Rudy Giuliani, who sought to make the leap from New York mayor to the White House, bowed out of the Republican presidential contest Wednesday and endorsed front-runner and longtime friend John McCain.

Guiliani got his just reward...nothing.

Now he can go back to his $100,000 9/11 speeches.

Rudy Beat Ron!

Don't go under any tall bridges. You may be hit by falling Bowas.

"Giuliani Will Endorse McCain"

Which might help Romney, if it helps anyone at all.

Who is Giuliani?

Ohhhhh.... Say it ain't so!!
The GOP race just isn't going to be as much fun without ol' Rudy to kick around.
Remember when Rudy was going to be the savior of the GOP? Those were the days.

But if Rudy ever needs to make some quiok cash, he can gather up his campaign notes and write a book on how not to run a Presidential campaign.

"But if Rudy ever needs to make some quiok cash, he can gather up his campaign notes and write a book on how not to run a Presidential campaign."

didn't john kerry already right that book?
or was it dudkakis?
maybe this will just be the republican version.

it still amazes me how inept some of these 'contenders' are.... from kerry to rudy. they really aren't dumb... they just do dumb things.... but then that makes them dumb. hhhhmmmm

mccain will be the next prezs, rest assured.
it'll be nice to have a hot first lady.

Just last week Rudy told Larry King to wait until Florida and then we'd see who made the right strategic choice. Even tonight he was vowing to go on for the sake of leadership.

What a tool.

What's sad is that there were a group of people who were even more delusional over the last few months than Rudy; his supporters.

Will Rudy get the Veep?

Giuliani backing McBush or I mean McCain is a kiss of death. Why in the world does Giuliani think that his endorsement would matter one iota? He didn't do squat and blundered badly. He went into this thing as the number one contender NATIONALLY and he blew it big time. The man is incompetant. His firemen from 9/11 wouldn't stand with him and that says a lot.

It's really too bad. I was kinda looking forward to America's first cross-dressing President.

I mean, that we know about.

What a bunch of false hype on the right. First Thompson turns out to be a dud, and then Rudy, who everyone had assumed the media had handed the Republican nomination to just a few months ago completely tanked. There was the Huckabee hype after Iowa, but the Huckster has become meaningless now. And though I'm still a supporter, the Ron Paul mania has come up short, as I had expected. However, John McCain, who had been written off by the media when his campaign team began to fragment and started losing money. The media has been pretty good at being wrong this year.

"John McCain, who had been written off by the media when his campaign team began to fragment and started losing money"

Well, the neoconservatives flexed their muscle-- if you remember they supported McCain back in 2000 out of spite for W's daddy, Baker, and Colin Powell, who were leading the Dumya parade. Eventually they realized they had to hop on the Bushwagon, and were overjoyed when Dick Cheney was put in charge of overseeing the construction of Junior's administration. From there on it was theirs and Cheney's show.

They'll once again abandon their latest host (Rudy, having sucked him for all he was worth, which was not much) and try to ride McCain's old hide as far as they can go-- hoping to put pressure on Mitt Romney, the only one left to realistically challenge McCain, to up the ante in regards to Foreign Policy interventionism.

Back in October I had a feeling McCain would make a comeback-- I followed his career for a long time and liked him for a long time, but he is not the right guy to place in the White House, even though the neocons will have a harder time bending him to their will than they did Dumya--- he will still bend however.

Now remember, William Kristol last week called McCain the "next Churchill". That should scare the hell out of ANYONE, including McCain. In McCain the neocons see their dream candidate-- a war hero politician who does not have the weaknesses of President Monkey Boy, who will continue their foreign policy adventures.

A year and a half ago, McCain tried to distance himself from the neocons, but as Michael Corleone once said, "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in".

This does open up a door for Ron Paul, but he'd have to pull in a notable running mate of fairly modest and moderate means-- does anyone realistically fit the bill? I mean seriously, if Paul runs with a guy like Walter Williams, does anyone realistically believe he'll make even a dent? Bloomberg too might jump into the fray and make a sizeable dent in everyone's fortunes. Bloomberg might make a good VP fit for McCain-- he'd be able to give him alot of money, he-he.

Ron Paul should run independent and make Andrew Napolitano his running mate. If they play off their strong pro-life credentials they might lose a bit of the fringe lefty vote, but they'll gain the pro-lifers, including the sizeable catholic vote, and Paul'd be in better position to show well, take votes from both the liberals and the neocons and perhaps steal a win.

I feel the same way about McCain. He's great for a senator, and I have much respect for him as a surviving POW who now serves his country politically, but I don't think I like the idea of him as president. There is much more to him than there is to Overlord Bush, but McCain still seems to believe in foreign occupation, which we cannot afford.

And yes, I think Ron Paul should run independently as well. Not because I think he has a chance of winning, but because his libertarian message needs to continue to get out to keep the other parties from getting too authoritarian.

"Not because I think he has a chance of winning, but because his libertarian message needs to continue to get out to keep the other parties from getting too authoritarian."

He can win, but only if he manages to gently embrace the right-to-lifers and gets some minorities on board. Paul needs to shed the loony lefties and radical righties somehow. Walter Williams would be a shrewd choice for VP, but then again no one knows about him and it would be kinda scary if Paul croaked and W2 got into the hot chair. -- I would like to see Judge Napolitano.

A Ron Paul third party would be wonderful. It would erase any lingering doubts for a Demo landslide. Ron would be the Nader of 2008. Of course if he named Dennis Kucinich as his running mate, he might even win. herm

Now remember, William Kristol last week called McCain the "next Churchill".

That the same Bill kristol who called fredisfead "formidable"?

Maybe he meant at the buffet table.

But it's going to be fun watching the GOPpers eat a lot of McCrow if Johnny gets the nod. Or just fun watching Romney and Mccain tear each other apart.

Judy Girlyani throwin' in the towel?
HA HA!
Then McTainted(with bushhit dung) gets the nod?

Soo-mebbe Mitt and his magic underpants?
Do we really need a prez with magic underpants?
Remember folks-the WH IS infested with underpants gnomes.......

Slick Willie had some stuff flying across- dress....he denied it (so we didn't know)....then the evidence just kind of stuck there.

What does this mean?

I'd say a chubby girl is still a vast improvement over a gay male prostitute like Bush's "buddy" Jeff Gannon, but to each his own.

What a disgusting love-fest that was! It was completely unseemly and undignified the way Giuliani and McCain (especiall Guiliani) handled this whole affair. I though for a moment they were going to hug and kiss each other and say how attractive the other was.

McCain and Giuliani should run as a team-- the could call themselves "McCain and Unable"

Now he'll have plenty of money to buy more dresses.

Did Rude E Gee really run for president?

"McCain and Giuliani should run as a team-- they could call themselves "McCain and Unable" "

Brilliant!! FF flag for you, K G!

Obama would have a cakewalk! (Hillary would still lose.)

Judith (don't call me Judy) Giuliani was already measuring the drapes.

Now that her dream of First Lady has been dashed, (rather unceremoniously by Florida) and she won't be attending any cabinet meeting, will she cast her love of power to 2012 and leave Rudy is her wake?

I'm an inquiring mind and I want to know.

Rudy will not be a VP candidate, not his style. Its not an operating role, unless McCain really wants the Cheney model and is will to give Rudy the COO role. I for one just want this all over with so we can go back to simple Britney and iPhone stories!
