Fosset's legally declared dead after only 5 months? No plane wreckage found, nothing at all and yet he's declared officially dead? Fossett is worth more than a billion dollars. I would think that more time would be given for his body -- or at least some of the wreckage from his plane -- to be found before the will is read. Sounds like some people were more than ready to divide up his bucks to want to only wait five months since the time he was last seen alive. At least a year should have passed before declaring him legally dead.

Worth a billion dollars and yet they can't find him in a desert...Who else does that remind you of?

He'll be pissed when the aliens return him.

I'm taking the liberty of moving DUTCH46's post he put up earlier on today's Nooner.
"This probably deserves a thread of it's own, but I'll leave that to someone else. Steve Fosset was declared officially dead today. Last September, he took off to fly around the Sierra Mountains for a while and never came back. After a quick perusal of the man's accomplishments it struck me that, although he met an untimely end, he lived one hell of a full life. Here's two fingers of quality Speyside for the man. It's dangerous flying. Previous article does cast some doubt. How can they rule out foul play? I guess it's either the grief or the guilt and maybe some of both, but at least it's all in the family.

Fossett is chilling with Elvis down south. Was worried about the impending tax changes and decided to bolt.

"Here's two fingers of quality Speyside for the man." I'm tippin' Macallan cask strength.

Another bored, rich, old white guy disappears and is probably dead. Who cares?

If you had lived 1/10000 of his life John, you'd be a rich contented man..... He went out like DB Cooper!

Isn't it obvious the man committed suicide? He left no flight plan which is standard. He had top equipmen all properly maintained. He wanted to die. His rich buddies just don't want to make it public for his "legacy".

He had no flight plan because he wanted to escape without a trace. Fossett wasn't bored or boring, but rather, planning to spend his retirement incognito. Well, maybe not, but it's nice to think so...
