity on judges, but Obama sat it out. Kennedy and McCain created a bipartisan deal on immigration. Obama opted out of the parts that displeased the unions. Sixty-eight senators supported a bipartisan deal on FISA. Obama voted no. And if he were president now, how would the High Deacon of Unity heal the breach that split the House last week?"

Hillary's just too divisive to ever get anything done - no matter how many 10 point plans she has.

I agree that Hillary is a divisive figure. But why do you think the Obama, the most liberal senator in the senate - would be any different if not worse?

As David Brooks pointed out today, "If he values independent thinking, why is his the most predictable liberal vote in the Senate? A People for the American Way computer program would cast the same votes for cheaper.....How is a 47-year-old novice going to unify highly polarized 70-something committee chairs? Obama will be swiftboated by the Republicans?

Hasn't Clinton tried that already?

If Clinton hasn't found it, why do you think the Republicans have found it?

It'll have to be fake and that won't fly today - cyberspace is very quick to prove such falsehoods.

Obama and the others aren't the greatest things in the world. But, everyone is overlooking the obstacle to America's greatness.

It's called Congress. While the WH will go through another exchange of parties: R or D? We've been doing this for over a century. Yet, we still have the same people in Congress.

They suck, but they don't have the rotation as the WH. Time to toss them all out. Then, we can listen to 'change'.

In the meantime, Obama will have the best chance of working with Congress is a civilized manner. I don't see the same with the other candidates.
