Major cable news networks are calling West Virginia for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. The West Virginia Republican Party's convention awards 18 delegates to the winner of balloting among the state's party-members. And apparently after Sen. John McCain's staff made a strategic decision, a victory was denied to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Interesting strategy - If I can't have 'em, neither can you!

Mc Cain and Huckabee perform the Malachi Crunch in Romney.

With each passing day, I dislike McCain more and more.

I once thought that I would vote for him grudgingly if he won the nomination. But I'm changing my mind.

How sleazy.

These guys just hated Romney. A lot of people do. This was hard-ball within the rules. But, I'll tell you what, don't vote for McCain. That will work out fine.

It's becoming more and more clear that Huckabee is the only thing stopping Romney from getting the Republican nod.

That's the McCain we know and hate.

I keep telling you he's a democrat.

How could you vote for someone who tramples on the first amendment, votes for higher taxes, won't seal the border, wants to giv our SS away to people who arn't even citizens, is good buddies with the MA bridge runner, is a mavrick to his own party, the list goes on.

I would rather Clinton became president and then we couldn't blame the republicans even though they have brought much blame on themselves. 4 years of the big H should be enough to open many eyes.

Joe, I don't know. I don't think that all of Huckabee's supporters would go for Romney, especially down South. I heard yesterday, I think on MSNBC, that exit polls in Florida say that the second-choice candidate for many Huckabee voters would have been McCain.

Besides, Romney is not a convincing Conservative either.

"Four years of H should be enough to open many eyes...."

Yea, that's Rush's logic, also. But, just for the sake of argument, what if you all are dead wrong? Maybe sixteen or so years of Democrats in the WH appeals to you?

"4 years of the big H should be enough to open many eyes."

There is a danger she could be prez for 8 years :(

Also, if the Clintons become prez, I would hope the GOP regains the Congress, otherwise it will be bad for America.

"Maybe sixteen or so years of Democrats in the WH appeals to you?"

Damn, I need a drink or two!

How sleazy.

What McCain and Huckabee did is the way a multiple vote, majority-required caucus is designed to work. There's nothing sleazy with playing the game within the rules.

What's the difference? Both parties have become big govt. socialists, the only difference is the dollar amount and the spread isn't that big any longer.

What govt. programs have been done away with? To my knowledge we've still got subsidies for wool. Go figure.

"Maybe sixteen or so years of Democrats in the WH appeals to you?"

Nah....that much peace and prosperity would kill most of you Republicans.
We need more REpublicans...deficits, wars, inflation....but hey, rich folks do well. That's all that matters.

Legal but sleazy to me.

Well, I am glad that people are upset about McCain's people voting strategically rather than voting for whom they actually like. This is the kind of frustration I fell every day when people tell me that even though they may like candidate x, he can't win so they'll vote for a complete asshole they don't really like.

I hope you remember how upset you are today every day, especially come November. Maybe some of you might finaly take the plunge and vote third party. After all, if you don't like McCain or Clinton, then the whole "wasted-vote" syndrome is irrelevant.

You guys keep talking about 8 or 12 years.

You know what doesn't exist, even on the horizon?

An up and coming Republican candidate.

Did you all read that correctly?

Good, now laugh with me..........

Beg to differ. The LETTER of the law wasn't violated, but the SPIRIT certainly was - which is for people to discuss and argue, and PERSUADE (as opposed to conspire) to advance one candidate above the rest.

It seems that McCain is ready to say and do whatever it takes ... a charge that has often been laid at the feet of Hillary.

Soooo it's a one party system now mp?

Tell us who is nancy pelosi, and what good things has she done?????

Tell us who is nancy pelosi, and what good things has she done?????

Nothing. Especially putting impeachment off the table. She should not be elected anymore to congress or senator or governor or president or dog catcher.

"It seems that McCain is ready to say and do whatever it takes'

Well gee, that is terrible, now please tell us that Mitt (flip flopper) Romney wouldn't do the exact same thing.

I could use a good laugh.

Beg to differ. The LETTER of the law wasn't violated, but the SPIRIT certainly was

What a bunch of bullshit. Quit your crying.

The people in WV that support McCain supported him in the very best way that they could in WV.

They denied his closest competitor a victory.

Fact is, a majority of voters in WV did NOT want Mitt to be their candidate.

So, he is not!

It's called a CONVENTION.

McCain knows Hucktard will support him when he has to concede defeat...in essence,McCain just stole WV from the majority winner in the 3-way race..dirty pool,Democrat-style...

A vote for Huckabee IS a vote for McCain!

Of course, they deny it. What a joke. What a way to scam the Republican party.

I will not vote for either of them!

Dobson just came out against McCain. Will the GOP split in two?

One can hope so.

"Dobson just came out against McCain. Will the GOP split in two?"

Dobson '08!

Listening to hate radio at 3:30 Hannity was leading the way... he and his callers were all shitting their pants over McCain/Huckabee... ho ho ho ! ! !

Most of the Hannity callers were women and their opening line was what a great American Hannity is... talk about perverted values.

The righties all refer to a possible Clinton presidency... they may have to dig up a new bag of dirt to throw at Obama.

Dobson '08!

Will Jesus be the Veep?

So it seems to be that Huckabee was a stalking horse in the race to suck Christian votes from Romney. A candidate has to be likable and sleazy to win. This way you'll like getting screwed.

I keep hearing people speak in hushed tones about 8 years of Hillary. These same people proclaim that she will sink the country. There sure does seem to be a logical disconnect there. If she is so terrible would she not be 1 term president?

(Disclaimer: I am NOT a Hillary supporter I HATE ALL politicians with equal intensity.)

So how would you define rumors about McCain having a black baby?

And McCain 'trounces' on the first amendment? Because there is a restriction on how much money you can give candidates? Since when is money free speech?

I'm a big McCain fan, but to think Huckabee could be next in line is scary. This guy is a creationist who doesn't believe in evolution. I thought everybody believed in some sort of evolution by now.

Tell us who is nancy pelosi, and what good things has she done?????

Well she now has a street in Baltimore named after her.

If that counts.

What saddens me is that Huckabee doesn't seem to mind being used as a tool to further someone else's campaign. Doesn't he have any self-respect? Someone who wants to be president shouldn't stand for being a puppet. It'd be better to quit now and try again another time than allow himself to be a puppet.

He should quit. Then we would truly see who would win the Republican party on their own merits, Romney or McCain.

"Then we would truly see who would win the Republican party on their own merits, Romney or McCain."

lol. I'm sure Huckabee is just dying to get to the bottom of that debate.
