I am voting for Obama on Tuesday. I am a registered Dem and have to vote for a Dem. I would never vote for Hillary--Billary--the Clintons. She is a socialist--Obama not much better--found to be the most Liberal Senator in the Senate. But he is a really smart guy and when it comes to the General Election--It's the Repub candidate--whether it's McCain or Romney (likely McCain)--they will have my vote. Murphy

Go Obama!!! Half of the Repugs hate McCain and the other half hate Mitt, Murphy, were you asleep when you registered to vote? You say you are a Dem, you sound like a Repug. Either you do not know how to pick party preference when you register to vote or you are confused on what Dems stand for.

Romney is currently a little ahead of McCain here in California.

Just the thought of having Bill as "First Man" should be enough to convince any sane peson that Hillary should not be elected. The man is quickly degenerating into a sideshow freak. Besides, Bush/Bush/Bush/Clinton/Bush/ Clinton... kinda makes American look stupid if they can't come up with a different name after so many years. And beside all that, Hillary is unelectable all on her own. The republicans could put up anybody, even Jebediah, and beat her. If it comes down to McCain/Hillarity, say hello to president McCain. So.... yeah, I hope Obama's numbers keep rising and Hillarity starts to stumble in a big way.

Wow -- If Obama is leading it will be "no holds barred" with both Clintons in going after Obama. Obama better beef up the number of guys on his security detail.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but if you register as Independent (no affiliation) then you can vote in whichever primary you choose. It doesn't lock you in like choosing Dem or Repub does. COMMONSENSE Depends on the state. In Arizona, where I am, independents can only vote in the general election. It is very easy however to change your party affiliation on line. You can change it as many times as you want, but there is a cut-off a month before an election.

QUESTION -- In California will your vote for the primary count if the postmark on your mail-in ballot is dated on or before the primary or does your absentee ballot envelope have to actually have been received by this Tuesday's primary? Anyone know?
Posted by CalifChris at 2008-02-03 05:06 PM | Reply | Flag: Flag: (Choose)FunnyNewsworthyOffensiveAbusive
In California if you are a registered independent you can vote in the Democrat's primary but not in the Republicans' primary.

Navy--Sorry--but being here longer would provide a better picture--I find that the older I got--the more to the right I went. I voted for Gore in 2000--I used to be left of center before that during my college days and when I didn't care if my taxes were paid to someone else who didn't earn/need them. And I didn't have kids. After 911 --everything changed..So did the kids.. As far as Still being registered as Dem--I just haven't seen those people at the tables in front of Wal-Mart to change my affiliation. So for the primary I am voting for a Dem--just like I voted for Edwards in 2004--so that the Dems think one way and it's really another way. Kerry picked Edwards for VP in 2004--right?? I gave my contribution by voting Edwards.. So for the General I get to vote--for where the country should go--Repub for the WH! Murphy

You my friend are a Repug. Posted by navyvet50 There are untold millions of registered Dems who feel the same as Murphy does and vote Dem straight ticket because they don't understand that their party has left them...and it's not like the DNC is gonna announce that bit of information to them...they want to keep them as ignorant of the truth as possible. If people paid attention to what the idiots in the Democratic Party are actually saying, there's no way they'd ever get elected to office..

They changed the Independent status in CA for the primary. I used to be registered IN--but then I got a primary ballot and the people to choose from were losers. At the time I was more left of center--hence I registered Dem. Murphy

A-1st-- I pretty much vote Repub down the line in the General. There might be an exception with a Pro life Dem-- If I am voting in subtrofuge--oh well--but I certainly know exactly how I am voting. Murphy

If people paid attention to what the idiots in the Democratic Party are actually saying, there's no way they'd ever get elected to office.. Posted by American1st at 2008-02-03 05:11 PM Totally AGREE--The Dems can't change anything because the unions and special interest groups have the Dmes in their pocket. How can one change the system when the system is toally broken and paying for the candidate to keep it going? Schools, local govt's, pensions, --look at Detroit. We --as a nation--owe the children of America a great eductation--but the unions run the political process and have the Dems in their pocket and can't change it ! These people who run this stuff --DON'T want change--so it stays the same and kids fail. Great thoughts and ideas from Newt's new book "Real Change". Can out before Obama too.. Murphy

Conservatives may dislike Obama, mistrust Hillary!, consider Algore a buffoon and Kerry a liar, but that's not the same as HATRED. Hatred is the motivating force of the Left. Nothing. Oh she might give heating coupons for the needy and turn our country into a fascist state run type country where big brother cares for your every need. But who's going to pay for it! LOL! Are you on drugs? Or are you this way all the time? What a callous SOB POS you are! I happen to be pro choice--I think women should keep their knees together and stop a lot of the abortions in this counrty. They need to take control of thier bodies--not by killing their child--but by being smart and waiting or being more careful. The girls in the next generation are already making that choice for themselves. I think birth control is needed and RD40 is needed for rape and incest. So that makes me pro-choice.

It's about Iraq. It's hard to be excused for the Bush lies if you haven't read the report. Only six senators did. Clinton and McCain? Neither did. At least John Edwards did. www.cnn.com The *only* way to change things in Iraq is to offer a new deal to the Iraqis. Can the wife of a man whose crippling sanctions and annual bombing runs killed many thousands of Iraqis while retrenching the regime be that change? We can argue, from our perspective, that the sanctions were good. But, it's real hard to explain that to parents who lost their children to deprivation. We have to present a new face to Iraq.

Had I have known CA would pull its head out of its collective ass before election day, I'd have re-registered democrat just to help Obama defeat Hillary. Damn closed primary...leave it to the Supreme Court to rule that being able to freely associate with any political group via voting on their ballet violates the constitutional right to freely associate with political groups. So I'm left with McCain, Romney and Hucklebee? Chalk up another vote for Ron Paul, then.

I worry about Sen . Obama because I think he is promising way more then he will be able to deliver. People think that he is going to go into Washington and change a system that is 232 years old. I love the idea of change but it will take years to come about. I worry that he may end up pissing off the move on / liberal crowd if they dont see him getting the liberal agenda push through fast enough.

One knows what Repugs stand for. States rights-No Less government-NO Less spending-No Constitutional rights-NO They do believe less taxes solve everything. They do believe less rights win the war on terror. They do believe in no tax then spend. They do believe torture is Christian right and we must lower ourselves to the level of our enemies. They side with our enemies and want to limit or end individual freedoms for religious reasons. They want to fund our enemies by fighting any effort to reduce our need for oil. This is what you want---Vote Republican----
