"I have to tell you, you know, it's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often."

Maybe he should do a youtube video singing:

I gotta crush on Obama, I'm an Obama guy!

Yeah, I know, "Matthews".

Even the other MSNBC guys, including Olberman, don't know quite what to say.

"I gotta crush on Obama, I'm an Obama guy!"

Maybe you shouldn't be too tough on Matthews, Member. After all, you stated you were "mesmerized" by Obama's speech last night. Perhaps you could be the "Obama guy"...

I gotta crush on Obama, I'm an Obama guy!

Ron Paul's heart is broken, you two-timer.

Even funnier is the second video, where Brian Williams says "Let's talk about that funny feeling Chris gets in his leg when Obama talks", and Matthews says "Let it Stand!"

They've had a hard-on for Obama at Microsoft News since day one.

Matthews just had a premature moment.

Won't be his last.

There's very little correlation between how good a speaker someone is and how good their policies will be as a president. Unfortunately style counts more than substance in this election.

That said, Matthews' comment is gay and creepy.

I find Matthews' comment odd given that usually practically feels up every decent looking woman on his show.

His sexual attraction, unlike his politics, must swing both ways.

Matthews says weird shit like this about Obama all the time. I saw him on a late night talk show saying something about a "tingling sensation" he gets when Obama talks. Can't he just say that the guy gives a great speech without getting all Ace and Gary about it?

The pros always spot the best candidate.

Out of curiosity, what's your basis for this statement, Joe? (I'm thinking that there does seem to be a correlation, at least in American politics, but I certainly may be wrong.)

Can't he just say that the guy gives a great speech without getting all Ace and Gary about it?

Good one, Joe! TV Funhouse cracks me up.

Touche! But at least I did not get a boner watching the speech like Matthews did.

Funny Flag!

"Out of curiosity, what's your basis for this statement"

Think about it. Public speaking abilities have nothing to do with your political philosophy. I've seen people who could knock you out with a speech, but you'd never want them to be your president.

Wasn't Hitler a great public speaker?

Wait until Obama wins Texas. Talk about a jerk fest on Hard Ball.

"Public speaking abilities have nothing to do with your political philosophy"

No, but they certainly are a great help in getting your agenda passed. Just ask the "Great Communicator".

Another FF! You are good!

Agreed, Bill. I've just seen more attention paid to Obama's speaking abilities than to his actual policy ideas. It seems as though people are cheering the fact that he will be so effective in pushing through his agenda without really examining what that agenda may be, or thinking about whether it corresponds with their ideas, or whether he will stick to whatever it is he believes right now.

Touche! But at least I did not get a boner watching the speech like Matthews did.

That's because you ARE a boner, you Member.

Godwin's Law strikes again.

"or thinking about whether it corresponds with their ideas, or whether he will stick to whatever it is he believes right now."

Yes. I've said before that Obama is somewhat of a blank slate that people are projecting their own ideology on, and that seems to be confirmed by the very ideologically diverse voters he is attracting.

Careful he doesn't become like that boy in Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles, who first appeared as an old couple's long-lost son. It turned out he was really a lonely Martian who would become whoever the person nearest him was wishing for. In the end he got stuck in a crowd of people, got totally overloaded and simply expired.

"that boy in Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles,"

Or Zelig.

She makes my hair hurt.

The Martian Chronicles, one of my all-time favorites.

MSNBC, an espicially Chris Matthews, have for months been on the Obama bandwagon, to the detrament of the Clinton Campaign. Every speech from Sen. Obama was poetic, every speech from Sen. Clinton was old an self serving.

This once noble network NBC, is being used by Matthews and his kind to use there position, as so called journalist to lead in the nomination of a Presidential candidate. They will say that they had no such power but public opinion is what these people do.

This so called Liberal media, need to back off an let the public decide who thier nominee will be. Sen. Obama doesn't need these clowns to taint his apparent victory, the Man has qualities that would have led him to the top anyway, now this disgraced network has put themselves in the middle of a campaign.

In order for them to push the Obama campaign they had to attack ever so cleverly, the Clinton campaign, this they have done, much to thier dis-credit.

MSNBC also employ Carlson and Scarborough, neither of whom are known to be kind to Democrats in general. They routinely have on spokespeople from all the campaigns as well as detractors of all the campaigns. My own take on Matthews is that he is not so much an Obama supporter as he is someone who would like to see someone other than the one backed by the party (either party) win just to show that the people still have a say in who gets nominated and elected.

Do you suppose he is going to have a rim shot?

well maybe someone can tell him that when obama or hillary for that matter talks about taxing all of the corporations, that they happen to forget that corporations DONT PAY TAXES....their customers do....
of course that doesnt thrill any liberal to even acknowledge that fact.

Sounds kinda gay-ish to me.

I had just finished lunch when I read this and now I feel sick.

BLT,

So if every Corporation moves offshore to dodge taxes and embargos, everything will be cheaper. Something for nothing, how can you beat that.

Matthews like alot of others on TV & radio think they are the story. Give him credit though, he's moving up on the weirdness scale.

In a minority, I guess, but I fail to see any reason for homophobic ribaldry. Are we really so inured to political hacks that the jesting must start when we respond to a good one? herm

Breaking down the word.

homo = same, alike
phobia = fear

so, homophobia = "fear of same"

huh?

But I DO understand and appreciate "ribaldry" in many forms!

Typical white closet homo guy with the black buck-fuck fantasy..
Does anyone even watch MSNBC???

Something for nothing, how can you beat that.

I guess if you want to export all the US currency you could have something there. EXCEPT!!!! If the workers are all overseas then the IRS would not be able to collect income taxes on the labor that produced the goods. I think you have hit on something nut.

I thought Matthews was on the the Clinton News Network (CNN)..anyway, Hillary is going to cut his dick OFF

Does anyone even watch MSNBC???

Posted by CLINTONISKING

Not me dude. I watch the fair and balanced network.

This is the same guy that commented on Fred Thompson's aqua velvet/cigar smells. And he hits on all the hot women that show up as guests.

Someone needs to take one for the team and fuck Chris Matthews before he rapes Pat Buchanan on live tv.

I watch the fair and balanced network.

CSPAN?

CSPAN?

No, TCM (Turner Classic Movies)

TCM is good! Well, when they don't colorize old films. I hate that.

Yes! We agree again!

AMC is good too. They show movies without god damned commercials. I saw 2010 the other day. It hasn't aged well.

Independent Film Channel is my favorite.

Samurai Saturdays ... 'nuff said.

I'd normally agree, but how many times can you watch Blazing Fucking Saddles in one weekend?

"Well, when they don't colorize old films. I hate that."

Anybody that colorizes old films should be waterboarded.

Why?
I have an anthill; Or more.
Then there are the beetles in the bottom of bat caves.

By the header I thought Matthew's was headed for another apology, that being the thrill of Obama humping his leg.

Masturbatory fantasies by a man, about Obama?

Urp,glurp,ralph rork...

Oh come on!
He wants Obama to ride his leg?
Or-does he want to ride Obama's leg?

Cheeses of Nazereth-that shithead's creepy.....

What an odd thing to say.

"What an odd thing to say."

I had a friend whose husband you to just sit there and let his dog hump on his leg.

Maybe that's what Matthews meant.

So do you think Obama will give Matthews a "reach around" while they are doing it or vice versa?

Which is the man and which is the woman?

Having heard how Obama's wife orders him around, my guess is he will be wearing the frilly stuff since she obviously castrated him long ago.

When Obama lapses into that Southern Baptist preacher sing-song style of talking, all I get is a vision of Jim Jones.

Jones talked "purty" too.

Mesmerizing one might say.

((follow me, follow me))

Red lags pop up all over the place

DAvid Schuster, MSNBC's best IMHO, gets suspended for a silly comment yet Matthews gets away with anything he wants. MSNBC was a pretty good network but Chris Matthews, who I used to enjoy, is such an Obama shill that he makes the entire network look bad. Plus he is just plain too silly.

OH, BTW, any network that would put Tucker Carlson on sucks.

Hey don't bag on Tucker Carlson I know I am an idiot but I still like the Guy.

Hey, I saw that too just the other day, and you're right - it really hasn't aged well at all. It was always a weak sister sequel to 2001, but now its really kinda bad.

Anyway, I assume Chris Matthews was talking about his third leg....

This time last year I watched MSNBC from 5 to 9 p.m. (EST) religiously. But no more.

I watched Matthews become increasingly misogynist and downright insulting to women guests and co-workers alike. The more he got away with it the worse he got.

MSNBC cracked him across the knuckles a couple times but he gradually reverted back.

I limited my viewing to Olberman for a while but gradually drifted away to better programming.

Now MSNBC has been completely eliminated from my channel lineup. When it comes to double standards, they've become as bad as FOX.

As for Scarborough, every time he said "that's what kept me in Congress" I thought about Lori Klausutis, a Scarborough aide, that was found dead in his Pensacola office. "That's what kept me in Congress" was laughable because Joe abruptly resigned from the House of Representatives shortly thereafter. Not much was said about it afterwards.

IMO, Scarborough has zero credibility which has now spread to all of MSNBC.

"Now MSNBC has been completely eliminated from my channel lineup. When it comes to double standards, they've become as bad as FOX."

Hmmm...Hillary says Fox News is "fair and balanced."

"In a surprising admission, Hillary Clinton says Fox News Channel has actually been fairer to her presidential campaign than liberal MSNBC.

Clinton stated in an interview that aired on station WJLA in Washington, D.C., that her staff had delivered to her "some independent study" suggesting that "in terms of the fairness of the coverage," Fox has treated her campaign more fairly than MSNBC."

"well maybe someone can tell him that when obama or hillary for that matter talks about taxing all of the corporations, that they happen to forget that corporations DONT PAY TAXES....their customers do....
of course that doesnt thrill any liberal to even acknowledge that fact."

-BL2-

Depends on the elasticity of their Demand and Supply curves. They almost always split the tax burden.

JEST

I should have said . . . as FOX used to be.

They seem to be taking a little policy shift for the better.

Fox & Friends still turns my stomach however. Plus they all wear the same shade of makeup . . . Peaches and Cream.

Who the hell judges a show based on the makeup the hosts wear? I mean other than women?

"That's what kept me in Congress" was laughable because Joe abruptly resigned from the House of Representatives shortly thereafter.

Your timeline is wrong. Scarborough announced his resignation a couple of months before Klausutis was found dead in one of his offices in Florida. He was in D.C. when it happened, and there doesn't appear to be any factual basis for the claim that he or anyone else committed foul play.

www.bluebell.com

Reason enough for another trip to Texas.

Matthews dreams of having a circle jerk with Obama.

RCADE

You are correct. The article I read stated the following:

Klausutis' boss, Joe Scarborough had recently resigned from Congress prematurely and unexpectedly, amid rumors about his marital fidelity and soon after a divorce. He had also abruptly resigned as publisher of the Independent Florida Sun, claiming that resigning from Congress and as publisher was necessary to spend more time with his sons.

I stand corrected . . . partially, at least. The story was given the hush-hush and as far as I know, no cause of Lori Klausutis' death has ever been published, except that there didn't seem to be any evidence of foul play.

I suspected that she was the object of Joe's marital infidelity and thus the reason for his premature resignation from Congress.

Joe Scarborough, Bryzinski and Buchanan.....the absolute worst TV pundit team on presently. Unwatchable.

Buchanan's unwatchable no matter who you put him next to. Dan Milbank is my person fav.

For what it is worth... Halle Berry thrills my leg...

They should rename the show Blue Ball with Chris Mathews
