Palestinian suicide bombers struck in Israel for the first time in a year today, attacking a crowded shopping parade in the desert city which hosts the country's secretive nuclear program. Ambulance workers said that the blast, which took place during rush hour in Dimona, killed one civilian and wounded 11, one seriously.

Going a year in Israel without a suicide bombing is really an amazing accomplishment. But they shouldn't view this as just one incident, they should retaliate with massive amounts of force.

Show them that even the smallest bombing will be met with an intense retaliation.

He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He puts one of yours in the hospital, you put one of his in the morgue.

In a statement, the Al-Asqa Martyrs Brigade, which is loosely affiliated to the secular Fatah party that is involved in peace negotiations with Israel, said the "martyrdom operation in Dimona" had been carried out by Gaza bombers.

It added that the plot had been planned for a month, but made easier to implement by the bombers blowing up the Egyptian border.

The Law of Unintended Consequences.

Loved that movie....

My guess is that the bomber was in Gaza, and they left, when Hamas destroyed the border with Egypt, and entered Israel through the Egyptian border.

I was in Israel during the last bombing, in Eilat, they did exactly the same thing. I was in Beersheva, it stunned me for a day or two, kind of shocked the natives too.

I would guess this will be more common in the next couple of months, due to that hole in the fence.

Eilat? I can't ever imagine a better place to party. My most vivid memory of that place is being asked to leave a bar (it was a bright early morning). As I started to leave another patron told me to wait a couple of minutes. As I waited, they literally hosed the puke and garbage out on to the street, picked it up, and then re-opened. Re-Commense Partying.

The place was stuck in the 70's, and most of the people there were Euro's that sold their plane tickets in order to have more partying cash.

Sad sad sad....

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Pray for a solution between these two ancient foes (previously Israelites and Philistines --- Samson and Delilah --- now Muslim/Arab Palestinians and Jews).

Islam is not helping the Middle East.

It must be a drag to live in a country next door to the fifteenth century. Hey, it's bad enough living next door to one still in the nineteenth.

looks at rob, always with the negative stories.... never the positive . millions of arabs and israelis went to work today without bloodshed but rob never posts about that...

sound familiar?

...attempts at a little balance is hard for some to swallow........

503,

Millions of Israeli's went to work today, thinking about where the shoe will drop next....

Being an American, I have never had to deal with the feeling of terror. Its called terror for a reason.

The first time I entered a coffee shop I almost got my ass kicked because I didn't understand the protocol of showing your bag to the guard and letting him search it, upon entry..its required everywhere...

Oh yeah, don't go near public garbage cans either..

But your diatribe sounds familar.....

Fortunately, all communication ties to the outside world have been severed, so they have the perfect opportunity to attack with all they got.

I rest assured that the Israeli press will bring us all the fair and balanced coverage that we need.

........the walls around Gaza and the West Bank just got a foot higher.....the gates barred a day longer.......

.................cause and effect................

Suicide Bombers Strike Israel...

Now, Dick? Can I press the red button now?

Really IB, you think they'll use nukes?

Question for you. Israel has nukes but has never used them. Do you think the Palestinians would have the same record if they were given a handful of them?

Really IB, you think they'll use nukes?

No, the stockpiles of dual use munitions that we have there will suffice. Not to mention using nukes a few miles from your front porch isn't exactly conducive to the long term stability of your state.

I absolutely know that if the Palestinians were to use nukes, there would be plenty of countries ready to bust down their doors, in addition to Israel. I doubt Iraq, Iran, Syria and Egypt would take too kindly to dropping nukes within a few hundred miles of their borders.

Question for you... If we were to cut off all aid to all countries to the ME, including Israel, and gave all players in that area the freedom to act and retaliate in the way they saw fit without US influence, do you think the situation would get worse, better, or stay the same?

Worse... Arab nations wouldn't dare attack Israel now with all the support they get from the west especially the United States... if they kmew that Israel was no longer going to receive weapons, ammunition, vehicles, aircraft and money, then they might see that as the opportunity to strike and if not defeat Israel, severely weaken it.

Israel is not going to let the Arab nations destroy their country, and they will defend themselves at all costs... nuclear if necessary for its survival.

The situation in the Middle East can get a whole lot worse... actually, its really not that bad at the moment... one suicide bombing a year in Israel is a lot better then it was in the late 90s and earlier this decade.

I'm glad our border is secure.

So, good fences do make good neighbors.

I could say on the other hand that the only reason Arab countries feel comfortable attacking Israel now is because they know that the US government, and US public opinion can ultimately reel them in. Lebanon was a perfect example of that. Hezbollah did not have to win the battle to win the war. They just had to not lose. Israel wasn't ready to stop their assault, it was pressure from our government that stopped the Lebanon war. If that relief valve did not exist, Arab countries would be much more wary of the unchecked wrath of Israel.

Just because we don't give foreign aid to them to buy weaponry, doesn't mean they can't research it and buy it themselves. It has been posted many times before the developments in science and industry by the Israeli people.

Furthermore, just because the US government were to cut off aid, doesn't mean that private aid wouldn't continue to Israel (to the tune of 1.5 billion) and furthermore increase as a result of funding being cut off by the US. I take no issue with private donations to Israel.

They're fighting them over there, so we have to fight them here.

i'll just be glad when they start calling them what they really are:

IZLAMIC TERRORIST HOMICIDE BOMBERS
