I always tried to live up to his high ideals. He was a true American hero and I considered him a mentor.

Bobby Knight first showed his temper in Orrville and I never liked him since.

Why would he resign midway through the season? A coach like Knight you would think would finish out the season and call it quits... some reason to force him out during the season maybe?

Having earned a couple of degrees from the Tech system and therefore spending a substatntial portion of my life in the Hub City, I know that Lubbock is a hard sell to the kind of urban brothas that be ballers.

Coach Knight's success at Tech depended upon the ability of his people to convince some High School buck from DeSoto to spend the best years of his life in a place where package sales of alcohol are illegal--and where the demographics resemble that of a fictional, 1955 television program.

Unless "Jashante" is harboring some delusional, Tom Wolfe Man in Full bullshit, he's not about to invest 4 years of his life in Lubbock if he's offered a full ride in a place like, say, Huntsville.

Even if its a Tier II school.

Bobby never had a chance.

When he arrived, the game attendance for Marsha Sharpe and her cadre of bull dykes exceeded that of the mens' program.
